Ah yeah I forgot about Rodgers and Reading too. I’m pretty sure I could of come up with several more names that met 90% of the criteria was just luck I mentioned the right one.

I was determined for it to be Cahill whilst conveniently forgetting the bit about not winning the league.

Cahill won the Cl and Prem.
I thought Neville was GB coach but then I never watched a minute of that to be honest.

I think the way it’s worded is trying to make you think he played for Liverpool but I reckon that’s the writer being slippery and leading us astray. The players are also odd, 3 ex or current Liverpool and same for Man Utd. Or could it be an (ex)England international? But then what about Giggs? That means either Welsh, Man Utd or… Team GB?? That would work with the England theory.
I was thinking Gary Cahill but cannot place Hughes or Pearce. Plays with Benteke and has with the english guys.
Clynn? Cannot place Pearce or Mourinho.
Ryan Bertrand? Cannot place Hughes or Pearce, think he played with Benteke in 2013 for Villa.
And I have no idea if any played for Team GB or not or if that is even relevant.

I got that from the beeb and they used Kante when he signed for Leicester as an example of a transfer that would not happen. There are many other examples of very good players that could also be used to illustrate the issue.
I believe with the current WP for non-EU players if they don’t meet the criteria then you can pay a certain amount and that is then ok, like what LFC did with Gruic.
On one hand it means teams will need to rely more on developing their own young players instead or raiding the academies of others (does this work both ways?), but also means team will I think drop in quality over time.

Mak I think it has to do with the rest time between games. Klopp has said before that 4 or 5 days is absolutely fine and the players can play both games consecutively with no problems. Its when its 2 or 3 days between games thats his issue with the lack of 5 subs.

Young lads can be very happy with their performance tonight. Jones seems to have upped his defensive side recently and is pressing far better. Pleased for Neco to have a good game after suffering a lot of stick before and Kelleher will be made up after a pretty much perfect debut.
Agree Mak about Mane there was no need at all. Could have spoilt an otherwise nice game for us reds.

I agree Ed he is super silky on the ball. But there is more to that in football especially the way some teams expect all their players to do the hard graft (Liverpool, City) along with the fancy stuff. If there’s a top team out there that can accommodate him, as in maybe have 2 strong disciplined central midfielders and say to him go on do your thing they have it covered then he could go on to be a great player. Or as a left sided attacker but I think he would be wasted a little out there.

Think I must be the only one that thinks Grealish isn’t really that amazing. He has skill no doubt but you really have to build a team around him and accept he does next to nothing defensively and will leave huge holes as he wanders about doing his own thing. Also needs to cut out the play acting.
Nine mentioned a while ago he would fit Klopp’s midfield well but I couldn’t disagree any more, he is a million miles away from a Klopp midfielder. He runs about but not the way Hendo or Gini do. So what about the front three? He wouldn’t displace any of them.
For Utd the only place he could play is left side of a 3 in a 4231 formation but I think he and Fernandes would end up tripping over each other. You couldn’t put him as one of the 2 that would be suicide and Fernandes and maybe the enigma that is Paul Pogba are already there to play the attacking midfield role.
Chelsea? Think they have enough tricky skillful players already. Spurs? Cannot see him as a Jose player although with them already having a fairly solid base maybe they could accommodate another flair player. Think Arsenal have more pressing problems to consider a huge transfer.

Thanks for sharing that Nil, that really is a shocker. Do they not realise they, or their bosses, or their bosses bosses are ruining football? Do they not pick up the papers and think, you know what, this is actually terrible and people are not happy? I hope when crowds are let back in everyone in the ground lets the officials know exactly how we all feel about them.

HH said recently they are his second team so I’m guessing he’s delighted with that tie. And yes they are from Crosby, Merseyside.

“2 points from nine for Chelsea againest Liverpool, utd and spurs”
Was thinking the same. Actually they haven’t managed a single goal in the 3 league games against their top rivals. For all the attacking wealth that Frank has is that good enough? For me it is too early to say still but Chelsea will have to start to do more to be a genuine title contender.

We were poor today and a draw was a fair result but agree with Mak on the penalty. Football is and has been since the start of VAR ruined. I’ve never been so close to walking away from the game as I am now as every week we talk about the idiots in charge of their game and their ludicrous decisions rather than the football itself. Its not football anymore.

On this occasion VAR was spot on, no complaints here.

Phillips has on a few occasions been caught a few meters deeper than the rest of the defence. This has let the BHA forwards in with a simple diagonal run following a through ball. Rwally not good enough. Apart from the first few minutes this has been a Liverpool performance I feared.

There’s a mole at anfield and this time we cannot blame HH and his intriguing Lucas connections. I heard this line up last night and every game so far this twitter person has got it spot on at least 8 hours prior to kick off. I’m sure they know how damaging this can be to the team but likely don’t care one bit.
I can see us playing at a tired mid week hang over type pace and being very disjointed. The team has no time to recover and no time to get their rhythm together in training.

This was the player that got me into football. I was outside my house when a match form the 86 WC was on and my dad told me to come inside and watch the best player in the world play. That was it, I was hooked. Despite his more recent unsavory antics and lifestyle I will always have great memories of him. To me he is the greatest of all time.

Again the little hop in the run up did the trick. Have it saved and guaranteed a second chance. Should be counted as unspotmanlike conduct and stopped.

Messi to come in the summer then? I wouldn’t bet against it although don’t think it would be in your best interest.

Not surprising as he attended his brothers wedding the other day and didn’t exactly socially distinct himself!
