Walker has never been that good a player technically but he has enormous amount of pace. Even at 33 he is still one of fastest around.
With such pace you can afford to take more risks with other players, push much higher up etc. This is why Pep still plays him, it’s not because of his playmaker ability! But Southgate doesn’t do that, and against lesser team like England has faced there’s no need to have such a conservative player at right back. Would have been far better off playing Trent at FB or even Trippier and play someone else at LB.
The Swiss have impressed me. They along with Austria have looked tactially good and I thjnk England might be on their way home. The signs of a good manager is making the team better than the sum of its parts which both those team have done, quite the opposite to Southgate and England.

No tempo or width from England. I’ll never understand this obsession with slow tipp tappy football all within a 10x10m box on the edge of the area.
Slovakia, whilst not a brilliant team, have used the width of the pitch much better. More direct and much quicker transitions.

Actually thought the ref got all the big decisions right.
Kimmich foul? Correct.
Offside goal? Hard to spot with the naked eye but technology said so, another correct decision.
Handball? Doesn’t matter how close you are it depends on where your hands are and his were up. It’s like someone doing a star jump right next to the crosser, a pen. Or a defender pointing for what ever reason within the first 20 seconds of his clubs biggest ever game, a pen.
Onto tonight’s game. It’s got boredom written all over it. England again have such an easy route to the final and I think they’ll scrape every game on route before being shown up against someone half decent.

I’m only about 60km South of Dortmund, dry here. Been damn hot today however so I hope we get a downpour.
Foul or no foul by Kimmich? I think foul, he had no other intention than to impede Schlottenbeck’s marker. Shame, as I’m not sure the Dane would have got that high to challenge the German CB.

England have some of the best players in Europe, possibly the best squad overall. However it doesn’t matter who plays when the coach hasn’t got a clue how to set thr team up to successfully press, to keep a tempo up, to create overloads and focuses etc. He’s probably the most tactically inept manager Egland has ever had, whilst in charge of one of the most talented.
Look beyond individual performances and ask what is happening on the training pitch.
They’ll get through mind without exciting anyone and then shit themselves once a team with quality has a go at them.

Nil, you’re talking about Musiala who represented England from U15 until U21 and had the choice betwrrn England and Germany. Another ex-Chelsea youth player going onto World stardom
I predicted on the other website that he and Wirtz were thr ones to watch this tournament and they both looked superb yesterday.

Very impressed with the way germany can switch it about up top. Yes they play possesion as nearly everyone these days but they go slow, go fast, down one flank then switch. Very good to watch.
Win it? Maybe, probably not. Will be harder games than sadly what Scotland offered.

VAR can work if not operated by morons and there lies the problem with the PL.
Anyway, my adopted home nation looking good, or is it more Scotland looking terrible? Seems they accepted getting beat from the first whistle.

Can see City gaining more support from other team owners to be honest.
You’re a “normal” team owner with a team in the PL. If City win you have basically unlimited spending through the newly non-regulated associate sponsorships. You’ll probably not be able do anything with it as you’re just a normal billionaire and not a sovereign state and are unwilling to throw billions of your own money at the club. But what you do have is a very sellable product to flog to mega rich state heads or lunatics with billions to burn. Now City’s actions are in your interests too.
Premier league football will die, but some rich guys will get richer.

If they win this, not only can they no inflate associated sponsorship deals to whatever they want, they will also say the rules that concern many of the most damaging changes against are unlawful and should be dismissed.
If they win the PL will not survive.
Roll on the SL without these and any team who supports their cause.

It doesn’t look good from them, just reinforces their win at any cost appearance. They have zero regard for sporting intergrity.
As mentioned in numerous reports it could be a tactic to add weight behind their 115 charges defence. Can only hope this a sign of desperation.

Yeah I remember the legal advise given to you and I belive it was completely wrong. Apparently thousands of emails were hacked and many never seen by CAS but as I said even when it looks 100% solid they are guilty it needs to be proven by evidence the things described actually happened, emails alone will not suffice.

Seems to be some “new” emails that again state that sponsor payments will be covered by AD. Man City fans have responded by stating that if you say you are going to do something it doesn’t mean you will or have and whilst it makes then appear as guilty as a puppy sitting next to a pile of poo from a legal point of view they are probably right. The onus is to prove these things happened, not that they were discussed.
Small snippet:
• Additional £15m cash from Etisalat to be booked in 11/12 to be funded via ADUG. As I mentioned earlier, it will be a challenge to effect this from a p/I perspective but let’s assume we can achieve this so we will include this in the balance of 11/12 cash call.

I actually forgot it was on opps.
Whilst this brings Utd one trophy closer to challenge us as the countries most successful team, I feel better a proper club won.

Bebe? Danny Drinkwater? I can’t remember him but read that Ricky Alvarez for Sunderland was bad.
Pepe was bad but I don’t think he had an attitude problem, just a talent one. Keita was known for his bad attitude in Germany it was a surprise Klopp and his team didn’t pick up on it or they just ignored it.
For me it’s not just about talent or lack of that makes a bad signing, it’s the ones that have a detrimental effect on the team. Be that bad attitude, exorbitant costs or tactically misfits usually combined with a lack of talent.
