its a strange one, i think most thought woodward who is great at getting the corporate side done with deals is also responsible for football matters and is crap at that and has no gootball pedigree, this states the opposite but in a way is more worrying, if the article is true and all football decisons are made by football people and the manager then what the hell has gone on for the last few years?! very odd!anyone seen the SAF match fixng rumours?

i jest and i know its right what you say but the perception of a few transfers can certainly be looked at in such a way….especially the loan systme hoovering up as much young talent as possible with no intention of every playing them or trying….
besides i didnt say JUST to stop them, it was a “we need a player, they want them, 2 birds one stone” kinda thing….
anyway im quite rightly on a hiding to nothing so lets swiftly move on 🙂

im not saying they bought a £50m player JUST to stop city, im saying htere were no united rumours until the city ones started, same for sanchez and then they just stumped up more to get them, im sure someone thought they would work out but i still think NEITHER are what united wanted or needed at the time they were bought, considering Fred has barely played and played tosh when he has might back it up ;P
anyway its a “perspective” that opposing fans can and do have with a few clubs and various times and i stand by my thoughts and am happy to be rinsed for them 🙂

Ed how can you talk about united and scouting with a straight face?!!! what the hell have any scouts for any manager done for a very long time? what gems have been unearthed? what established pros have been brought in and fired?
from what i hear form most united fans your so called scouting is a joke so in all honesty it wouldnt surprise me!
they want him? then he is good enough for us to, lets nip in and stop them strengthening and be better opurselves with no real plan
seriously waht has fred done, whats his best position, is he worth £50m? etc
of course i am most likely wrong and it is fan logic but i do think it does happen with certina players and especially youth/loan players where the potential cost and loss is less….especially for clubs that make £700m profit a y ear when they are tosh!! ;P

yes ban them, ok so the euros or WC are smaller….GOOD!!!!!!! there are to many now and its the only way that clubs and suporters will change or do more and if they cant change or do more then they can have their own racist league….

come on i know the players themselves may not have spoken at the time but there was plenty of interest form city, and at the time (for both)( it did seem that uniteds only interest was after city became interested
i actually think both were bought to stop city than because united genuinly wanted them, but would have thought they were getting 2 decent players on top….alas that didnt quite work out
and to my mind at least Mayureen has form for this, starting in the first stint at chelsea, thats why they suddenly hoovered up so many young talents for around erurope on loan including Lukaku, he was very much sort after and heavily linked with Arsenal and others and the of course out came the cheque book and off he went to play aty every club that wasnt chelsea! they did have some fine strikers at the time mind….in fact i think Chelsea current ban is down to his behavious and ethos (not alone)
i do however think a few clubs with the rescources have bought players only to stop rivals having them and no other reason….
thats my tuppence 🙂

2 from hudson and a tody hatrick from Nketiea last night, both are very exciting players, Nketiah is doing OK at leeds, hope he gets more playing time there and comes home next year ready for the first team along with our current crop of decent players

i think it is right to ban the club/nation, if that club/nation cannot identify match going fans and eject and ban for life then the authorities should blanket ban
its a funny old world we live in to be sure but the fact is rasicm is not a football probelm it is soicietal and cultural and only when such big tv sporting events are shown are the issues broiught in to the mian stream, they are there all the time
god help us all if we ever meet alien life, we have no chance of a peaceful relationship when we cant get on with our own for looking different!

“Am I the only one who thinks all this fuss over the Racist chanting is so Hypocritical and is taking away talking about the Game. Before anyone says I am racist, I am a brother who grew up in the UK and played football all my life. I have seen us in the UK go from 10 x worse than we saw last night to where we are today which is far from perfect.
We got to where we are in the UK today without any of the sanctions, bad press or any help from the clubs or the FA. We let worse than that carry on for years and years! We got here today, where we think we can look down our noses at the Eastern Europeans, because our whole society is just more multicultural. Places like Bulgaria are just not as multicultural and they are years behind us and they are doing exactly the same as we did in the UK years ago.
Very basically I saw that if your team had no black players the racist chanting was all the rage and it was the whole stadium singing Racist songs but as soon as most teams got brothers in their own team and especially when they were one of the star players it died down. You can not stop some people in society being Racist so you will always get idiots shouting crap or some numpty posting a racist tweet. It is impossible to stop.
As a player I would be pissed if the game got stopped because some of the crowd started making Monkey noises or whistling or booing. It would never effect me and actually drive me to play better. I think they are just basically stupid and whatever I do wont make them less racist!
As a sanction you don’t stop and ruin the game for the team and the travelling Fans. The FA or FIFA just closes the stadium to home fans in the next game and if they don’t stop then ban them from playing home games in their own country. Alternatively they play all their games behind closed doors.
As I said we were worse and its Hypocritical we give them this much grief and then we don’t talk about the match like it was inconsequential. “_____________________________
