Mak, of course you are right an i mentioned passions were rightly high….

but look at the difference between many of your fans compared to say City fans…they COULD yet still miss PL too as well as CL, this was surely their best year to win the CL….

im sure they are gutted and passionate but you dont see them bemoaning the other team, calling unfair this and that and blaming anyone else for missing out….its a perception thats given off by many (not all) of your fans hhe longer your wait for serious silverware goes on….they would have more right saying we have pep, spent the most etct etc

your team has spent but spent well, have a top manager, play great football and challenge, all you can hope for or any team…..Arsenal won a lot less than we should have during our “good phase” including a CL final loss to Barca!!

football like life is unjust, you didnt deserve to lose 3-0 and played very well, i think it hurts more as this year you can and did compete, last time it was more of a surprise as you still had glaring weaknesses that had yet to be addressed….

i see why both matches are in your mind, but you were not as a good a team last year, playing a lucky RM side that were very poor all round and on the wane far more than this Barca team and who literally cheated as they always do and 2 shocking errors you cant do much about, this time you played better than the oppo, and were unlucky but not unlucky in a dodgy decision way just in a results way…

football….its a tough old world!

999 IF it happens at all then i think it will largely be a good thing, maybe the odd flair up but that would happen regardless, might find that its quite a good experience of both sets of fans travelling together to such far parts of the world

pretty sure both City, and Pool (and several other clubs) speant ridonculous amounts of money the time Leicester won the PL….money helps, its important but to say Pool or anyone else cant or wont win the PL because of City/cash and Pep is silly IMHO

it was the same with Chelsea, they won lots but not every year for a decade…

should I moan because when we actually did manage to win the PL a few times we were up against one of the best PL teams in united who had always spent so much more cash?

if Klopp does end up leaving with no trophy it will be down to Klopp and his team, he could win a domestic cup, the PL or any other on offer and has shown this by consistant challenges…he also managed to beat a pretty good Bayern team when at Dortmund….

i hate to do it but i agree wit the chuckle brother, every team (almost) at the time they won the PL spent BIG money and could be said to have an unfair advantage, including with Blackburn…..

in fact over this period the only club who hasnt is Leicester and in comparison, Arsenal….

ive said this before, those saying trhe PL is bought and complaining its the same for all clubs, Man U always the richest and spent the most…Blackburns owner started the process of “buying the PL” though it cost him personally, then you have City and Chelsea

i dont think city will be as dominant as united were for as long as they were either….

pleaseantly surprised by our game, we seem to only be turning up to games at home and in the EL! maybe we can wiun the damn thing after all that would be nice…still doubtfull though!

im with the chuckle brother on this one, “Where he came from”? erm it wasnt Pool, you bought him (because you saw something) he performed whilst also biting and offering racism and missed loads of games and STILL nearly won you a PL title, you sold him…. Barca bought him, and the rest as they say is history…this isnt some youth player MADE by liverpool who should bow and scrape even after scoring an important goal against you, im sure he has a soft spot for Pool and likes the club and fans (maybe less so now) you seem to think if anyonoe has ever played for you they should ONLY love you and do nothing else! crazy attitude, goid forbid had the other one scored!! you were not “robbed” the ref was decent, there are no issues that have split TV and media as you claim for a peno, you played VERY well, if not better than them but those SMALL margins went in there favour…its not even oiver you really ARE good enough to turn this around at home, it wont be easy but play like last night and have more luck and YES you could

let me put it this way, if that was my team last night, and we played the same and created the chances we did and conceded the goals we did i would be hurting, proud and having a gentle pop at the players who allowed them to score and didnt score for us not their team, the RM in the final was a different kettle of fish you were literally cheated out of that game and 2 bad GK errors to compound issues, last nights game couldnt be more different and this is why i start to find you lot as fans a little tiresome sometimes….

Messi didnt put 5 0r 6 past you, he put 2 past you, both good goals and no issues….
how exactly did he “behave like a bit of a bellend”?
He ran his socks off got fouled loads, and behaved no worse than any professinal footballer in any game ever! he wasnt cheating, he wasnt winding up fans, he ran until the whistle blew when his team were already 3-0 up…..

Messi has tnaked all of our clubs at some point as have Barca and our clubs at those times wouldnt have played half as well as your team last night, this wasnt like the RM game last year with certain players, this is just sour grapes on top of a lot of understandable emotion, but frabkly its letting you pool supporters down

Sean mate, from what i have read here and the other place, most non liverpool fans that dont have an anti liverpool agenda have said it was a flattering score line, you played well and although 3-0 flattered it could well have been 5….it could also have been 5-3 with the chances you missed and i have seen that too…you were very unlucky not to score, and just 1 goal and you are still well in the tie and obviously would have changed the nature of the ga,e and the result, thing is though, as well as you did play the chances were missed as were the 2 that could have made it 5, its the nature of the beast….i know you must feeling so annoyed and i dont blame you but you played so well its just “one of those”….

reading so much hatred for Suarez after he scored and his “antics”….. i just dont get it, he is the same player he has always been IMHO the good and bad parts of his game

it was a great goal scored at home in CL semi and he celebrated…and thats disrespectful to liverpool?
he makes the most of challeges?

seriously as much as i do like and respect liverpool and many of their fans they dont gelp themselves with some of the stuff they caome out with and the vitriol and feeling of being hard done by by all the powers that be….im sure it was never like that for everyone else in the 70s & 80’s 😉

ok Dr NIck you are of course right…but not in the same context now is it, i for one purely as a football fan DO feel privaleged to see the likes of Messi and Ronaldo play as they do, i was to young for Pele and very young for Maradonna to fully appreciate….on a sporting , lover of football aspect we wont see the like of messi for a good long while…..

id hope for a cure to a major disease out of a choice of the 2 though! as i know damn well 999 would

i do love a morning catch up of these pages especially when Nils hit the woodpecker 😉

my take on the game last night:

fantastic game for the neutral and much like the city/spuds game was a real proper game, 2 teams wanting to score and win, lots of skill all over the pitch.

Klopp got it wrong much like Poch did, Barca were just Barca, rode their luck then were clinical when it mattered.

It wasnt a 3-0 game though and pool should feel hard done by not to get an away goal but thats how it goes.

I had no issue with the ref, the Barca players overly being “european” to me it was just a great game (both teams) and a slightlky biased final score line, that said if Dembele could finish it could have been 5…..

understand the liverpoool frustratons and we all want to win trophies but not many can, id still be super happy wioth my team come season end as a pool fan but also very “by the grace of god, it could have been”….

unlucky lads, Roma turned it around last year though so its not out of the question
