Sean you are right Everton were really bad but they were just a few inches from taking the lead. Just think if they had everyone would be calling it a Dyche masterclass! Although I felt confident we would score we were moving the ball very quickly which hasn’t happened enough this season.
Bajcetic was excellent fully deserves the plaudits. Hard to image he is only 18 in his breakout season. Was also nice to see Robertson bomb forward like his former self.
Interesting that Nunez spent most of thr time on the left with Gakpo central. Wonder what will be our starting front 3 wil be when Jota, Bobby and Diaz are fully back?

Alfie, I think you could add an additional line that UEFA stipulates all evidence cannot come from an illegal source (Rui Pinto etc), the PL does not.
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire speaking to Sky Sports News:
“The main difference between the Premier League and UEFA is UEFA have a statute of limitations, which limits the availability of evidence to five years. The Premier League does not have that.
“UEFA have rules in regards to where evidence comes from and it can’t come from illegal sources. If you take a look at the Premier League handbook, it states that the source of data and evidence is an irrelevance as far as they are concerned, although this might form part of Man City’s defence that some of the evidence which is going to be provided by the Premier League has come from inappropriate sources and there is a lack of credibility with that evidence.
“I suspect some of the evidence that is going to be put forward by the Premier League to the independent commission has ultimately come from the Football Leaks, Der Spiegel and the Portuguese hacker because that was quite comprehensive.
“It was part of the overall strategy of the Premier League gathering together evidence, especially when they felt it couldn’t necessarily be obtained from the football club itself.”

Paul, City were found guilty by Europe’s governing body. The case went to the CAS who throw out some of the charges due to a technicality, whilst others they indeed find nothing untoward. Which were time barred I don’t think was made public knowledge. City were not found innocent.
Still this time there’s no time limit, no CAS, maybe a different outcome? Maybe not, see if this 10k/hour lawyer is worth his money. Take 4 years? He for one is hoping!

Chucky is right, this is about rule breaking not law breaking. Think you have misunderstood the situation Adlab.
The only possible law infringement would be a tax avoidance situation that might have occurred with Mancini getting supplemented wages. Is it? Will HMRC investigate? No idea although we’ve seen in Spain the tax authorities love to clamp down on multimillionaire footballers.
But that isn’t what the PL charges are focused on, its about cheating the rules of the game primarily.

Innocent until proven guilty. Thing is City have already been found guilty, CAS overturned the punishment on a technicality. City were never proven innocent despite what Pep says.

Not sure why you keep mentioning Harrods Adlabs. Harrods are not involved in competitive sport. I do not sit at home cheering on their sales report hoping they keep a good lead over John Lewis. As Ed said, zero emotion or care about them.
You understand the concept of sportswashing right? I do get the feeling you are a prime example of someone fully seduced by the trinkets and gifts these generous men from the East have given you without a single thought or care as to why. You understand that some fans don’t want people connected with human rights violations, percussion of certain groups, participating in modern day slavery, and in some cases associated with murder and torture to people that oppose them or their views connected in any way to a club that they hold close to their heart? For me no shiney new signing will cloud my views on such things.

My historical success remark was just a cheap little shot at City, of course it should be domestic league performance based.

I liked the idea of a super league based on historical European success.
Villa and Forest squaring up to the likes of Madrid and Bayern and Man City nowhere in sight!
Being serious, isnt the CL going to a league format also? If this is done fairly to all and doesnt impact domestic league why not?

“Adlab, I donβt think any of us should be rushing to punish City innocent until proven guilty and all that.”
Nah, they’re as guilty as a puppy sitting next to a pile of poo.
Once could be a mistake, but twice?! I think they will be found guilty of some of the cases but also think the punishment will not be as strict as some of us are wanting.

Uefa found them guilty, CAS overturned the result on a technicality. The PL hasn’t got such time restrictions on their investigations and City cannot turn to CAS.
This is a big move by the PL. They have gone all or nothing. If City win the PL may cease to exist as there will be zero deterrent for financial doping and therefore not a level playing field. Surely they know the consequences of charging City and have made 100% sure of their case.
I cannot see titles being stripped and handed to the 2nd place team. What about the 5th place team missing out on the CL? Or a relegated team missing out on all that PL money? Big can of worms could be opened. But I could see individual chairmen taking City to court on the back of a successful case for such losses.
Be interesting to see if Pep stays. He’s said a few times if the club is found to have cheated he would walk.
Thing is even if the case is somehow thrown out City will always be known as the Lance Armstrong of the footballing World.

No idea to be honest Lucky. Maybe appeal to the next higher level court in England?

Man City latest: under Premier League rules the club will not be able to appeal any sanction to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (which overturned the UEFA ban)

Of course they will wiggle out of it. There’ll be some weird technicality that the mega rich City lawyers will find and even though the evidence will point to cheating City fans will tell us it was made up and an agenda against them. Or somehow its Liverpool and Utds fault. Or the London based press. Or some anti Arab thing.

Sean I’ve already spoken about why individual mistakes happen when a team is already playing badly.
Where do you think the problem lies? What is the reason 90% of our players are playing below their standards?

Buying VvD and Alisson from the Coutinho money is a myth. VvD was paid in one big lump sum as an apology to Southampton for Liverpool’s behaviour whilst Coutinho was sold on installments and conditions some of which might still be outstanding. Theres also huge agent fees to be paid and loyalty and signing on bonuses, its never as simple as what the papers say.
We bough Nunez for what 80m and followed it up with 40m Gakpo, all at a time the owners are exploring a Dale of the club. Not small change.
I don’t think it matters if he spends nothing or 250m this summer if the team is being coached in way contradicting to what he wants. Read that Gakpo was bought after the insistence of Ljinders and not an actual Klopp choice. Whoever made the decision it makes zero sense. But the diminishing influence as it seems to me of Klopp is my major worry. This is a team with a confused identity.

Exactly Lucky. I’d love Klopp to walk in tomorrow and roll his sleeves up and make whatever drastic changes are need to be done done. Grab the situation by the horns and get it sorted. So far he hasn’t shown that at all. I don’t want him sacked at all but i also dont want this situaion to continue. If he doesn’t feel he can get it back to how it was then he should be thinking what is best for himself and the team but that should be his and his families decision, like he has always said.

For me there are two choices. Klopp either rolls up his sleeves and takes back control, stamping his authority and image on the team. Or if he hasn’t got it in him anymore which hearing about his stress and what his wife says wouldn’t surprise me then he needs to hand over. This situation, the third option, cannot carry on.
De Zebri has impressed me a lot the few times I’ve seen Brighton but it has only been a few times. You’ve also got the sale/not a sale thing going on which will always complicate a manager and staff overhaul.
