If as expected Mbappe joins then Real with have a front line consisting of Vini Jr, Mbappe, Rodrygo and the much acclaimed Brazilian youngster Endrick. Coupled with what they already have in midfield with Bellingham, Tchouameni and Carmavinga they are developing some team that could dominate for years.

You’re right Sean this isn’t a brilliant BM team like we’ve had in the past. Not a great Dortmund either yet we could end up with an all German final! Although I think it will be Madrid vs PSG with all thr talk of Mbappe winning it against his new employers.

Is the PL still the best in the world? Entertainment wise maybe, although we are (maybe already have) in danger of turning into one team dominating which is boring. But quality wise? Very poor showing this season including my team unless they pull out an unbelievable result tonight.

Doesn’t matter if Liverpool havnt beaten utd or done well against the top 6, its a league of 20 teams. If they haven’t done as well as city or arsenal against the top then they must have done better against teams in the bottom 14 than those two as the points are more or less the same.
If Arsenal or City miss out, and at least one of them will, what agenda should we use to beat them down with? Why are Liverpool being highlighted when clearly the other two have also had far from perfect campaigns?

Isak with goals again, what do people think of him? He always seemed to ke to be a little light weight but maybe has started to bulk out a little. If he avoids injuries better he could turn out to be top level. Thought at the time we should have gone for him rather than Nunez.
If Newcastle need to sell top assests for P+S reasons then he could make a switch tononenof the top clubs this season.

Sean, as PPT said its tiredness and Klopp’s tactical decisions to help the PL campaign going that makes play so badly. Slow possession type isn’t our forte but it keeps the stamina up for other games. We’re just crap at it and need to go full throttle in my opinion.
I lost belief in Nunez before he even kicked a ball for us as you know, and look at the criticism that opinion caused 🤣 He causes “mayhem” but many other strikers do too but they also hit the back of the net. Think the TNT commentator compared Nunez to Kane with 11% conversion rate to over 25%. Nearly 1 goal in 10 shots to 1 in 4.

Kelleher is the least of our problems to be honest. We were slow, narrow and predicable like we were at the start of the season. Difference between then and this game is Klopp changed it.
Yes we have almost everyone back but those players will need time to get up to speed whilst the core team this season look like the games have caught up on them. I think Klopp is purposely slowing our tempo to accommodate the fatigue but it’s not the way these players are drilled to play so you get poor individual performances.
Konate, Gomez, Szoboszlai and in particular Tsimikas were dreadful tonight. I would only give Gakpo a 7 and the rest between 2 and 6, and Gakpo’s good play only came in fits and starts.
Atalanta were brilliant, tactically spot on, forcing us to go long and cough up possesion time and time again.
Flat crowd didn’t help either.

Liverpool have been discussing again with his agent, they cannot approach him directly that would be tapping up. A fee also needs to be agreed with Sporting and as they don’t like doing business with Liverpool (or just Klopp?) it’s likely to be the release claus in one go. That won’t happen until the season has ended.
Still it is looking almost nailed on he will be the new Liverpool boss. Going to 3 centre backs as Amorim has played all his (short) managerial career could be a bit of an adjustment.
Also sounding like Salah will be off to Saudi, so a big summer coming up for us LFC fans.

Ironic thing was I was thinking just a few seconds before the goal how quiet he was. He looks a great talent, fades a little in games but that will fix itself as he gets older. Will soon need to be playing with better players around him.
I like the idea of a breakthrough award. Bradley and Quansah would be in with a shout despite the latter’s only real mistake this season yesterday.

If Elliot has the thought process to trail his leg, whilst taking a dive and making it look like he was taken out by a very reckless challenge then it’s the best dive in the history of football. As Nil say, the game is played in real time not slow mo.
I’m not sure what Ed and Alfie are seeing to be honest, its as clear a pen as I’ve seen recently. His foot is in a natural stride position, his stride shortened at that moment as he was turning away from WB and when you do that your stride naturally shortens. Thus why he was planted before the stretching leg of WB If he was running straight his stride would have been longer but likely hit the top of WB’s leg which again would have also been a penalty. It was just a stupid bad tackle by WB, nothing more.

If Arsenal do win all their remaining matches then they’ll have won 18 and drawn one of their last 19 games. 55 points out of 57 is staggering and you would just have to stand back and tip your hat to them.
Can’t see it happening. They are a superb team but not the level of the City and Liverpool 95+ points teams.
They do finish at Goodison Park so I wouldn’t like to be reliant on Everton putting up a fight to secure Liverpool a title! Maybe another points deduction will change the dynamics.

Looking at the remaining figures City have the easier run in. The only game I’d expect them to drop points is against Spurs. They have 3 games out of 7 against top half teams. 3/7 at home.
Likewise Liverpool also have 3/7 against top half teams but the Merseyside derby away makes it more challenging. Spurs at home is easier than at their place but Villa away will be tough. Also three away games in a week. 3/7 at home.
Arsenal have 4/7 against top half teams. Utd and spurs away will prove difficult but if Utd play like they did yesterday I cannot see Arsenal’s forwards being as slack as Liverpools. Chelsea at home could also be difficult depending which Chelsea turns up. 4/7 at home.

Doesn’t matter if the leading foot doesn’t make contact, his leg clearly does. I do not think Elliot could be expected to do anything else, he did normal running movements and it happened it real time not slow motion. Clear as anything pen.

I can’t see the video you posted Ed it’s been withdrawn due to copyright issues but I assume it’s the Wan Bissacka foul? Seen it again in not so slow motion only and it’s one of the most nailed on pens I’ve seen this season. Yes his leading foot doesn’t make contact but he takes out Elliots standing foot. I’m not going for the “he left it trailing to initiate contact”, what was he supposed to do with his leg? It happen3d very fast, not in slow mo.
If that’s a dive as I’ve seen some Utd fans suggest then it’s the greatest dive in history of football. Harry Kane would even be chuffed with it!
I’m not sure if it’s VAR, or the over exposure tackles get with today’s TV but it seems everything that happens against a team throws up shouts of injustice, corruption or whatever.

Wow mav just checked Bayern losing again. Think Levekusen need 2 points from 6 games for it to be mathematical but yeah it’s as good as done. About time, hate the idea of one club dominating a league. And still they are undefeated the whole season, incredible.

Palace have for a while been a bit of a bogey team for City, don’t think it will be a drubbing. If the aggression level is high for Palace their style can cause City problems.

Only watched the 2nd half after our game finished and seen the highlights this morning but what a crazy game. Spent most of it thinking how poor Chelseas midfield are and that Poch looks like a dead man walking and then that happens!
2 soft pens would be livid if they went against my team. Agree with Sean, Cootes was never going to overturn the on field decision the guy is a useful as a chocolate fireguard.
However the last goal was alarming from a utd point of view, they had their backs turned when the corner was taken. That stat CM posted above really does underline Utds problem. Are they just too easy to open up, indicating a defensive midfield problem? Let’s hope these problems continue on Sunday!

Haha I know mate, why I pull you up on these things!
The form guides I found online cover the last 6 games and City are 5th on that with 12 points. Arsenal lead liverpool on 16 by goal difference. Villa and Spurs make up the places between Liverpool and City and they both have to play all the top 3 before the season end and obviously both desperate for points themselves.

And yet Sean they are still 3rd so Liverpool and Arsenal must also be putting out similar numbers. In the past Liverpool have also gone on crazy winning streaks and as I said this isn’t as good a City team as previous years.

Everyone keeps saying if anyone can do X number of games winning it’s City but his season they haven’t. They dropped points against Arsrnal, against a poor Chelsea, so why does everyone think they’ll suddenly put on a 100% winning run? Whilst a brilliant team they are not the level they have been.
I agree with Chucky that none of the top 3 will win every remaining game. Its going to be close.
