Chucky I k ow you were, I think its chucky and nil that are struggling to under the difference.
For chucky. If you buy a player for 50m and you have 1×30 instalments and 2x10m agreed over 3 years with the seller. You sell after 1 year for 40m even though you have only paid 30m you still meed to pay the original seller the remaining 20m.
It’s like selling a car you have a loan on before the loan is paid off. Non ownership does not invalidate the loan repayments.

Nobody would sell a player for 50m in 5 installments. I think your getting actual payments and amortisation mixed up? Not the same thing!
If you sell a player before you’ve paid all installments you still need to pay.

Amortisation is a paper exercise for FFP which is limited to 5 year but not applicable to Chelsea are not in Europe this season. The PLs own rules does not have this 5 years thing and can be spread across the entire 8 years contact which makes it managable.
The actual payment is not the same as amortisation and will have been agreed between the clubs, usually 3 or 4 lump sums plus a few performance/achievement clauses.
So the fee between the two clubs and amortisation are two different things. Probably best not to be too concerned as they haven’t done anything wrong, be more concerned about our own club.

Nil I posted earlier how Chelsea can spend so much, they have not broken any rules. We only ourselves to blame.

Cant really add anymore to what Sean said. Really embarrassing stuff from Liverpool. I can see us going into the season as is with no proper no 6.

Explains how Chelsea can keep spending# but here’s the bulk of it:
“These new UEFA regulations came into force earlier this summer, although they do not look retrospectively at transfers, which means Chelseaβs business that had already been concluded prior would not fall foul of regulations.
The rules, however, only apply to UEFAβs Financial Fair Play framework, which is only applicable to clubs who are competing in UEFA competitions. The Premier League has its own set of regulations that as yet do not prohibit amortising deals over longer periods. That means for this season, with regards to the Premier League, the teams that are impacted are Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Brighton and Aston Villa.”

Lots of speculation as to what is happening. Agent is forcing Caicedo to remain in London because he’s offered more of a fee by Chelsea. BHA fuming because verbal agreement was made and now the agent has gone back on it. Liverpool paid significantly over the odds knowing Chelsea cannot match it. Chelsea offering players to BHA, cancelling Tyler Adams transfer to funnel funds for Caicedo. BHA as far as I know not talking to Chelsea after they missed the “auction” cut off date.
It’s all a bit messy now!
Whatever is going on we will find out soon enough but it’s pretty entertaining for a transfer!

“Thank Goodness we not getting Caciedo. Decent player but nothing special but itβs not even that, itβs the massive amount of money they tried to extort out of us. Just not worth it.”
Wonder how well this comment will look if the reports of an improved Chelsea bid and the player having 2nd thoughts on Liverpool are correct.

Yes Bellingham was cheaper but as we all know the stated figure is only part of it. Bit like Haalands fee to city there were millions not reported in agent/family fees and other bonuses. Jude is also on Salah like wages, I’m guessing Caicedo will be less.

We were tentatively linked with Neuhaus about 2 years ago but nothing since. He has had ligament damage last year and his value according to transfermarkt.de has dropped.
We are still linked with Gravenberch, but his reason to leave Munich is for more playing time. Will he get that at Liverpool? Plus he is on 150k a week.
Since the loss of Fabinho we need someone whose main role is DM and neither of those two are. We may turn to Gravenberch after a DM is purchased, but we might find ourselves in the position of going through the season without one.
The sporting director is only on a short term contract and giving how the Lavia deal has gone I think it won’t be extended.

Who says we don’t have 2 or 3 alternatives? But should we be going for them just because our no 1 has been signed up instantly? Sorry Nil no offence but your coming across as one of those impatient fans who want a shiny new signing now!
We are not the only team struggling to get our targets, ask Chelsea! Or even Munich with Kane. The smaller teams don’t roll over regarding transfers the way the used to.

Fsg have nothing to do with buy or selling players. Not a thing. If you need to blame someone blame JΓΆrg Schmakdtke or even Klopp himself.
Neves went following the money and I don’t think us or any other big team were ever interested in him. He seems to be loved by fans but not much by managers.

I agree with Alfie, Southampton have set their price and they are under no obligation to accept less. If Liverpool cannot meet it that’s our fault not theirs.
Not on here but there’s been a lot of stomping of feet by liverpool fans demanding this transfer. Its pretty embarrassing.
Regarding Salah, his agent has said he isn’t going anywhere this season. Can see him moving next summer, he will be 32 and 1 year left on his contract and whilst his value will be lower we will still get something. He of course will still demand an obscene wage and the way he is he will still be at the top of his game. The guy is like Ronaldo, a machine.

Matip is coming right in a 3 when in possession. Would rather have Gomez there when using such a tactic if Konate isn’t playing and restrict Matip to more conventional back 4.

I think 90% of all liverpool goals will come from the right side of defence being exposed. With Konate there’s a chance he can sort it as he has pace, but Matip? You could see with BM’s 2nd goal he could run fast enough to close the angle giving Gnarby far too much space for an easy goal for Sane.

Had a look at the Chelsea preseason line ups and it seems like Enzo plus a kid in the 2 of a 4231? Not that kids cannot be great players, they are probably similar age to Lavia who we are after, just I never heard of them.

The Saudi’s won’t joint the uefa CL, they’ll just throw enough money at their own version so all thr top teams join that instead. Voila a new super league is born, but now you look forward to away days in sunny Riyadh too!

Stolen from another forum but made me chuckle regarding the Mbappe bid
“heard talk of Β£700m a year for the player himself…….footballt has not just eaten itself, but shat itself out too”
Its another nail in the coffin for me. I’m actually starting to feel ashamed that I part of this greed machine otherwise known as football.

For all the cheating, bringing the game into disrepute and generally contributing to the death of the game more than any other team you have to hand it to City they do employ the very best available. And I’m not just talking about the lawyers! They are a very well run club.
