Ive done business in Russia and would travel there often – the whole process from even applying for a visa is a joke.

The country is a mixture of interesting and terrifying – the Macho thuggish undercurrent is beyond anything the average English fan has ever seen – they will kill with impunity.

Doing business there was risky enough but I wouldn’t even consider going there with a group of football fans and wearing a big target.

I’d more readily go back to Qatar as a football fan rather than Russia.

You’ve put your finger on a key point there – it’s so typically Liverpool that a key player will be injured. Our first 11 can match anyone but the lack of cover for key players is obvious. An injury to Salah Firmino VVD or Sane is tough to cover. The cynical Liverpool fan in me would put a bet on seeing one of those hobble off today.

This is nonsense. Is every incident that occurred in 2014 related to the fans greeting the players coaches outside the stadium?

Be like me saying Chelsea shouldn’t travel abroad due to the problems on the trains in France and in the tube. That would also be nonsense.

Nine, you occasionally like to piss on what would be a pretty jubilant but partisan bit of support – maybe you should campaign to keep the pesky fans away from the games all together – as there are lots of examples of fan problems for all clubs.

Football is as much about spirit and passion as it is about the game itself – unless you want to complete the gentrification of it.
