Haven’t even noticed the ref which usually means he’s having a good game.
What controversy do you mean Nil?

Goldbridge might be a Utd fan but I’ll forgive him for that as he’s usually entertaining and with this I think he’s spot on. The PL is at the biggest crisis it’s faced and no matter what happens with City, potentially Chelsea and maybe others it will have massive ramifications.

It was voted on by rhe clubs and the ban didn’t get the two thirds of votes it needed. The clubs voting against it were Newcastle United, Sheffield United, Man City, Chelsea, Everton, Wolves, Nottingham Forest, and Burnley.
Agree with you it’s another way to cheat but sadly some teams don’t care.

21st November 2023 at 8:00 am in reply to: Internationals – European Championship Qualifying Games #210897I think if Bellingham continues his current trajectory England could have the very best player in the world in their team. He’s probably the best midfielder in the world already now that de Bruyne is getting on.
Remember when Birmingham retired his shirt and we all laughed at them. Maybe they knew more than we thought!

21st November 2023 at 6:09 am in reply to: Internationals – European Championship Qualifying Games #210895Bellingham has already far surpased Foden technically, physically and influence. He’s the best since Gazza, Foden is good but not in the same bracket.

Fully agree with Foxy. When a team cheats its not just about the little help they gained for themselves there’s a knock on affect for all the teams around them. Everton have shown that they managed to cheat the system, gain an unfair advantage, avoid relegation and get hit with a penalty that has perfect timing so they won’t really suffer. All while Leicester fans suffer because of their cheating. Everton should have been hit with a points deduction to ensure they are relegated.
Funny the tribalism this causes however, you only have to go to the Chelsea TT pages and see their fans already trying to justify it. “I don’t see a problem with an owner spending what he wants” and “Any buisness should have owner funding, what’s the problem in football” or words to that effect. And they’ve not even been charged yet, still under investigation.
I’ve not heard a single City fan put their hand up and say yeah what we did was wrong. It’s all that we’re jealous, or it’s part of some weird cartel thing to keep Utd and Liverpool at the top. They are so blinded by their success they cannot see how much their club has brought thr game into disrepute.
Relegate all 3 clubs and any other found cheating these rules. If Everton received a 10 point deduction for a single “small” charge then there’s still hope a number of City’s 115 will stick and they can be removed and let the other non cheaters get back to competitive sport.

Everton are lucky there are 3 dreadful teams in the league. They just got docked 10 points when it’s not decemeber and they are not even bottom. They will be OK.

Better lawyers.
Just kidding although true. Think it’s the complexity of City that’s causing delays, 115 charges takes time, Plus City are deliberately causing obstructions like they did with the uefa case.
Teams threatening to sue Everton.
Can imagine the giant can of worms that will open if City are found guilty. The PL is the loser even if they win.

Regarding Anthony it doesn’t matter if hes a closet City fan, utd fan, Bolton, Altrincham or wherever the fact hes feom that area always brings up the same arguments about integrity. Even if he is genuinely trying to be fair, one contentious decision and it blows up again.
Why doesn’t PGMOL just avoid this situation by excluding him from games with teams from Manchester?

They both had hold of each other. Difference is Haaland got slightly ahead and then throws himself to the floor
Poor refereeing again. Lucky lucky City. Again.

Utd have tried to get a manager that ticked all the boxes in the past and it didn’t work. Van Gaal and Mourinho I think we can all agree won lots, known to be tactically astute and bags of personality, but not right for Utd.
There’s no magic equation, sometimes it just feels right. Klopp was in tune with the supporters from the very first day and although we weren’t great at the start most fans could see the direction he was taking the team (one or two as always calling for his head but not the bulk of the support). He just clicked with the club, both his personality and his style of play. Fit like an arse on a bucket to quote one of his own!
Ten Hag is probably a good coach, he doesnt come across as an idiot or anything. I think the players bought during his time have been the problem. Players not only disruptive but poor output too like Sancho and Anthony, or good at the start but fading due to age as everyone anticipated like Erikson, Varane and Casemiro. Out of the signings and the hundreds of millions spent I think only that wee argentine lad in defence has been a success and he’s injured currently!
Looking at the strong Ajax connection on the players bought in you’d think Ten Hag has had a big influence and that I think has been Utds problem.
And making that winey little horrid bloke Fernandes captain wasn’t exactly a masterstroke either!

Very nice goal from Zinchenko.
Utd winning but Luton still have a glimmer of hope…

Why we shouldn’t switch off and declare a game boring when it seems its not going the way you want it to!
The touch for the equaliser was exquisite.

When I think of Fergie it was more dealing with Beckham, Stam, Ince etc. Can’t remember further back to be honest.
When Klopp arrived I’d say he was still of a pretty high status having won two Bundesliga and a CL final appearance. Obviously not as high as now but still…
We don’t know what is going on in the dressing room, if it’s split, if Ten Hag has the support or Sancho etc. It may not be as easy as saying Ten Hag should just get rid of these players, maybe his bosses think actually might be easier just to get rid of him. Lots of variables we don’t know about.

“Ferguson got rid of quality players for less. So have Klopp and Pep.”
Problem is Ten Hag doesn’t have the status of those three managers. Pretty sure if they said they want someone out they would be backed no matter what, does Ten Hag demand such authority and respect from his employers?
I actually feel sorry for him, I think he’s in the right with needing to sort out the bad personalities, just think he’ll be the one that looses in the end.

Just seen the highlights agree with everyone on here no way a red card and very harsh penalties too.
Went on the TT utd page as that’s always entertaining after a Utd loss and it seems the general concenus (amid all the swearing and name calling) is that Varane has “checked out” already for his predicted transfer to Saudi. I think his body is so broken he cannot play to the standard anymore and Real knew this would happen hence selling him. Why didn’t Utd forsee this when every fan probably predicted it? And then put him on 325k or something!
As for Mount, no idea. Seems very odd to pay so much and then rarely play him. You would think he’d be a better option than Erikson.
Maybe Ten Hag has lost the dressing room with his strict discipline route, but to be honest with the personalities Utd have its needed. Sancho was known to be an arse in Germany so why did Utd pay so much for him? Did they research him enough? But at the end the squad will always win and the manager is the one that loses his job.

7th November 2023 at 7:35 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 11 Sparklers and Fireworks :-) #210679Should definatly critise Ange.
Down to 9 men but at 1-1 and you still put your defensive line on the half way line knowing the opposion now how 2 men spare and have time to ping balls over for very fast forwards to run onto! It was one of the worst tactical displays I think I’ve seen in the PL.
If Chelsea had better fowards it could have been a record score.

7th November 2023 at 5:22 am in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 11 Sparklers and Fireworks :-) #210662Thought Ange was supposed to be thr next big thing? Don’t think I’ve ever seen such terrible tactics when going not one but two men down. Even still at 1-1 he had a crazy high line and I think if Chelsea has better quality forwards it could have been 8 or 9.
All the moaning about Oliver but I think all the big decisions were correct. We all know Adlab has an agenda against him but not sure what anyone else expects? It was probably one of the hardest matches to ref and I think he did as good as anyone could with such madness going on around him.
