I agree with Sean regarding Jose, he is finished as a top coach and uses outdated tactics. At Porto he played anti football whilst hoping to nick a goal and it was successful. Then he went to teams with massive financial backing and played good football and was successful. Recently ir seems he has returned back to his Porto ways.
He was moderately successful at Utd. Not sure calling winning both the second rate European and domestic cup competitions and being runners up so far behind City as successful is what Utd would want mind. But the football was dreadful. Truly dreadful for a team like Utd.
I know some on here have fond memories of his time at their respective clubs but can you honestly say he plays football fitting for a top team? Forget all the other stuff that comes with him, he’s just turned into a sub standard manager.

Possibly the most boring 45 minutes of football I’ve seen at Anfield. German commentators described it as a team that cannot be bothered to play versus a team that cannot play. Fairly accurate I’d say! This is equally as bad a performance from Liverpool as the other night the only difference is that was against City not Villa, hence the difference in scoreline.

Mav, its a signing that wouldn’t make a lot of sense to be honest. A good player no doubt but he is 29 and we do not need to add more experience to our midfield. Money is very tight at the moment and we have other areas that need attention before central midfield.
Could see him going to City mind.

Sean, I’ve taken your comment about Fab over to this thread to stop LFC comments dominating the match day thread.
You make a very good point about Fab and that he likes to press fairly high. I remember his debut in a friendly and I kept a close eye on him and he was often in front of the other midfielders leaving a huge gap in front of the defenders. He was all over the place to be frank. He turned it around for the first season putting in some great DM performances but he seems to have slipped back into the poor positional play again. Whether that’s his or Klopps fault I do not know but it leaves our centre backs wide open.

Mikus I cannot possibly comment on a hypothetical situation, who knows what would of happened if City played A. Madrid. There’s been a few times when City failed to score or at least win against teams where who we dominated. You can’t use individual games as examples however, judgement should be for the whole season
We’ve been very poor twice this season, last night and against Watford. Both times the midfield let the team down badly although you could argue no one exactly covered themselves in glory. I agree with regarding Fabinho and that he only a first teamer because there is no other choice. Hendo perhaps but that takes away a lot from the his game. Fab has not hit the high standards of last season and since his injury has been very poor in all but the Palace game, offering little protection to the defence and leaving us wide open.
Regarding Keita, im not sure on the question. Klopp is always looking to improve the squad and obviously saw Keita as a way of doing so. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t rate our midfield or anything.

Mikus you like many fans are going down the compare the teams without considering the tactics option. Yes there is strong evidence that some of Citys players are technically superior but put them in Klopps team and they could struggle. Likewise put some Liverpool players in Citys team and they would also struggle.
I never get this midfield weakness thing. They were crap last night granted but for the vast majority of the season they have executed Klopps plans to perfection. In the reverse fixture Liverpool dominated the middle of the park.
Put Citys midfield into Klopps team and they wouldn’t do as well as Hendo, Gini and Fab.
And final point, I would say TAA is technically far superior than any City full back, with VvD, Salah and Mane also technically superior than their counterparts. Firmino is not exactly Jason Lee up front. Even in goal we win the technical points.

City fully deserve the lead. Up until Salah hit the post it was fairly even but only one team in it since then. Klopp needs to stop the team with the early long ball to Mane tactic as it ain’t working. Gomez has had a shocker, definite pen and poor for the second too. Great 3rd goal.

Yeah sorry should of said upto 55m after addons. I for one am glad he is going he always worried me when he was playing against us. Pace and skill are a wonderful combination to have these days. I think Bayern are getting a super player and as you say Mav will be part of a very strong looking team.

Seems Sane to Munich for 55m. Worst kept secret that he was off but how are you City fans feeling about the move and the price?

Agree we need better LB cover. A lot of rumours about getting a new CB but I question why. I would hate to see Gomez’s career stalled.
Lovren is probably off so a reserve CB is likely needed. Matip is made of glass it seems (out for the rest of the season now), but to replace Gomez would in the starting line up would be madness. KK has been mentioned but that is looking unlikely but also Diego Carlos of Sevilla. But again, he is 27 and would likely expect to be first choice alongside VvD, so it makes little sense.
Having an excellent team brings it’s problems when it comes to transfers it seems, although a problem everyone would love to have!

Big pitches suit counter attacking or long ball teams, not short passing and counter press like City. More grass more area for then to press and longer passing which can cause misplaced passes.

Curse those Proles, always causing havoc. And what has the academics of the inner party done to help? Nothing!
The 4 ministries need to get a grip and rule with a firmer hand!

Not been on here much or watching any recent football as I’m sunning it up in the Algarve at the moment but I’d like to pass my thanks to supporters congratulating us. I caught a little of the match last night and despite the situation we find ourselves in I can say it feels great to be able to say my team are Champions.

Really? My netflix has a host of language dubbing or original and subtitle languages. Hence why I watch a few spanish series recently.

Nine glad you modified 442s last post there’s no need for that comment. Please if you have nothing constructive to say regarding Liverpool then take your comments to a different thread.

Sean, you have to have dubbing? I refuse to watch it and often critise the German idea of everything being dubbed. To me it removes a large part of the immersion of the show or film and the performance of the actor. I always use subtitles. In fact I now use subtitles all the time as I struggle to understand certain American accents!

I’m thinking as you may of guessed of teams that need points and if Liverpool put out a young team against them how those around the teams would feel. I think we should still be professional whilst giving some minutes to those youngsters mentioned, just not the sort of team versus Villa or Everton in the cups.

I would want the team to remain professional and fight for every point, for both for the integrity of the league and to further enhance our season. I would like however one or two of the promising youngsters (Jones, Harvey and Williams) to be included more often in the match day squad and maybe get some minutes if we are cruising in games.
Good old Keith eh? Hope he gets to find some form, I still see a player in him. Stats wise he is actually pretty impressive but we can all see with our own eyes he hasn’t performed as we want. I just want him to grab a game and dominate the midfield, I am still confident he can.

Money Heist was superb. Very much recommend it. Ozark as others have said is also very good. Wont spoil it but the ending to season 3 was great and Darlene has got to be my new hero!
Watching 13th on Netflix, very topical subject given recent events and have to admit it opened my eyes to a few things especially the events just after slavery was abolished in the States.

There was an article in the Echo or Mirror I think that explained the amount of money Liverpool are losing at the moment. The players are still taking home their wages (around 100m a year) but with no gate income and having to pay back part of the 130m to the TV companies you can see the problem. At roughly 3m a game, if next season is to be played behind closed doors you’re looking at a loss of 100m that would not of been factored in. Chelsea will have a similar wage bill and obviously a similar lack of income but Liverpool’s problem is that the owners have exactly the same problem in the States with Boston Red Sox. They are hemorrhaging money badly.
There’s talk of no signings at all at Anfield for next season. All speculation at this stage of course.
