If utd protests lead to the postponement of a match then every team should be awarded a 3-0 win. I believe that is the rules its just whether the Premier League enforce them or not. Klopp hopefully has put pressure on for Utd to be able to avoid such circumstances at least for Monday.
Not sure how much you saw of the last “protest” but over here Sky were pretty relaxed showing some shocking behavior from Utd fans. Groups of men surrounding cars of people just going about their buisness maybe with children in and rocking their cars causing a lot of fear. Mob mentality at its worst. It was terrible.
Protest yes but there’s a way to do then just acting like a big group of dickheads.

Just to wade in late with the great player great manager debate I’d say Viera looks the best of the recent ex Premier league lot although at a club with lower expectations and can happily play defensive football. Not sure he would be successful at a big club there’s a lot of difference but he looks tactically astute.
Pep was a pretty good player in his time. In three different countries he has shown with the most resourceful team in the league he can actually meet expectations and win that league. So I’d say he’s not a bad manager 😉

Nil during matches he often changes formation or makes adjustments, some work some don’t. You sounded like you were having an unjust go at the manager.

” I wish Klopp takes off his stubborn hat to consider being a little more strategic”
What do mean Nil?

Some good points made by the BBC pundits, is he a good fit for Ten Hag’s tactics? He is a destroyer that sits very deep (as do Madrid in general) and doesn’t offer much in the forward transition. Ten Hag plays with his midfield pressing high up the pitch and more progressive with the ball. We’ve seen before with Utd buying expensive signings that don’t suit their style of play (Maguire and Wan Bissaka) but more of a low block counter attacking team.
It’s a lot of money, 70m Eur potentially plus being one of Utds top earners and till 2027 also. Good player now but will he warrant such a contract in two years? Or will he become another old player on huge wages that Utd cannot get rid of?
Edit: good point Ed, maybe a double pivot with Eriksen is his idea. Will be interesting to see develop.

Ed you make a very good point about which clubs are chosen by potential owners. Shiny gifts to teams that usually don’t get such are a sure way to win the fans over despite highly questionable issues elsewhere.
I’d like to think I would take the moral high ground if someone like the City owners took over Liverpool and walk away from the sport. Also think if I did that I would be very much in the minority.
Its funny how a fans outlook changes when big signings are dangled in front of them. Wonder how many of those Newcastle fans that dressed as Arabs were critical of City’s spending power beforehand? And that those that support such an owned club always try to defend the issues or even dismiss them. Most fans crave success no matter how.

Trent is the best right back in the world… for Liverpool. Put him in a less adventurous team like Leicester or the very negative England and he would be dreadful. Its fine other team fans calling him out to be lesser than what he is because they’ll never get the chance to appreciate such a role. He is our playmaker but at right back, he is very unique. Having said that so far his forward play is off the boil and with that missing it probably accentuates his defensive shortcomings. When on form I wouldn’t change him for anyone in the world for how Klopp uses him.
I predicted before a ball was kicked that Nunez will struggle and not because he is a bad player but because the change in style to the team. You saw yesterday against a low block team how easy it is to defend as the liverpool attack is tightly congested. With Nunez as the focal point stsying up top it gave little room for Salah and Diaz to operate in. You could also see the large gap between him and the midfield which led to many predicable early long passes to him, again easy to defend against. Still plenty of time to sort this out but it could be with City already long gone and strolling to another (very boring) championship.
Fabinho apparently seen struggling with injury afterwards. Could say that explains his dismal performance but he’s been poor for about 6 months now which is very worrying. If he is injured the crys for a new midfielder will be even louder!

Nil I don’t think Ralf could have achieved any more than what he did. As Sean says he put forward a list of players and they were not pursued. He rocked the boat by telling the truth but maybe Utd need a few home truths at the moment.
Ten Hag has probably the hardest job in football at the moment. Something seems very rotten at the club and when a succession of managers does not solve it you have to look higher up the command chain.

Doesn’t matter who the manager is or what players they currently have there’s something about Bournemouth that tells me they will get absolutely thumped every time they play City. Maybe this season they will put up a little more resistance.
Big game on Sunday between Chelsea and Spurs. Think these two will battle it out all season for 3rd and 4th and the head to heads could be vital. Think a 1-1 draw.
If Utd don’t get a result against Brentford then the pressure will already be on with a visit of Liverpool their next game. Do feel a little sorry for ten Hag to be honest, but only a little! Seen a lot of Ragnick’s previous quotes circulating this week in a kinda he told us so way. I don’t think they will be anywhere near top 4 this season and likely nearer the bottom half in both points and final position.

Will be interesting to see how this works in the super cup.
Ed you said thr Bundesliga going the other way with VAR, you mean VAR will govern the match more and overrule the on pitch ref as opposed to the PL clear and obvious error policy?

City and Liverpool are miles ahead of everyone else. I’d be surprised if the gap was less than 15 between 2nd and 3rd. They are the two best teams in the World and probably Bayern a distant 3rd.

Not condoning it Adlab just trying to put it into perspective and explain why. What City fans did during the game was far worse. But I think I am talking with a bunch of old royalists so probably best to leave it, just try and remember not everyone respects the queen or the establishment and many have good reason.

Disagree nine# booing your own anthem is obviously a way of showing emotion because of a particular situation which I’ve explained before. You take offence because that particular situation does not affect you so you cannot understand how the liverpool fans are feeling or why. Maybe you think they are just being offensive for the hell of it which is incorrect and ignorant for anyone that thinks that way.
England fans are being offensive for the hell of it or do actually harbour genuine hate against other nations as we saw versus Germany recently. That is a far bigger problem than a group wanting to protest against a situation. Even worse is the vile chanting from Manchester clubs (and others, but mostly them) which again is a serious indication of hate and twattish behaviour.
Far worst situations then offending some old dear with a crown or the nation they live in. There’s bigger issues here.

By that logic nine you’ll need to ban national anthems being played at all England internationals as England fans repeatedly boo the opposition anthems.
Or is it only offensive when it’s your anthem?

Think the City chanting murderers and always the victim should be more of a concern than booing the anthem. At least the anthem booing has reason behind it rather than just trying to be as shit a human being to another as possible. Sadly this vile chanting has already become the “norm” with the clubs from Manchester.

Forget about the smack against the crossbar that was just unlucky can happen to any striker. What was noticeable was how Haaland wanted to run off the shoulder of the last defender in behind. He has bags of pace and this is how he has always played. City for thr last season played with no striker and before that with Augero who came deep and linked up with others. This is the point I made when City bought Haaland, he doesn’t at the time suit the way City play. And this isn’t just based on watching one game. You can have the best player in the World but if the tactics don’t suit him he won’t perform as you’d hope.
So something has to give, either Haaland changes or City do. You would think City bought him to maximise his skillet so will change their tactics but as we saw with Grealish Pep is very rigid with his approach and expects the player to change. And again as seen with Grealish this can be difficult for a player to do.
I have the same concerns about Nunez as he is differwmt to Bobby but have always said the issue isn’t as big as Klopp is more flexible. There already have been subtle changes moving away from two wide scorers using space the false 9 provides template. Was impressed with Nunez’s movement yesterday and let’s hope it gives him confidence for the league.

I would never boo the anthem but again I would never sing it either. God and the queen, two things I have zero interest in. Should be a song about the nation and the people.
Think those Liverpool fans booing are doing it as a protest against the establishment who have been seen as against them since Thatchers 80s, through to the Hillsborough blame and cover up and to feeling of today of being treated unfairly.
