Unsworth couldn’t cut it at Preston. So why can he get a chance at Everton? Something isn’t right there and I think Barton knows that too. He might be an arsehole but even a broken clock is right twice a day so just because it’s Barton doesn’t make it wrong.
There are ex bluenoses who have find more and deserve a chance more than unsworth such as Alan Stubbs or Mark Hughes, and others I’ve no doubt missed.

3rd November 2017 at 7:07 am in reply to: Joey Barton horrible treatment towards David Unsworth #6991I agree with much of what Barton says – unsworth was a lardarse thug of a player and how he is supposed to inspire and lead a team of professional athletes is beyond me. I hope they give him the job and that Everton go and enjoy life in the championship.

Sometimes you just come up against s team that play better than you.
Spurs got off to a flyer and did to us what we’ve done to the likes of spurs and city and arsenal in recent years – hit them hard and fast and put daylight between you as quickly as possible. We know we need defenders and a keeper – im sure Klopp knows it too but needs FSG to agreee to pay top money for them, which they don’t like to do for a non-flair player.
Too 4 will be a tough challenge for us, and the January transfer window is critical.

Hightown – the Big Ron thing was a shocker, but I was really in two minds about it as I always believe actions are more an indication of a person rather than words. He was one of the pioneers of black players in top flight teams with those teams he had at the likes of WBA and Aston Villa etc. He’s of a similar generation to my father who would say things that were out of keeping with their actions and real personality – although I don’t recall my father ever using the N word, but a few others instead. shame really as I liked Big Ron

He’s every right to park his bus – united had a few injuries beforehand and I think Jose didn’t want to have to outscore Liverpool in an open free flowing game.
I’m all for seeing some good defending and with DeGea in goal he will save one or two at least that mignolet would have let in, so he had to fancy his chances. He knows it’s more important in three or four away matches to avoid defeat (rather than lose by trying to win) and at Anfield his sides have always managed to stop Liverpool from building any momentum – and break up the flow of the game constantly.
I praised Rafa for doing it with Liverpool for years, especially away matches in Europe.
Joses comments are ridiculous but as nine says, gets prone to them. I don’t subscribe to the media genius tag though, he just likes to wind people up and irritate opposing fans whether he gains advantage or not.

Hi Ed
I’m surprised by the fuss around it – as whilst it’s probably using a racist stereotype I don’t think there’s any malice in it.I’m also surprised that kick it out feel strongly enough to write to the club and make it public – hints of an agenda.
I would have thought the best way to fix this would be to ask the player to tweet ‘please don’t sing that song’ and it would have been similar to Morata earlier in the season.

I’m glad they’re appealing it – completely wrong in my view.

Sending off changed the game – from that point on City deserved the win.
Up until that point City were fortunate to be leading – was really disappointing how we crumbled when down to 10 men. The injustice should have spurred them on rather than deflating them

As well as a host of ex pros saying it shouldn’t have been red, I’ve seen Mark Clattenburg saying it should only have been a yellow for dangerous play.
If I was Klopp I’d appeal it.
Players have to be allowed to go for the ball and contact will happen – especially with the angles involved in this incident.
Thankfully the lads ok, and hopefully it will be downgraded to a yellow

Never a red for me.
He’s entitled to challenge for the ball – it’s a contact sport and unintentional collisions happen. Glad the goalie was ok and up and about by the end of the game, rather than in hospital – he went in bravely.Ref Ruined the game.
Ah well – shit happens.
One step closer to it being a non-contact sport._____________________________

Both teams great going forward and not so good in defence – so 0-0

I’d be delighted if there were no more internationals during a season – let’s just have tournaments at a season end and the worst performers don’t get invited back straight away.

several clubs have gotten away with FFP murder and there will always be those who are a step or two ahead of FFP – I think its bollocks and UEFA need to re-examine how they try and do this as its just a distraction and lacks logic – it also keeps the smaller clubs down.
– stockpiling 300 players to stick them out on loan and sell them after FFP applies
– getting sponsorships above market levels from their owners companies or crony companies to falsify revenue
– buying players and loaning them back to defer paymentsall of these tactics harm the game or the players etc – so FFP doesn’t seem to work. Time for a rethink.

really cant be bothered with this sort of thing – especially as none of us are angels ourselves.
however, a few quips made me smile
“Chelsea sign Drinkwater and Everton sign Drink Driver!”
