Illegal in context of the rules of the sport. Bad choice of word I admit.
I’ve a pretty good idea why these rules were introduced, would love to know what yours is.
Sorry Nine I know you try your best to keep a harmonious atmosphere but sometimes the occasional confrontational debate is actually a good thing as long as people do not cross the line. Im sure a few of us, me included, have had strong views or suspected this would come to light for a while now, so I dont think just waiting before we discuss this is an option.

I’m not sure on the posts by City fans on here. Everyone knew it was happening and it was only a matter of time before it caught up on you. Blaming it on UEFA being corrupt for your own illegal activities? Blaming it on an anti Arabic agenda? Seriously take a look at what you’re writing. City brought this upon themselves by getting greedy by wanting too much too quickly.
I actually feel sorry for the City guys on here you’re a nice group but not at all for the club.

14th February 2020 at 10:01 pm in reply to: Trusted sources or do you believe everything you read or maintaining status quo #69683In defence of the Liverpool vs City “hacking scandal”, it was two ex City employees who a few months after joining Liverpool thought they see if their old logins and passwords still worked to access City’s scouting database. And yup it did. It was then settled out of court to a sum of 1 million which was largely forgotten about until Liverpool became better than City. To be honest I think City should have a look at themselves and their cyber security it was hardly secret squirrel code breaking stuff.
Not really the same level as what’s City is being accused for now.

Brian, hardly The Sun or Don Balon to be fair, both have very good reputations.
The emails shown in the gallery at the bottom of the linked page do make interesting reading if real.

Things like Champions League finals are one off games so will clearly be very exciting. Winning the league at a canter might not be as exciting as a final, or winning with an “Aguerooo” moment, but those moments of excitement are in hindsight. Whilst City fans look back at that iconic moment against QPR with very fond memories and tales of how exciting it was, I bet most of the time they were stressed to the max and would have gladly swapped for a more gentle procession to the title.
I’m loving our title charge. I love how the team plays. I love how a lot of fans (online warriors to be fair) are hating it. I just want that title and to be honest I want it as soon as possible. After that I will think about the FA Cup or Champions League if we’re still in it, or maybe even records although I don’t hold them as highly as the media clearly do.
Next year we can have an exciting title race, two or three teams battling to the last day, but this year I’ll gladly take a gentle stroll just to get that 30 year wait to be finally over!

People forget how good he was before his injury or if he doesn’t play like that straight away then he’s no good anymore.
Cant see any “upgrades” made in the summer to liverpool’s midfield, with the possible exception of replacing Shaq and Lallana with young upcoming talent should they leave.

Bit touchy there Brian! Hit a raw nerve?
My reason to bring it up was to discuss the spending of teams like Brighton and Everton, and what it could result in. Leeds again anyone? Theres no surprise to see both Manchester clubs at the top of the list so no point discussing it and certainly doesn’t need proving. It’s been said many times already.
Why to 2015? Why not? Ask the writer if you are bothered by his choice. I guess going back further is difficult to maintain credibility to the report as it wont consider inflation or even worse football inflation.

The FA Cup is obviously 3rd on the priority list for Liverpool but the league is looking like there’s a slightly better than fair chance that it will be won so maybe Klopp will go for the Cup a bit more. I cannot see a team of U23s again, maybe a few that have in all honestly not let themselves down and maybe deserve another game as in William, Elliot and Jones. A lot would depend on the CL game with A. Madrid and how the tie stands. There’s a few senior players that haven’t featured a lot this season or need games that I could see playing, thus giving the main men in Ali, Mane, Salah, VvD etc a day off, whilst not lowering the standard too far.
A lot of Media are going on about record points win, or going unbeaten, but I would sacrifice both of them for more silverware. Records are transient, winners medals are not.

Was surprised to see Brighton on the list. If they go down would they be in trouble? I know there’s parachute payments or whatever they are called but it seems they have been playing a non-sustainable game, and going down could be very bad news for them.
I guess they’ll just sell Lewis Dunk and Glenn Murray to Utd for over-inflated prices!

You’re getting confused with managing a team and managing the match π

Harsh on Shrewsbury if the alleged 500k is being missed out on but Klopp is there to manage his team, not look after the finances of others. I’m sure Shrewsbury’s accounts will be better off just by being there then they anticipated at the start of the season, just not as much as they now think. Not really Liverpool’s problem or concern.

So I guess most of us have gone from if to when are we going to win the league. Stole this from another forum showing possible situations. Think it assumes we win all our games.
Mar 7th: v Bournmouth if City lose to both West Ham and Leicester
Mar 8th: Utd v City (If City have already lost to either West Ham or Leicester and lose to Utd)
Mar 16th: v Everton (If City have lost to West Ham or Leicester or Utd) Most likely I’d say!
Mar 21st: v Palace (If we get knocked out of FA Cup and city and us win all our previous games)
Apr 4th v City (If we have to play in FA Cup QF on Mar 21 and us and city win all previous games – only a draw needed)Whilst it would be great to win it as early as possible, from a completely selfish point of view in hope it isn’t vs Bournmouth as I cant watch the game as spending a romantic weekend away in Vienna. Apparently watching football doesn’t qualify as romantic.

From the Echo:
Joe Gomez 6
Had a nightmare spell towards half-time when indecision meant he was continually caught out by Long and Ings. Composed himself after interval, a lesson learned.
Jordan Henderson 9
Desperately tried to inject some tempo into a first-half Liverpool performance lacking any, and was the inspiration after the break with a goal and an assist. A real captain’s performance.
Look at any media outlet that reviewed the game and you’ll read pretty much the same thing.
“weβre apparently just basing these decisions on emotion now.”
I think some people are yes.

Mak I said Gomez was looking unsure, as in hesitant or positioned badly, not that I have an unsure option on him. He played badly and nearly cost us a goal.
Hendo was the driving force for our second half improvement.

My take on today’s game against southampton.
First half very bad. A few players looked complacent. Lucky not to concede from mistakes our players made, like Firmino with a crazy hoof up in the air and backwards towards our goal or Gomez hesitating. Even VvD looked unsure. Our midfield were second best and offered little protection.
Second half much better. Drive and urgency more evident in particular Firmino and Henderson. Gomez still a little unsure looking and even Alisson made some daft decisions. Gini a little anonymous and Fabinho rusty. Salah looked far more a threat once they committed men forward searching for a goal. Good cameo by Keita, he always seems to do ok coming on, why cant he do that from the start?
Motm Henderson. He’s had a few recently.

Worst half performance from liverpool for a while. Some of the players look complacent and Southampton are certainly up for a game. Midfield needs to improve or someone will get replaced maybe Keita coming on.

He explained it that he used 2 FB as CB to counter Utd’s fast strikers, plus Stones, Mendy, Fernandiho and Laporte were deemed a risk. Apparently he may do the same on Sunday to counter Moura and Son.
“Manchester United played with two incredibly fast strikers. You need legs to defend this position. Son and Lucas are incredibly fast for Tottenham, so there is a chance I will do it again.”
