interesting point raised by someone, would Poch have even done as well as he has, had he not already had a young HK breaking through (who won the GB a few season running)?
he makes a great point that without this one player who was already at the club, he and indeed spurs would have achieved even less and maybe poch wouldnt be touted as the messiah?

1st October 2019 at 8:22 am in reply to: Isn't it time that we stopped supporting terrible companies? #48917interesting view point Brian, interesting world times ahead, we of course have the never ending story (brexit), North Korea and China and of course the mess that is the middle east with an ever increasingly bellegerent Iran…someting seems like something will give it some point, i thought the attack on Saudi might have already triggered something …

how irrelevant have arsenal and united become, what in years gone by would have been a top top match was a squalid draw, dissapointed in my team, they were there for the taking but we showed how scared we are, rochdale gave them more of a game….oh well i cna but hope it improves as the season goes on!!

30th September 2019 at 3:38 pm in reply to: Isn't it time that we stopped supporting terrible companies? #48852interesting what you say about automation Brian, we all think of low paid chinese sweat shops undercutting the rest of the world but if as you say they are actually embracing automation more than we are then i fnd that interesting
a reason given for not doing more of that in the west is the loss of jobs 9until new industries can pick up the slack) and you would think its an issue for china too having lifted much of thepopulation out of poverty?

30th September 2019 at 10:56 am in reply to: Isn't it time that we stopped supporting terrible companies? #48837Brian, the documentary in question is a 3 parter (1 hour each) and follows chine only within the last 7 years since Ji Xing Ping took power, how china has moved forward, raised its people, tackled crime and terroorism, spent money in countries around the world and incrwased militarily adn basically how powerful as a nation the truly are in world terms now, it was a very interesting item to watch and i learned much, i would recomend and would also like to get your thoughts on this having lived and worked their and having a more rounded opinion maybe

worse than that Pagan, reading the article they were offered free cars from the club but turned them down (likely because they wanted ot stay out and get on it withot the club knowing how late) the rest of the squad used the free cars and left around 8pom like professionals!
and to top it off one of them was part of the drink aware thing for the club!!
looks a nasty crash too
no accounting for fools

N17, thats the ticket and one of the reasons im less upset than maybe i should be with my club, we had blessed period and it felt amazing at the time to ride that euphoric wave, but no team has a god given right, even the mighty united or liverpool….in our day it was united and chelsea and we JUST managed to do enough over a few years now look at us 3 clubs and we have been replaced by city and pool who themselves were in the football wilderness eating crap from rival fans for many years
its the nature of the beast
that said, the most frustrating thing for spuds and arsenal fans is when you do such great work to bridge that gap both in stadium, squad, manager and sponsors that we seem to stop and dont build on it (united are suffering because of this now) to stay at the sharp end you can never stand still, even one summer is to much as your now finding out and its this frustration of being so close but so far away and the fear of dropping back to previous levels….we are slowly getting back, a ways to go but looks hopeful, its why i think your club is on a knife edge with all of these things, if Poch stays and gets say £150-200m in the summer and many of his first chice buys, the squad and style will be refreshed and hope restored…if not then you slowly fade over time and other clubs move on
