Think James Pearce left The Echo to join it didn’t he?
Mav it’s a subscription online sports magazine. Football and a lot of American stuff it seems.
Looks polished but there’s enough free stuff online for me to warrant paying.

Think he is just a WUM that flips between teams in order to cause the most confrontation he can. Just ignore him, don’t feed him the attention he craves.
I really do not like these breaks, should be thankful that at least Sterling has given us something to talk about!

Liverpools next 5 league games with CL in between:
23.11 Palace away
27.11 Napoli home
30.11 Brighton home
04.12 Everton home
07.12 Bournmouth away
10.12 RB Salzburg away
14.12 Watford homeThis brings us to the EPL game vs Villa and the Club World Cup. It’s a busy fixture list but not too difficult on paper. The two league games at home following the home CL game vs Napoli is nice.
Was going to put City’s next block or maybe even Leicester and Chelsea’s but to be honest I think are in a position where we just need to focus on our own results.

Moos, I’ve not commented on what you’ve said yet as I just skip over what you say as it’s mostly rubbish. But after that last comment I won’t.
You are an “Arschloch”, as my “superior race” friends would say.

Did anyone see the VAR images of Salah’s goal with all those (sometimes angled) lines? I missed it, only an image with no lines where it was difficult to judge. Found it odd that sky.de, who I assume show the same broadcast as the UK, didn’t show it.

Oz, unlike last year the game lived up to it’s billing. City came out of the blocks very fast and it was during this phase that the TAA non-handball to Fabinho goal occured. At first I thought it was not a pen as I thought his hands were in a natural position but on second look this morning I admit I was wrong. However, and this is a big however, there was an attacking handball before that (B. Silva I think) and any handball by an attacker that leads to a goal (surely a pen and then goal still falls under this?) is deemed handball, intentional or not, natural position of the hand or not. It might be a a bit of a grey area still but I think correct decision.
For the 2nd goal I actually thought offside at first. In game I didn’t get to see the VAR guy draw his stupid little lines so cannot say for sure if it was or not. This should detract from the beauty of this goal, a wonderful crossfield pass from TAA to Robertson and a superb cross for Salah.
3rd goal was a superb cross from Henderson with some questionable goalkeeping by Bravo and a simple finish.
Overall the game was very good. City looked dangerous without creating a huge number of chances. One or two could of gone their way and changed things, like the deflection onto the post, or when Lovren somehow deflected the ball despite already going to ground for a dummied shot. Liverpool were more clinical and I think deserved the win. City didn’t dominate possession for the whole game, it was fairly even until the last 15 minutes when they needed the goals and Liverpool sat back with Salah up top for a counter.
TAA, Lovren, Fab and Gini I think were the standout players. Sterling and B. Silva for City. Aguero I thought had a poor game, as did the City defence. Rodri was a clear 2nd best in the midfield battle.

Adlab, for it to be a penalty the rules from last year apply. It has to be deliberate hand ball or at least the hand or arm in an unnatural position. Only the rules regarding attackers and handball has change were any touch intentional or not is a free kick if a goal has resulted afterwards.
Not sure I need to be explaining the rules to someone that claims of been watching the game for longer than some of us has been alive.

“and canβt see us jerking a clean sheet”
Sean, if Liverpool go on to win I’m sure they’ll be plenty of jerking on clean sheets ?

Henderson has had a bit of illness this week but if ok I’d expect him to start. Go with intensity from the start. Ox can be plan B if we need it. If Hendo isn’t fit then I think it’s a choice of Milner as a like for like or Ox. Ox had said himself his fitness isn’t there yet when it come to the defensive side, I imagine he means the intensity, but going forward he’s look good.
Think the general consensus is that Henderson will be ok.
Know you’re a big fan of Gonez Mak and so am I but he hasn’t shown anything to suggest he should start. Likewise Lovren hasn’t done much wrong to say he needs dropping.

Don’t look at points yet, just each game. Actually I like to look at the next block or sequence of games, say between each international break and see if we can win those. Worrying about a 3, 6, 9 or 20(!) point lead will do you no good.

Nil I’ve posted a reply regarding your comment on Firmino on here to keep the exclusive Liverpool talk away from a general weekend matches thread.
With all due respect mate but I think you misunderstand that role of Firmino and maybe even Klopp’s tactics. I cannot understand anyone who would critise Firmino (for what your post indicates) as he is probably the most important part of the tactic and in my opinion always the first name on the team sheet. You’ve made a few remarks recently about having a Rush or Fowler to finish off moves and I think you like to reminisce about days long past but things have moved on since the 442 big man little man or whatever.
I don’t look at what Firmino scores, or what Salah does, or even what our much talked about midfield does. I look at what the team scores. Firmino and Salah are contributing a lot even without grabbing the goals themselves. You state a lack of firepower and sorry but that made me laugh, I think just about every team in the world would love to have our lack of firepower!
Yeah Fabinho is 6″4 I think. Great to have a tall lad in the centre for those goalie punts up fields, means he can take care of it leaving the centre backs to maintain their position.

Our defence is not as good as last season, our attack is sturrering, we’ve not clicked and everyone knows our midfield is championship at best. These are the things I’ve been reading on here and other websites yet there we sit comfortably at the top of the table.
I pity the rest of the league when we do finally start to find form! ?

City are not the team they were the last couple of seasons. Injuries have made a massive impact but also losing Kompany I believe is huge. Not just his ability on the pitch, he would surely not be first choice but given their injuries would be needed now, but his leadership. They look vulnerable.
Sure they can turn on the style and thump someone, so can we.
No one will say Sunday will be easy, but I have a feeling Klopp will go for it sensing City are vulnerable and there for the taking.
Incidentally after this weekend we are 7 games from the having played everyone once. We will have already played all the “big 6” plus Leicester, with City our final one. City will still have to play Arsenal, Utd, Chelsea and Leicester.

Not sure I’d agree with you Sean, our 3 plays pretty narrow, only when covering the left back is he expected to go wide. As one of the 2 in a 4231 he would need to play a more disciplined role and I’m not sure that would suit him.
Yesterday he did some good things in the first half. He’s got good close control and can collect the ball and go on the attack much quicker than our other midfielders. He tired a lot in the second half, can’t really use fitness as an excuse as this seem to happen in games before his injury. Maybe he just isn’t fit enough, physically and/or mentally, for the intensity that Klopp demands?

So another game when Keita fails to grab his opportunity. Read on the Champions League thread that there’s a few unhappy with him and I can understand why. It’s frustrating as I can see a player in there, he just needs to grab a game by the balls and impose himself. Too many times he just drifts in and out of games.
I disagree that he is finished at Liverpool however. For one thing, he won’t be sold until the summer and we have a heck of a lot of games to play in the next couple of weeks, I can see him getting a lot of game time. We need him, even if he isn’t as effective as we expect. If he continues as he is I would imagine he would be moved on. His stock is probably still fairly high and I could see him move back to Germany with Dortmund or Munich, albeit at a slight loss.
Good to see Ox getting back to form and fitness. He offers something very different to our other midfielders.

I get what you’re saying but I get the feeling that isn’t how Klopp operates. He mentioned in the summer that people asking for whoever to be transferred doesn’t realise the quality Liverpool already have. By this I mean Origi and Brewster. Origi I think we all know about but it’s safe to say Brewsters start has been underwhelming. But if we bought a 18 year old for 40 million would we not give them a bedding in period? Should Brewster also be afforded this after a horrific injury?
He was hugely thought of before the injury and I’d expect him to play more as the season progresses. It’s still early and the front 3 do not need rotating in my view.

Well Mikus he wouldn’t come to Anfield to play second fiddle and he isn’t as good as our front 3 to dislodge them. If the argument about having enough games is true why hasn’t Klopp gone a bought someone to rotate with them? I get a feeling the squad status is always underestimated when fans talk about signings. The counter argument about hitting the ground running is void as he wouldn’t and didn’t come in the first place.
Regarding his season thus far, Pulisic has had a couple of good games in a row but it’s still too early to say if he’s been a success or not. Mount and Abraham have still had far more influence so far on Chelsea’s season.
We could do with extra support up front dont get me wrong, but it would be a young player with the potential not a 60m plus guy.
Regarding our front 3 it’s easy to dismiss Salah as he isn’t hitting the heights of 2 seasons ago. Mane is the main man now, but maybe he is getting so much space as Salah is occupying defenders so much? For the team the front 3 is working very well, if not hitting the individual highs of previous years.

My point of posting the clip with Andy Gray (and apologies that it was pretty much the same as the post from Mikus, he posted his just as I was finishing off mine!) is not if the rules of offside need improving or better explanations or if the technology is sufficient for the task. It’s that the cretins that sit in front of a screen with all this technology still manage to make a total balls up. That clip shows Atkinson trying his best to show that the original decision was correct even when it clearly isn’t. Why? To come up with some BS about armpits is just deflecting the attention away from their own obvious failings.
Even Mr Gray, who as Nil would say hates us :p is saying it’s wrong. He even shows that the new line is angled to meet Atkinson’s agenda.
The whole system is corrupt, inept and a total farce.
