He did! Someone should have words!

It was of course only done in jest for which Adlab replied in kind. I like to think we can still have a little banter between ourselves?

But I am interested in seeing how City, or more to the point their fans, act during these games. Should be very interesting. Didn’t they get fined a couple of years ago for booing the CL anthem? I expect that was nothing to what is to come.

The game itself should also be a good one. I expect a lot of rolling around and feigning injury from Madrid, who alongside Barca and PSG (90% Neymar) have to be the most horrible teams around.

For all the baiting I’ve done I actually just hope a good game with no VAR incidents so all the conspiracy stuff doesn’t need to be discussed.

Haha Adlab knew you appreciate the post.

Rick Parry is on the board for the investigation? You’ll be ok then, the guy is a complete buffoon, he’s most likely screwed something up somewhere that will get you lot off.

Hope you get to see the return leg, I want you booing from every orifice as loud as you can 😀

“You are not suggesting UEFA would act in such an underhand way, are you Threeps? “

No, not at all, they are the bastions of truth and integrity! Not sure you City fans would agree mind 😀

Sean I hear what your saying but it’s a cup game and Madrid are pretty good at winning these games no matter how. They are not the team they were granted, but nor is Bayern and look how they turned it on last night. Not saying Madrid will definitely win, just that I don@t think it would be a shock if they did.

“City winning the CL would be a tad embarrassing for UEFA”

It would be a strange atmosphere with the City fans obviously celebrating the Cup but booing the organisation! Plus maybe not being there next season to defend it.

Madrid will go through, it’s already been decided. UEFA cant have the risk of City winning the competition it would compromise the ban for next year. Plus UEFA’s hated of city means a VAR assisted 3-0 win to madrid.

My slightly more serious prediction is that it wont be easy for city. The city defence can be got at and Madrid are experienced at winning at any cost. Expect some dark arts on show from Senor Ramos and co.

Keita was very ineffective. Gomez poor and not for the first time recently. Thought Fabinho was ok in possession but left huge gaps when they attacked. Thought he had a bit of a shocker to be honest, postionally all over the place.

HH only problem is I dont watch much german football, maybe just the goals occasionally on YouTube. But I know he is very quick, like salah quick, and works his socks off. He obviously can play on the shoulder but as a right footer can also play in the Mane role.

The position I find most interesting is Firmino’s. I’ve not seen anything from him the past the suggests he could do it but apparently he’s been a lot deeper this season. He wont have the creativity of Bobby but should match his pressing ability.

Agree with you about Origi, I’m sure if Werner comes he would play more for the reasons you mention. Would still be a step down from being no 1 and that’s something he has to decide if he’s willing to do that but he’s made a lot of noise suggesting he will.

Apparently his role has changed this season to one I can see suit Klopp more so than a pacey run off the shoulder type striker.

Fair enough Brian I shouldn’t of mentioned liverpool in this instance. My gripe with City fans is better expressed away from this forum as you lot are ok. Even Adlab!

But yeah my opinion of yesterday was City were very very lucky not to have at least one pen against them. For neither to even be looked at was wrong.

“Yeah Brian, watched on MotD last night, and although marginal, Ederson did get to the ball before Iheanacho.”

Really, that your opinion or the opinion of the MoTD panel? Because the BBC match report says this:

“Nothing was given when Kevin de Bruyne had his arms up in the wall and James Maddison’s free-kick clearly hit them, and even more mystifying was the decision to give Leicester a corner when Ederson took out Kelechi Iheanacho.

Iheanacho had beaten the Brazilian to Maddison’s delightful chipped pass and was floored by the goalkeeper’s attempt to punch the ball to safety, but referee Paul Tierney and the video assistant referee both felt Ederson had touched the ball.”

After all the crap some City fans say about lucky Liverpool, LiVARpool and #taintedtitle it would be nice if one or two would admit sometimes they get the rub of the green also.

It’s a no brainer of a signing if, and this is a big if, he accepts his role in the team of not always being first pick. Unless one of the front 3 go, or we adopt a new tactic which after this seasons success would be pretty crazy, he would essentially be taking Origi’s place in the squad and play about as much as he does. As Germany’s main striker is that enough for him?

Can still see him at Munich as Robert Lewandowski’s replacement and there is still strong talk of that over here. Only problem is RL doesn’t seem to be slowing down yet and because of Werner’s contract situation he will be sold this summer. All this adds up to if he went to Munich he would play second fiddle to RL for at least the 2020-2021 season.

                            Adlab my unbiased review.

It was a good game with two contrasting styles. A draw would of been fair.

Vardy hit the post on a one on one in the first half.

The penalty when ederson smacked the Leicester guy should of been given and if roles were reversed a free would of been given to the keeper. It didnt ven go to VAR. The ref actually gave a corner even though Ederson didnt touch the ball.

For the other LC pen shout De Bruyne had his arms up seemingly to protect his face and I’ve seen them given and again no VAR.

No problem with the city pen but the consistency from officials is terrible even during a match let alone from game to game. If city’s was a pen then the de bruyne one was too, or at least checked.

Goal was good work from Mahrez. Var checked for offside but was clearly on.

Looking forward to Adlab’s take on the Leicester vs Man City game and how it goes with his conspiracy theories. Man City just awarded a pen through VAR very similar to one against them by de Bruyne that wasn’t even looked at. Plus Ederson punched the Leicester player without getting to the ball and should of been a penalty as well.

City missed the pen and justice was done.

How did Werner do? Or Upamecano? Two heavily linked with the PL. Their right back Konate is also very highly rated and wouldn’t surprise me if he makes a move to a big boy soon. Also plays centre back.

Only saw snippets of the game including a good save by ex Liverpool keeper Gulasic.

Agree Mak and I think the only way to do that is for the ref to look at the screen and decide. If he cant make his mind up within a short time then give the advantage to the attacker. Let’s get away from the high level precision method and inject some common sense back into the game.

But that just moves the issue along as to whether it was in the grey area or not. Wouldn’t change anything. VAR i believe will always result in looking at minuscule deciding factors, doesn’t matter where the on/off line is or how thick.

As far as I know emails are not actual property and therefore cannot be stolen or deemed as stolen goods. The crime is with the hacker. Maybe there would be a law somewhere within fraud if UEFA paid the hacker to do it.

The hacker is already in jail I think? About time whistleblowers were protected in my opinion if they expose illegal or corrupt things.

Personally I don’t have a problem with the current offside rule with VAR if it is implemented correctly and consistently. Every team has had issues with it, some for some against, even Liverpool with goals vs Villa and against probably others that I cannot remember. The Villa one in particular was harsh as it appeared the VAR line showed Firmino onside only to redrawn again at an angle to show the match officials got it right. I think there sometimes is a conspiracy with the officials but not against any team but positively towards each other, they don’t want to go against their colleagues.

Until the men (and woman) in charge collectively sort themselves out and officiate to a higher standard it will not matter which part of the body, whether its leading, trailing, individually calculated CoG, whatever, there will always be mistakes, contentious issues and arguments between fans.
