You mean if he’s unfit they’ll have a better chance? Seem to play better without him.

I read 6 months, so maybe back at Christmas. Tearing your Achilles sounds bloody painful!

Ah thanks Nine didn’t know that, although still questionable timing. Pity for the lad he was on form.

Just read about RLC injuring his Achilles in a friendly match in the States. Big miss for Chelsea as he was on form I believe prior. But the question has to be asked why were Chelsea playing a friendly? Did they need to do it to keep fitness levels up? If so could they not just do a less competitive behind closed doors match?
Fantastic that this will be Cech’s final match of a great career and against Chelsea of all teams. What a match to bow out with.

Honestly don’t think UEFA or FIFA have made a decision recently that hasn’t been money/commercial orientated. Can’t remember any that benefits the teams, the players or certainly not the fans. The Champions League final ticket allocation was bad enough but holding this final in Baku is unbelievably stupid.
The governing bodies need a complete revamp with footballing people in place that are interested in developing the game and the experience for fans rather than watching their bank balance grow. It’s disgusting how fans are treated and they should know without them there would be no football.

Nine it could be an exciting front line up but looks very inexperienced to me. Think you’ll struggle to score the goals with just those 3.

Personally would like Watford to win and nothing to do with recent events regarding City. I just think the idea of a team dominating domestically is unhealthy for English football. And I think most neutrals support the underdog for which Watford certainly are.

Of course City players have not battered anyone (that we know of!) and this is not referencing what City fans have done either.
Whilst City will deny it, it does appear that the lyrics “All the way to Kiev, to end up in defeat, crying in the stands and battered on the streets, Kompany injured Salah, victims of it all, Sterling won the double, the Scousers won **** all….’ would indicate towards the high-profile attack on Sean Cox by Roma fans. Maybe City players were too stupid, ignorant or naive to know the consequences of what they were singing, but they sang it, and have caused a lot of offence.
I think if I was a relative of Sean Cox I’d be pretty upset!
I don’t understand either how you can defend them or exactly what your reasoning is.

Adlab, I don’t understand your post. It was the City players that did this, not some fans. So whilst you may say there’s always an arse with a phone the biggest arses where the ones being filmed.
And please leave Hillsborough, or for that matter Heysel, out of an argument or comparison. You might not mean any harm but sometimes things can be easily misunderstood on the net and these are very sensitive issues to us LFC fans.

They were either stupid, ignorant or naive, probably a combination of all three.

“Well there we go. Are you Platini in disguise?”
Not entirely following what you mean? Or the rest of your post to be honest, you seem to be suggesting that all is not right with FFP and that is a point I already made. Too little, too late, and easily bypassed it seems.
Think I will drop out of this thread, seems Nine get’s easily upset with my comments.

Nine just because you dont like what I said doesn’t mean something has gone tribal. Yes Liverpool probably did spend more than others 40 odd years ago, Man Utd then outspent everyone 20 years ago. Blackburn came and disappeared in a flash but have their trophy to show for it despite being a very small club. They were in a false position. Chelsea came in and blew everyone out of the water and yes elevated them into the elite bracket. At the time Man Utd were still a powerhouse in the transfer market but Chelsea were a completely different level.
FFP is too little too late. If City have breached the rules then hit them hard although I cant see it happening or making much difference. They’ll find other ways to stay out in front.
My opinion, without wanting to sound tribal or upset anyone, is that strict spending rules should of been implemented long ago before Chelsea and City could buy their way to recent success. It’s more a reflection of the game today than a dig at those clubs.

Haha Nine I knew that paragraph would get a reaction from you! Yeah you make a fair point, it has always happened, maybe in different circumstances and with different quantity. Not many people mention Blackburn but they were probably the first ones that opened my eyes to “buying the league”.

Keep hearing the conspiracy theory against English clubs but not seen one ounce of evidence. It’s not “stop City they are getting too good” (if they were, they’d dominate Europe, which they haven’t shown any signs of doing so), but probably more like “Stop City, they are gaining an unfair advantage by violating FFP.”
Galatasaray served a ban from Europe for FFP, pretty sure they do not cause fear amongst Europe’s elite.

City having 2 points deducted from the current campaign seems a fair punishment to me… 😀
If you’re going to make them so that everything should be all fair and wonderful in the world of football then at least do it properly. No more we’ll punish you but if you don’t like that you can argue against us and we’ll postpone or suspend the punishment, or that teams can use the more underhand ways to bypass it, like selling your shirt privileges to a womans team with the same owner. Do it, but do it properly.
I actually think it’s too little too late, should be implemented correctly many years ago. Teams like Chelsea and City have already benefited to such a degree they now stand with false/undeserved statue within the game and all it means now is it’s damn hard for others to make the step up.

I’m having to watch one of those around the grounds things when they do a few minutes here and a few there then go for goals etc.

Like Sean I’m totally relaxed. Think because we do not expect the title plus we have the Champions League final to look forward to. This state might change if City aren’t winning with 15 minutes left however!
Like others on here can only see both teams winning. Its be a phenomenal title race and effort by both teams.

Unpopular opinion no 1: Us fans know very little about transfers and just use the numbers quoted in the media as a stick to bash others fans with, whilst defending our own club with the same stick.
Unpopular opinion no 2: Football is on a trajectory to self combustion as the current model of fleecing everyone for as much as possible and expecting them to continue to pay is not sustainable. This will become even more apparent if/when they do some of the crazy ideas currently being floated about, like overseas matches, club specific pay per view TV, European Super League etc etc, and the fans tell them to Foxtrot Oscar and walk away.
Unpopular opinion no 3: England will have a very good team in the next 10 years if their players can play regular for their clubs.

We dont really have the midfield for that. We are an energy based team and for most of the game it worked. Barca looked rattled and unable to cope then got a lucky break and a brilliant free kick. 3-0 flattered them on another day it could of been a draw or even a win for liverpool had luck gone differently and we had our shooting boots on.

Adlab, you say Klopp needs to change style and play more possession, why? He seems to be doing pretty well with the style he has. One defeat and we should try and copy City, is that it? There’s more to successful football, and also in my eyes entertaining football, than tippy tappy passing. Liverpool don’t have the players for that style anyway.
Having said all that, we had 52% possession against Barca, at the Nou Camp. Can’t all be long balls.
