So very well said Nil. Leicester’s title around 8 years ago would be the most recent previous time such a fairytale happened.

No where else to post miscellaneous so I’ll post this here.

Massive congratulations to West Ham raising a European trophy. Their supporters must finally be experiencing what we at Chelsea have for 20 odd years. That’s 2 down and 1 to go for three Italian clubs to make finals and now likely lose the lot as it is unlikely Inter will beat City (but you never know I guess) . That advert they have proudly been trying to whip everyone up into a frenzy for the last month being in all 3 finals has come back to bite them big time. Embarrassed much? 🙂

The season may be over now and for us Chelsea supporters it could not have come soon enough. What a nightmare it has been BUT one of our own continues a very real and sad and serious health battle which has rocked us to the core. Please think of him and say a few prayers for him. I am hoping that he is well cared for and comfortable at this time and is able to read some of our comments. Thinking of you Paul.

Pretty quiet around these parts now Nil. Everybody seems to have had enough of a season so condensed by a six week World Cup break which should never ever be allowed to happen again. Congratulations to the clubs that have provided their supporters with plenty of joy, City, Arsenal to an extent, Newcastle, United, Brentford and Brighton who have really impressed. To answer your question I think Everton at home to Bournemouth and a draw appears to be enough to keep them up unless Leeds can win by three or four clear goals is the top tip. Everton should win that anyway with Bournemouth having little to play for and Everton everything.

home game, last game of the season, crowd expectation and maybe Newcastle fragile needing a win. I hate repeating myself but there you go.

Newcastle have to come to the Bridge on the last day and I’m expecting Chelsea to play well in front of the home supporters to close a dismal season. Newcastle may well be fragile under pressure of having to collect three points, the crowd will be noisy and I’m expecting at least a draw in that one. Tomorrow Newcastle entertain the entertainers in Brighton – never say never there either, Brighton are a very good side and may be good for a draw at least. I think Liverpool need to close in on the 4 goal differential with Newcastle and try and turn that into a positive. That could happen on the last day at Southampton. Yes Nil there is plenty to be positive about striving for 4th.

Arsenal all but confirming the destination of the league title and in the process allowing a rampant Manchester City to either confirm it or even celebrate it against Chelsea next Sunday. What is more they are within 8 goals of the magic 100 total and may even give that a nudge in the process. I don’t think I’ll tune in for that one 🙂

Agh man this page is being neglected and should be saved from page two of the threads as it is our home page.

Diabolical first half vs Forest and as for Mendy…. well awful and worse than Kepa overall. Better second half and Sterling actually put in some sort of effort today and this after having apparently spoken about wanting to commit to the future Chelsea. Second goal made staying up all hours of the night worthwhile but still only a draw at home against fellow strugglers. What is Frank up to again? Surely Mudryk was worthy of some game time at 2-2 with us looking like the only team out there chasing the win and Forest hanging on for their precious point. He gets a lot of criticism and we see something game after game where we, the ordinary football supporter say to ourselves why oh why (or why not) Frank!!

Finally!! It will be interesting to see who Poch wants to keep with probably a dozen players needing to be sold off and then incoming players Poch’s choice and not that of the owners. I’d say for sure Poch has made stipulations about how involved the owners get in squad related matters. Ideally bugger all but determining the wages and writing out the cheques 🙂

Well Nil after those two results today Liverpool more of a chance than they were beforehand for a top four spot. Both Newcastle and United have a revitalised Chelsea to play yet so you never know :)))

Yes Sean the owner is too hands on with everything, needs to appoint (likely) Poch, let Poch filter out what he considers dead wood to trim the squad down and balance the books at the same time for FFP and bring in a 20 plus goal centre forward,

Amazingly the players had to ask for a Physio guy to be reinstated and the owner obliged but only one day a week on Sundays. That is how farcical things are. Little wonder the players have lost the plot. This is apart from the huge squad not having change rooms for everybody and some changing in other rooms or the corridor. Unbelievable right!?!

Liverpool going to end up 5th and Thursday night footie. Hardly ideal if they want to make an effort to challenge City for the title next season nil. United nor Newcastle will relinquish their top four positions what with current form, games in hand and points in the bank. I am hoping completely missing the European scene for the upcoming season will do the Chelsea squad the world of good in their current situation trying to get the club back in the groove. The only problem I guess is getting in a good manager and a striker worth his salt that is willing to miss midweek footie for a season.

I think of Paul every day and say a little prayer on his behalf. Very sad times and as one of Paul’s loves is his football club, we’d all like to see at the very least a decent 90 minute effort, if only as you said, to put a smile on Paul’s face.

                                  God bless you Paul.

The mighty Chelsea still have to play both of them yet away from home. Maybe we can be mightier than we have been and have some say in where the title is heading although it is doubtful considering the mess we are in right now. We can still have a role to play re the top four having to play both United away and Newcastle at home. We can still have something to strive for the rest of this season in being spoilers 🙂

Maybe Nil, just maybe. Just the same, as I mentioned above our form under Potter started off well as indicated by our results against AC Milan who have since kicked on well.

Insane how fortunes change during a season. In the Group stages we beat Milan 3-0 at home and 2-0 away. They are in the semi finals of the CL, Chelsea are out and we are on our knees not being able to score a goal let alone win a football match. This is how far we have sunk in the last 6 months. And yes those two wins against Milan were both under Potter NOT Tuchel. Potter took over on September 8th 2022 and the Milan matches were on 6 and 12 October 2022.

It really is unfortunate that City and Real cannot be paired up in the final. It would have been a sensational spectacle for sure. They are the best two sides by a country mile of what remains. Whichever team from Milan earns the right to play in the final is simply making up the numbers and will likely turn it into a bore-a- thon to try and keep the scoreline respectable and at the same time take it to penalties. I hope there is an early goal in the final to force whichever Milan team to have a go.
