Never had a flu jab in my life, in fact never had the flu in my life lucky me but now I am being told that when I can finally visit the old man I must have had a flu jab and sign a declaration that I have done so. Guess I have no choice. Still baffled by it all.

All these restrictions on the training pitch. What are the restrictions on the pitch when two teams compete once fixtures recommence?

Smacks of desperation. It won’t happen unless it is the real deal. Blood and guts football as we know it or nothing at all.

“so that only leaves the one option, controlled exposure to the virus with the hope it brings in herd immunity.”

A drastic move and where does that leave the vulnerable? They need to stay locked away from danger until it has totally run its course and burnt out and even then there is no guarantee it is not going to be imported from elsewhere once they open the borders internationally. My old man is locked away in a nursing home and I haven’t been allowed to visit him face to face for near on 2 months. This may continue on for ever more the way this is going. It appears that exposure to the disease for someone very old with underlying illnesses is as good as a death sentence and apparently not a very pleasant way to go either.

100% correct Rose. If he comes in contact with one player that reads positive and gets it then we don’t know his personal situation. He may have family members with underlying health issues. Who knows, he may even have some himself. What about these kids that have died from some related covid disease that made their organs swell up. None of those players are desperate to get back to work for financial reasons surely. If the game goes belly up financially then so be it. Life is way more important than lining some greedy bastard’s pockets. The UK is not even close to being safe nor is the US but all Trump is worried about is the economy he reckons he built and winning the upcoming election. Watch their covid-19 cases explode out of control again over the next few weeks. Even without reopening they have been accruing 25,000 plus new cases every day. Trump is a lunatic. At least Boris knows the dangers first hand and is lucky to be alive. He may be a tad more cautious.

I stuffed the years up before – should read as follows:

The only plan they can have is wait, wait, wait. When it is safe to get back into training do so. When they are fit and ready to play do so. When it is safe for supporters to go back and watch matches, do so. This is like a war, a world war. Did they play football in war torn countries between 1939 and 1945 or 1914 and 1919? This is a worldwide war. F–k the football.

Anyway chatting about the football unknown appears to be the way to go so good luck with that. I gather even the players arn’t real keen. Talking football though I was appalled at the abuse Ian Wright received from some youngish moron on Instagram. So very sad.

National Rugby League in Australia well on track to recommence 28 May 2020. Anybody that doesn’t mind something to watch in lieu of the world game that I assume will be broadcast over there. High quality Rugby League a better watch than two cockroaches having an arm wrestle on the kitchen floor.

We talk Premier League and other Countries major leagues on here pretty much totally however what are the futures of all the Championship clubs and those even more vulnerable below them? Are any Premier League clubs looking like they will go belly up if the delay in restarting the football is protracted? What will happen with the Championship and lower League fixtures. Have their seasons already been abandoned ie. null and void?

The new normal means supporters going to, entering and being seated in football stadiums won’t be allowed or happen simply because the 1.5 metre rule can never be followed. Find a vaccine quick or supporting football, as we know it, will never happen again.

Pleased to see statistically things have improved across Europe. Long may that continue. Bless you all.

Western Australia and South Australia have both recorded zero new cases for quite a few days straight now so that could be a really good option. The players would probably have to complete a 14 day isolation on arrival but after that, well I cannot see a problem. After all our NRL (National Rugby League) is starting up for sure on 28 May and the players are going back to work tomorrow to recommence training in preparation.

Cheers Brian. January 2021 would be close to perfect as they could continue on the season from where it left off albeit 12 months on and then get back to some sort of normality.

Sergio Aguero, you and just about every other person on planet Earth. In all walks of life whether you are a professional footballer or a barista at the local coffee shop this is the identical thought process of the majority. The only difference is the likes of Aguero can afford to take time off until things are clearer. Retire and make a dramatic sensational comeback when the world is a better place.

Good question 999. Rugby League even more so is a contact sport which the Australian Government is allowing to restart 28 May 2020 without crowds being present. If we don’t practice social distancing we can be warned by the Police and even fined yet the players can collide bodies, complete tackles, hug each other when the score and celebrate with high fives and whatever else. Doesn’t make any sense to me but glad to have the game back as something to entertain us. Belarus is another strange one, continuing to allow football right through this disaster. It doesn’t appear to have made a major impact on their disease statistics either.

this one not bad, even better if they got in a quality female vocalist but the percussion outstanding, especially with all the bottles toward the end of it.

The infection rate worldwide is going up. The Americans are easing their way back to work because economically they say they have too. Watch their infection rate blow out even further. We are in a cocoon in Australia desperately locking it out. The minute we relent and open everything up our figures will rise. People will go back to normal and forget social distancing and the last month’s burden on the economy and people gernerally will count for nothing.

Already they are talking about the schoolies going back to class room learning, initially one day a week but no social distancing in place in the classroom. WTF there are most likely silent carriers everywhere in society. Surely there is a danger of one of those kids bringing it in from home or elsewhere. So young one brings it home and infects their grandparents next time they see them. Not all old frail people are locked up in nursing homes. They seem to forget that.
