Nine, whilst this situation is undoubtedly bleak and on the minds of everyone I’m pretty sure that the majority of fans have no interest in football “whilst people are dying” is incorrect. We have to still look to the future, be that personal ambitions, jobs, holidays, or even football and sport. Put everything on hold for now, but that doesn’t mean we need to put our future hopes or plans on hold also.

I cannot see this situation being sorted by the time next season is due to start, so why give this season an ultimatum to finish? With the World Cup screwing up the 2022 season anyway why not just finish this one when it is possible, be in this summer, this winter or next year.
If the season is void then the European competitions should be void for next season as no one will have officially qualified for it. It would be a travesty if Spurs for instance got a free entry to it after the car crash of a season they have had.
Heard (although not officially) that the big 21 European teams are having a telco today to discuss the options. I assume every European league would need to be aligned on the outcome.

Not sure Germany is doing everything correct. For instance it is actually very difficult to get tested, you need to be showing symptoms AND have been in close contact with a known carrier of the virus. Not sure how it is in other countries but this is one of the reason I think we are still in the calm before the storm bit as there could be many many more with the virus.
My girlfriend had a fever a couple of weeks ago so we called the hotline and were told by automated message that no contact with a known carrier means no test. We decided to keep on the line as she works in the health sector and it’s very important she isn’t carrying but after 45 minutes we gave up.
Regarding Kane, he is saying that as Spurs had a terrible season and it’s in his interest it gets wiped. I find it pathetic that certain people in football are arguing either one way or the other only for what seems only their own benefit. Karen Brady being one of the main culprits, wanting the season voided with West Ham in a relegation fight with the prospect of her losing a lot of money.

I’ve been going to the gym pretty much every day for the last 12 years but last summer I stopped to try home gym and I wished I done it before. I own a chin up bar, two 15kg dumbbells a mat and a pair of gymnast rings and have a far superior work out than I did before. For aerobic I run, cycle or inline skate in the local area.

Adlab, I’m a design engineer. My company policy is for Home Office 5 days a month but since the outbreak they doubled it. Doesn’t make sense to me, I can work easily from home every day.
I think in a couple of weeks if things get worse then the policy will change.

Sean, in Cologne. Germany has a lot of cases but not many deaths relatively. USA, italy and spain have a higher rate of cases and china still has more. But as I said we have no lock down as such, just social distancing with max groups of two people and non essential shops closed. I cant help thinking we are still very much in the calm before the real storm hits us.
Tommorow back to the office sadly after a week of home office.

Adlab, because I can see them out my window. In fact anyone on a particular main bridge over the rhein can see them just by looking down in all their glory!
Mav, mostly old men. Occasional lady. Very different approach to nudity over here. I had quite a shock when I’ve been to the sauna! But you know, when in Rome…

Life over here in Germany is almost normal. The shops are all closed apart from food and medicine but theres lots of people out enjoying the sun. I’ve just gone for a run and there were people of all ages out, including those of the more vulnerable group. Yesterday there were people jet skiing on the Rhein and naked sunbathing opposite my apartment ? We are not on lockdown just social distancing despite over 50k cases and even over 1100 in my city alone. Next week I return to the office one hour drive away.
Cant help thinking Merkel is taking a massive gamble.

Guys it’s pretty simple, in the UK all non-essential travel is prohibited. If you crash, injurer yourself or whatever you will put a burden on the emergency services at a time they don’t need extra work! If you are stopped you will be in trouble.
Exercise within your own neighbourhood whilst respecting the 2m rule. Take the car for supplies or to work if you have to go in. That’s it. Stay at home all other times. It’s shit but we are living in a shit moment sadly.

Mav, the Police would disagree with you, plenty wrong with going for a non-essential drive. See my post above.

“What a lovely day! The perfect day to drive up into the Peak District for a walk, bike ride, climb or horse ride, isnβt it?
No, actually it isnβt.
Weβre seeing a lot of confusion over whether people are allowed to travel to the Peaks to undertake daily exercise while the government are asking us to stay at home. While we have this fantastic space in our county, right now is not the time to be using it.
Daily exercise should be taken locally to your home. Under government guidance all travel is limited to essential travel only. This is to help ensure that our emergency services arenβt put under even more pressure during this time.
Should you trip, fall or have a road traffic accident while you are travelling to, or are out in the Peaks, then this will add additional pressure to an already stretched service.
The safety and wellbeing of you, the residents of our beautiful county, is our priority and these measures are being put in place to ensure that you are kept safe.”

Current: 2016 Seat Leon ST, bought brand new. It’s a functional car. I do a lot of mileage these days so it’s ok with the fuel. Can’t get a diesel they are seen as the chariots of the devil himself over here in Germany and have zero resale value.
In the past I did the fast car thing, I had a E46 M3. That thing shifted but cost an arm and leg to run.
Will electric cars provide a solution? Hopefully, but not yet. They really need to sort out the infrastructure. I would love to get one but I park in a private spot in a multi user carpark with no charging facilities. I would need to charge every day but it would be impossible.

Just finished The Caliphate on Netflix, thought it was one of the best series I’ve seen recently. Its setting alternates between Stockholm and the Syrian city of Raqqa. It’s a very hard hitting and highly believable story of western muslims and ISIS, with some young girls wanting to join and a woman wanting to escape.
Probably not to everyone’s taste and avoid if you want a feel good series!

Lewandowski and his wife make 1m EUR donation to fight the virus. I know they make a fortune and that is hardly a dent in his bank balance but it’s still a very generous thing to do.

Brian, what were you in the RAF and when? I spent 10 years in it working on the Torando GR1/4, leaving in 2008. I’m guessing your service predates that somewhat!

Good post Sean.
We all love football but it does take a back seat whilst we try and fight this situation together. I appreciate the chat on here regarding the subject as I think we are a good intelligent bunch but elsewhere I’ve seen so many posts by rival fans mocking Liverpool because of Coronvirus, some actually celebrating the virus as it may deprive us the title. Sometimes it makes me embarrassed that I follow a sport that has so many low lifes within it’s fan base it actually makes me consider walking away. I know they are just keyboard warriors and the saying “Give a man a mask and he will tell the truth, give him a keyboard and he will act like a complete twat” does spring to mind!
From tomorrow I start working from Home and I expect we will be in lock down very soon. In my City with a population of just over 1 million there is already over 400 known cases and increasing by around 80 a day now. And that’s just the known ones or the ones that can actually get tested!
