Obviously Lewandowski won’t have much to show on the international front but he’s been far superior than Messi for a couple of seasons. Scores more# involved more, works for the team more and wins his domestic league more. Messi shouldn’t even be in the top 10 he spends most of the time sulking, standing with his hands on his hips or insulting everyone when things don’t go his way. Does nothing for the team when under the cosh.

Agree it is like Pool fans moaning about that, usually after we conceed silly goals. Or when we don’t score we deffo need a creative midfielder or an out and out scorer, even in our dominating league win I heard this. Think I saw on TT someone say we need a “proper scorer” desite our forwards scoring loads this season, although that was probably our (Greek) village idiot. Fans want perfection every time and that unrealistic.
Critisim is fair enough, especially when well thought about with proposed ideas. But I had a look at the TT Chelsea Man Utd game page and there’s a lot of comments as on here, that you wont win the league again (not just this season, again!) unless you put away those chances. And that is after putting away more than your fair share of chances in other matches this season.
We can agree to disagree as we seem to be going around in circles. Games coming thick and fast and who knows might even be City fans turn to be gloomy?

Yeah I get that Mak and its possibly going to be very close to the end but Chelsea fans moaning about not winning the league until they start taking their chances is a bit rich from a team that has spanked the likes of Norwich 7-0 and Spurs and Leicester 3-0 away. They have scored the 2nd most in the league and are top!
I could understand it more if it were fans from Norwich, Burnley or Spurs feeling sorry for themselves!
Like to point out I did say it was fans of the top 3 not just Chelsea. Should of been more careful with this I admit as they are a sensitive bunch on here.

Mak, a Paris based player winning a Paris based award, who would of thought it?!
Agree total joke but not unexpected. Lewadowski should have won.
I don’t like the guy but this is class from Messi: “I wanted to say to Robert that it was an honour to go up against him,” said Messi. “He deserved to win it last year.”
Deserved to win it this too!

Begrudging your right to be slightly frustrated… a little over dramatic isn’t it? You can be slightly frustrated all you like I and no one else will begrudge you in the slightest.
Sounds to me a bit more like self pity but you’re more than welcome to insist its slight frustration if that makes you happy.

I hear what you’re saying lucky and I’ve heard Liverpool fans say we should score more because we do miss a lot of chances. This is despite the fact we are scoring loads and breaking records with the current top 3 highest scorers on the league. I think fans expect too much perfection sometimes. Chelsea, City and Liverpool are all in with a shout of the title as it stands Chelsea are no 1. I’d still put City as favorites as both Chelsea and Liverpool still need to visit them.
Ed know what you mean, it’s self preservation. I’ve mentioned this to a couple of Liverpool fans on here before too. Personally I take each game as it comes whilst enjoying it until it’s obvious we are out of contention. But it does sound like a few Chelsea fans are feeling a bit sorry for themselves despite being top and having some exceptional results this season, and that I don’t get.

So Chelsea draw against a very defensive and well organised Utd team who at the start of the season were predicated by some for a title challenge, and now they are wasteful which has dogged them for a long time. What about the 4-0 against Juve, the 3-0 against Leicester, the 3-0 against Spurs and not forgetting of course the 7-0 against Norwich? Were they just off days to the normal wasteful ones?
It’s a 3 horse race at the moment and all 3 will drop points at various points in season. It seems that when one of them does their supporters think its all over for the title and basically feel sorry for themselves. It’s a long season, everyone will have a bad game now and again (is a draw against a Utd team who needed some sort of performance really a bad result?). Why not enjoy the completion and see what happens instead of all the doom and gloom?

Just tuned in as I thought the game was at 6cet oops. Seen the BBC blog graphic showing the average positions of Utd players is with everyone in their own half. Still nil nil and you never know only takes a mistake or a bit of magic and even a super defensive team can nick a win. Looks a bit like a training match at the moment!

5 years old now Harry. And I’d thought in Germany if they’re going to hike the fee up the year they get the Bundesliga (and its every game no matter the time) would be the year they do it.
Having said that I think Sky is only 40eur for the complete package except movies and they show more matches than in the UK. Think in 3 years I’ve missed one Liverpool match. They still love Klopp!

Over here sky.de are showing the city game. They still have Premier league rights but Dazn have taken both Bundesliga and Champions League games from them this season. Plus they do all the box office boxing,NBA, NHL,NFL. And the cost? 15eur a month on a rolling contract. Really hope they get the Premier League too such good value.

Mak, think Hendo was having a go but he expected Jota to make the near post run. If he had the ball wouldn’t have looked as terrible as it did and maybe result in a goal. But that midfield 3 looks very good together. Also agree on Ox he’s looking better each game. Robbo looking like his old self too.

The appointment of Ragnick was a surprise, not the interim position more the consultant or whatever itΒ΄s being called. Is this a change of direction for Utd? Will they look to develop a system and style in the Ragnick mould?
With this in mind I`m going to throw in a name that I think hasnΒ΄t been mentioned and will probably be thrown out by you lot, Marco Rose. He worked at RB Salzburg, I assume in close connection with Ragnick at Leipzig and is credited for a lot of the success Salzburg enjoy. He is highly regarded as a coach and plays the similar high press style a lot of German coaches use. He moved from RBS to BMG and then this season to BVB and in the league they are only 1 point behind Bayern (although we all know who will win!). BVB might not have the World presige of Utd but it’s still a big club, and a few from there have gone on and done well (Klopp, Tuchel).
The arguement against would be he’s not high profile enough, or not got experience of a huge club with huge stars. But Utd have went down that road before with van Gaal and Mourinho and look how that went. Maybe taking a punt on a young dynamic manager with a respected coaching reputation will worth a go this time.
Having said all that it will probably be Poch…

It’s going to be interesting seeing how Utd get on for the rest of this season. I think the game vs Chelsea is too soon to see anything different but in the long run I am sure they will develop a different style. Ragnick is like many managers from the DACH region a coach that like the high energy pressing style.
Carragher said recently I think during the City-PSG match that the game has evolved to the point that no team can afford passengers anymore (referring to Messi, Mbappe and Neymar). When it comes to defending Utd have 3 passengers in Ronaldo, Fernandes and Pogba that till now at least have played together a lot. And if you play with a high press then even if it’s just one player not doing his job it gives the opposition the chance to beat the press.
Chelsea, City and Liverpool all have different styles of play but one thing in common is that every player works very hard.

I think we all know Moos is just trying to get a reaction, best just ignore him he probably doesn`t understand the complexity of mental health.
His death was such a shock as I think like a lot of you saw him only the day before on Football Focus and none of us could have known that anything was wrong.

I want Utd to best Chelsea. I mean I will feel dirty inside because of it but Chelsea are one of two rivals LFC have for the title so of course I want them to drop points. But if Chelsea end up spanking Utd then that will also make me happy so it’s kind of a win-win game.

A lot of talk about Poch not winning anything but is winning the only thing that counts now? Should the likes of Pellegrini and di Matteo be considered because they have won something?
To me the style is more important, the philosophy, the end goal. When Klopp took over LFC we were still a bit of a mess but you could see what he was trying to do and given time he did it. As a rival supporter I wanted Ole to keep his job because after the 3 years or whatever he was there I still had no idea what kind of style Utd wanted to play.
Poch has a style, he had his Spurs team working together towards it. He may have been a little too short in quality within the squad to take it to the next step by winning something but he did well with what he had and played some very good football.
Things aren’t going too well at PSG but that is a team with too many individuals working for themselves. I don’t think Klopp or Pep would do much better with that lot of primadonnas. Individual brilliance will always win you matches but rarely win you trophies (unless prime Maradone!).
I worry as a rival fan that Poch could impose his style successfully at Utd and with the better quality than he had at Spurs actually win things. Utd needs a lot of work to make them play as a team again but they have quality there already. Although they don’t have the primadonna issue as bad as PSG I think only one of Ronaldo, Fernandes or Pogba can play at once or there’s too much for the others to carry.

“as well as the Ronaldo factor”
One of the reasons Utd won’t win anything this season.

Read that Poch isn’t happy with the way PSG is run with Leonardo making all the transfer decisions and he is left to only the coaching side of things. Can understand that he wants to leave even with Messi, Mbappe and Neymar at his disposal and are probably one of only 5 teams with a realistic chance of winning the CL. And with PSG inexplicably not winning the league or CL last season I think PSG aren’t too bothered either. Can see this and Zidane to PSG happening very soon.
