What strikes me at the moment is our game management. Yesterday we won when it seemed we could go up several gears if we wanted to. We didn’t, we conserved energy. Only games this season I felt we only really unleashed our potential was the City and Leicester games (the Leicester game possibly being in my opinion the best performance since we thrashed Forest five nil).
I’ve supported the team since the mid eighties and have always felt the Barnes, Beardsley and Aldridge team of 88 was the best but this now supersedes it. The points tally is completely insane.
I’ve read many times on other forums about what games we can lose or draw and still win the league. I also still keep hearing dont rule City out as they can string a winning streak together easily. But if City win all their remaining games, and on current form that’s a huge if, Liverpool need to drop 17 points in 18 games. And as HH said, from a team who has won 85 out of the last 87. Wow. What a time to be a Liverpool supporter.

Adlab you mean the disallowed Foden goal? That was an example of when VAR actually works so why are you pissed off?
And Ederson was available as he was not sent off for violent conduct so only one game ban. It was just denying a goal scoring opportunity. Same as Alisson recently when he handled outside the area.

By the rules both VAR decisions looked correct to me. Whether the rules are correct or not is another matter.

I think this site is blessed with some very decent and gracious City fans. Adlab let’s himself down but what he is saying seems to be a general consensus amongst many City fans it seems. This self entitlement to success and when it doesn’t go your way blame anyone and everything is embarrassing. I also find it very funny.
Adlab it would serve you credit it you stepped away from this attitude and show more grace towards a rival.
By the way, Sean’s right asking about the pen. No way, yellow card to a blatant dive in my opinion, yet VAR gave it to you. And even then when your player failed from the spot you got another go! So how does that stand with your theories that refs and VAR are helping Liverpool?
I actually think you need to get used to not being top dog for a bit. A lot of your team is old and needs replacing. Pep could go, he usually does when it gets tough, so a new man would need to change everything that was already in place to keep Pep happy.
Apologies to other City fans on here if I cause any offence.

Just been catching up with this thread I spent Christmas in the UK of all places so not had time to post.
Henderson is not what people would associate with a world class player. He is not. But he is very important in a world class team.
People say liverpool need an elite playmaker but we already have one, he just happens to play right full back. Henderson and the rest of the midfield compliment TAA and Robertson perfectly.
So for me its about tactics and style of play. He wouldn’t be as effective in most teams but for Klopp and Liverpool he is perfect.

To Win… With Hope In Your. #57387The thing worse than racism is those that cover up racism to defend themselves or their club. We’ve all seen it recently in italy and in east Europe with england. It’s great that regular fans will report the culprits but higher authorities need to take responsibility and nothing will do until they do.

Think the only shock is Brendan, he has a lot of reason to be thankful for those arsenal rumours! Also is it a sign of heightened ambition at Leicester? As in this season wont just be a one off?

I assume Pagan means the Cup Winners Cup? Sadly we’ll never get the chance to win it either.
Mind you never won the intertoto either ?

22nd December 2019 at 7:38 am in reply to: Week 18: Yule Never Have A Better Chance To Win…. To Win… With Hope In Your. #57183What I would expect gj. Obviously I know a few on a forum (bluemoon) does not represent the fan base and this particular forum seems to attract the most unpleasant type but I was wondering if the feeling of resignation was common amongst fans. I hoped these were just isolated crazy opinions, thanks for confirming.
I could never contemplate wanting my team to lose to stop another team winning, no matter who it was. I cheered like normal when we beat Blackburn all those years ago. I’m sure most proper fans would feel the same.

To Win… With Hope In Your. #57163I had the City game on my phone whilst I watched the liverpool game on the tv and agree adlab you were the better team. Leicester going long to Vardy was no surprise at all it’s their most effective weapon. Vardy is a freak, he seems to get quicker and better with age!
“KDB was head and shoulders above everybody.” to be fair this is almost always the case!
Genuine question to Adlab and other City fans on here, are you happy with the result? I ask as I saw on other forums City fans actually wanting to lose to increase the likelihood of someone other than liverpool winning the league. Pretty unbelievable if you ask me.

Great pass from Hendo. Now let’s see this out. Or double the lead .?

Apparently PL refs are told not to do it in fear of taking too much time.

Also noticed how narrow we were attacking. With Ox and Keita you dont get the full back cover as with Hendo, Milner or Gini so Robertson and TAA have be restricted with their forward ventures. It feels like Klopp is experimenting with a Plan B bit so far it isn’t working.

21st December 2019 at 6:27 pm in reply to: Week 18: Yule Never Have A Better Chance To Win…. To Win… With Hope In Your. #57145It’s a conspiracy I tell you! PGMOL and the FA can’t have City dominate the league and have already fixed it with dodgy VAR that liverpool win.
Oh wait, it was a dodgy VAR decision in favour of City? Well I never…

Liverpool too open in the middle. Play either Ox or Keita but not both. Know the options are limited with Fab and Gini injuries. Thankfully they dont look that good up top.

Isn’t Haaland’s agent Raiola, same as Pogba? I can only see Haaland moving to Utd if Raiola has made them agree to a mega transfer away for Pogba so he gets his millions.
