A recent training video on the main Chelsea site. These guys get on so well and have some real fun as well as all the hard work. Worth a look.

Great sides re-group in adversity, and face-down the threat.
This Chelsea are undoubtedly a great side._____________________________

A draw away from home v Liverpool is a credible result any day of the week. To do so considering the circumstances is outstanding and shows how far these guys have come in 8 odd months. Watch the videos on the official Club website of the comradery, the togetherness of these players and you understand how that translates to matchday. They go to war together. Hand to ball, ball, to hand? Probably doesnβt matter greatly inside the penalty area so I guess the penalty was the correct decision however that is where it ends. That, to me was not intended, the speed with which it happened, accidental and a penalty yes, send off no. Really it ruined the game as a spectacle as we all knew what to expect from there on in. The fact they got out of there with a point will have galvanised them even more than if there had been no red card and they had only drawn the match. Sensational effort and result and the half time subs were perfect as it turned out even if Kanteβs subbing had been a forced one. Kovacic did a great job in his place. Bringing on Thiago Silva also significant in achieving the end result. Tuchel impresses more and more with each match with selection and his tactical nous. One worry I had was playing Alonso against Liverpool in the first place with their speed on the counter and the fact Chelsea were not going to dominate possession and the game generally and then leaving him out there after half time however the boss knows better than any of us. Enjoy the two week break guys and take care 999.

Great set of fixtures to start with when you are in very good form which, it appears, we are. Perfect time to get a swag of tough fixtures out of the way and three of them (including Arsenal) are away and good to play City at home first of all to strengthen the possibility of good point accumulation in this initial run of matches.

This has a nil nil draw written all over it. Should be a riveting nil nil though.

The club ‘s reaction to our performance. Good to see the club backing its player with his choice of words or maybe he picked it up from them. :)))
Analysing #ARSCHE. π
Looking back at a dominant performance yesterday in north London. ‡οΈ

I have no issue with Lukaku using the word dominant however would prefer if he were to use it after the match this coming weekend instead of yesterday :)))))

Great start for Lukaku and the full 90 minutes under his belt.
We toyed with them, So confident with playing out from the back, flirting with danger yet fully in control and dominating possession. We must surely have had 70% of the ball at least. If I was an Arsenal supporter paying good money to see that performance Iβd be pretty filthy about it. Really they were never at the races. We really made them look silly. If that is the best they have to offer then they are mid table at the absolute best. Men versus boys, it really was and our guys will get even better with every outing. The value of having a proven 30 goal a season beast of a striker will take us to the next level, whatever that may be.

Whilst Chelsea supporters continue to give Rafa grief because they simply don’t like him, this was his result of being our Manager – pass mark? I guess that being the case a club like Everton may be a good fit. They might just win something one day.
The Spaniard took Chelsea to a third-place finish, won the Europa League and got to semi-finals in both domestic cups. For 10 days, Chelsea held both European trophies after becoming only the fourth club to lift every European honour.

Notnice, spot on re John Terry. He’s slowly but surely plying his trade at Villa as the assistant. His progress will be interesting once he gets his first role. A bit of a larrikin though which could cause him the odd problem or two.

Time will tell with Frank. Hope he is more successful than Zola was as a manager.

Frank’s stint at Derby was successful but it was an easy enough initiation into the world of football management when you consider he had the likes of Mount, Timori, Ashley Cole, Marriott and Harry Wilson at his disposal yet they still missed out on promotion. Clearly he should have stayed on at Derby and tried again however it was likely that the abovementioned players would move on anyhow and he struggle there. Frank needs plenty of time learning his trade before plying it at the highest level. I think it is a fair bet that his approach to the job, clearly favouring some of the players and some decision making tactically frustrated the players and things were not right. Wish him well moving forward however Tuchel is different class and has proven it. Will Frank become as good a manager? I have my doubts. Frank the player and Frank the Manager reminds me of Zola the player and Zola the manager.

Instant turn around of fortunes in our case to me would be brewing internal dressing room trouble over a period of time with Frank not having the experience to come up with the answers, having favourites, over playing others and tactically playing into opponents’ hands as a result. Simply, under Frank the opponents’ managers had us sussed out and as good as beaten before a ball had even been kicked. The turn around under Tuchel was pretty much instantaneous with a scoreless home draw with Wolves as he rectified the defensive deficiencies with a few tweaks here and there. Simply Frank the footballer was a natural, a gifted legend. One of the best. Frank the manager has a long way to go and needs experience back in the Championship or less even. Look at Zola the player compared to Zola the manager, a pretty good comparison to Frank I reckon. Big chance Frank will only be just another average manager and that would in no way tarnish what he achieved in the game as a player. Same, in time, may be the case with Solskjaer. Will United kick on or was this run into second something that just peters out into the new season. A United side over the years doesn’t make the final of a big European competition and lose to the likes of Villareal notwithstanding it was only on penalties. A firing on all cylinders United wins that game in a canter 3 or 4 nil.

“As for Chelsea, the challenge will be to transfer their cup form to the league.”
I think they did in the main against the likes of City and Liverpool however their main need now is to identify how to beat the team that set up for a draw or nick a winning counter attacking goal. They are rather naive in that respect wheras the old United sides always found a way, especially in Fergie time..

We’d have to keep Kante and Rudiger fit for 38 matches though. Kante’s presence in particular in that side is immeasurable.

We can blame this and we can blame that however one thing that must be taken into account is the fact that Chelsea played and defeated City three times in seven odd weeks. Did Pep get it all tactically wrong three times or is there more to it than Pep’s decision making? Chelsea also beat Liverpool under Tuchel – played four won four, five goals for and only one against. City were 20 points clear of Chelsea at the end of the season and Chelsea will be expected to challenge City and Liverpool for the title next season. I guess to close a twenty point gap from one season to the next indicates that Chelsea under Tuchel might just be the real deal. If anything it would be good for the Premiership to not become a Scottish Premier League so its time for the likes of Chelsea and United to recreate the big four to the extent that any of the four clubs could win the title going into March or April.

More so than the famous slip was the body language of Anelka before he took his penalty which was shocking and the attempt even worse. A striker not willing to take the responsibility on in a penalty shoot out was extremely poor form. He’d convinced himself he was going to fluff it already.
