Hear what your saying Oz. I didnt see the game today but heard it wasn’t exactly an inspired performance. With our recent loss of form I thought we needed a good performance today to set the team and the fans up for wednesday. Like yourself and Sean I fear we will go out with a limp display.
Very concerned about Fabinho. Maybe he really takes a long, long time to get match fit.

Nine you’ve mentioned Chelsea’s injury problems a few times and obviously I dont follow the team as closely as you so I ask why are there so many? Are they training injuries? Is Lampard doing something that puts them at risk?

Alternatively go to the Winchester have a pint and wait for this to blow over.

People generally only believe something when it is something they want to believe, and way too often think players see playing for a certain team the same way a fan would do.

I thihk LFC game vs Bournemouth could be important to Liverpool’s progress in the CL. If they put on the a good performance it will give the team and maybe more importantly the crowd encouragement that they will perform well on Wednesday, bu put on another lethargic display and I think it will have a negative effect.
Still Bournemouth at home is probably the game (apart from Everton at home for Liverpool!) any top team would choose to play in order to get their form back on track. 4-0 with Firmino finally breaking his season home scoring duck.

Regarding the press and looking tired I think that is where Henderson and maybe Milner too are missed. They are extremely fit, focused and intelligent with the press, but also as leaders of the team I feel they know (or are instructed) when to up the levels of those around them by setting the tone and driving the team forward. VvD had the armband and I noticed versus Watford he was trying to get everyone to play faster but as a defender all he can is shout and not lead by example simply because of his role.
This is where I think a lot of Henderson’s importance is overlooked and why he has been badly missed these last few games.

Just to add, one player I would of like to had seen more was Milner. With Henderson sidelined, Fabihno running through treacle and Jones and Lallana not knowing how to defend and press he would of made a difference to the performance I think. Not sure if he was fit for the whole game, but maybe he could of started. Chelsea dominated the midfield and if you do that you’re likely to win.

I thought the teams were evenly matched, with a collection of first teamers, fringe and youth for both teams, and that was reflected in a great first half. Sadly from a Liverpool point of view too many players under-performed especially in the second half and Chelsea deserved the win.
This dip in form happens to every team at some point, the question for Klopp is how to fix it. I would start by giving Origi and Fabinho a big kick up the arse!

Why did Fabinho slow down? He’s been a disgrace the last couple of games.

Fabinho looks a shadow of the player he was since coming back from injury. Origi too again doing nothing of note. Williams looking good and Jones better this half.

Really depends on the team and setup. I think Grealish needs players around him that can do the donkey work and also keep their discipline. Nine mentioned a previous time that he would fit into Klopp’s midfield as he has a good engine on him but I think that couldn’t be further from the truth. He runs about a lot but not in the way Klopp has his midfielders who run and press at certain triggers and hold other times. This guy will leave massive holes in the middle.
He’s a luxury player, one that looks great in a highlights reel or MOTD. For a team that is setup so he can do what he likes then yeah a good signing as he has talent.

Yes with no previous problems. If I get it again I’ll post screen shots if I can.

It was on a PC. I posted but then immediately tried to edit as the format looked wrong and had a message saying I am not allowed to edit. I then took a copy of my text, exited the site and came back in on a new tab and tried again to create the post in general forum with the copied text. The site returned me to the main page with no post. Nine said he saw it for then couldn’t find it later or couldn’t access it.

I reported in in the problems page. I posted it, saw a typo, went to edit it, then it said something like you are not allowed to edit this and it wasn’t listed. Luckily I had the text copied so I started a new one and pasted it but then it never appeared.
Shame it was a work of art π

Apologies this is taken from another forum but it made me laugh and shows how crazy some of our fans pessimism is and how stupid that other fans are now gloating.
Be absolutely mad if some mystical fortune teller sidled up to you at the bar after Kompany lashed that one in against Leicester and the league title dream was over.
“So mate, this a bit shit about not winning the league and feeling like you’re out of Europe but, little reveal and that, you’re gonna win 4-0 against Barcelona tomorrow”
“Oh gee, really? That’s a relief”.
“That’s not all, you’ll win the European Cup for the sixth time vs Tottenham in the final”.
“Sweet, where do I sign up?”
“No wait hear me out, I’ve not finished. There’s more. You’ll win the Super Cup in Istanbul against Chelsea”.
“Oh brilliant, that sounds like a solid year”.
“Still not finished mate, got a bit more to fit in actually. You’ll win the the World Club Cup in Qatar”.
“There’s no way 2020 can get much better than that then”.
“What about sticking out a gang of kids against Everton in a derby in the FA Cup and still beating them?”
“Bloody hell, that’ll take some topping”.
“How about winning 26 out of your first 27 league games?”.
“Christ, that sounds absolutely ridiculous – surely we will have a great chance to win the league for the first time in 30 years?”
“Correct. You’ll be 22 points clear after those 27 games. Although, there is one negative”.
“Jesus, this must be absolutely horrendous after all of that. Go on then, what is it?”
“You’ll lose the 28th league game of the season to Watford”
“Oh for fuck sake!

I’m far more interested in trophies than records and I never actually thought Liverpool would go all season unbeaten. Yes it would be nice to share the invincible tag with Preston North End and Arsenal but not the end of the world that we can’t. I thought it would be Man City that ended the run so in a way it’s good to lose to Watford compared to City or even worse Everton because of the gloating by rival fans would be unbearable.
What I’m not happy about was the performance, absolute crap. Lovren was terrible and seems to be taking all the flak as is his role these days it seems but that was by far the worst I seen VvD play. In addition to the defence problems, since Fabinho returned or maybe since Hendo got injured there’s been huge gaps in the middle and teams can cut through us and create good scoring chances very easily. Reminds me when we played Can as a DM and he would wonder off leaving the CBs over exposed.
Hopefully it’s got rid of any complacency within the team and they refocus.
And Watford were excellent, could of been 4 and would of been deserved.

I think Lineker was off hurting his toe in Japan when the Premier League started.
Aside from the usuals, Gareth Barry?

Mav, yeah not too far, I’m in KΓΆln about 80km South. Not heard anything about staying at home but I’m more than happy to Home Office it for a month or two!
Harry, obviously it’s too early to say for sure but those figures are what many organisations are using at this moment, to put the virus in context vs influenza I had to use what I can get. It’s highly probable that the figure will increase but still people are saying it terminally affects mainly the weak, sick or elderly. You don’t have to quote me on that or the 2%, I’m just discussing the merits of postponing sporting events.

It kills around 2.1% which is pretty high. In 2018 influenza killed 61k in the US but at only 0.1%, imagine if this virus becomes as common as the flu? That would of been 1.28M in the same situation if my maths is correct.
It’s actually reached my City the last few days with one positive case. 41 people who had contact with this person are negative but must remain in quarantine for 2 weeks. The fear here is we just had Karneval where over 1 million people party in the streets for 5 days (yes my poor poor liver!!) and with symptoms not showing there could of been many transmissions of the virus that are unknown at the moment. If this individual was spotted a week or two ago I’m sure Karneval would of been cancelled.
The reason sporting events are being cancelled is the fear of what it could do, not what it has done. I am not one of the people it would likely kill so I have little fear myself, but I can understand why others are taking measures.
