As if they would have lost and Chelsea got some valuable match practice to gel some new players. Havertz got a hatrick, Chilwell got a run out and impressed . Bring it on Spurs.

Timely hatrick by Havertz albeit against average opposition. That’ll give him plenty of confidence. Clean sheet by Willy with numerous saves to make. Not sure Kepa would have achieved same. Anyway Mendy is signed now.

Big win on the weekend lads. Congrats. 100% had to be a red. Not sure why the ref gave the yellow in the first place. Liverpool dominated the match and the score 2-0 was a fair gauge of what happened out there. The first goal was a peach of a goal. The second…..well!! 🙂 Having said that I was quite happy with Chelsea’s second half performance which I watched after the event (switched off when Kepa stuffed up ay 2.45am here) once I knew the score hadn’t blown out beyond 2-0. I think there will be plenty of good times ahead, probably for both clubs. Having watched United flounder it looks like this season will be more of the same with Liverpool and City putting a big points gap on the rest.

If every club was serious about progressing the winners should be Spurs, Watford, WBA, WHU, Manchester Utd, Fulham, Burnley, BHA, Stoke, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester, Newcastle, Liverpool, Villa and Manchester City.
As there may be fringe players getting a run though there are sure to be upsets.
Teams that may upset if the favourites tinker too much are Brentford away to WBA, Sheffield Wed away to Fulham, Preston at home to BHA and Arsenal away to Leicester (joking with that one guys, Arsenal may well win it on their merits as they also have quality fringe players and who knows what side Leicester may put out), Bristol City at home to Villa and Bournemouth away to Manchester City :)))

First Mak, then Paxton. There is a common denominator and has been here all of about 6 weeks. I am not taking sides just stating a fact. There are certain protocols we all follow and most know where that line is and not to step over it, especially when interacting with opposition supporters. It is called respect and the majority exercise it while some need to take it on board. Thankfully Mak is back and hopefully it won’t be a long spell for Paxton. This is a great site and in the main everybody has little or no reason to step on toes. Long may it continue.

Of course it was a red. I was relieved when he showed yellow and VAR did its job and changed it. After Kepa’s stuff up I switched off seeing it was heading on for 3am here in the land of Oz. After that, enough was enough.

That would be:
Larry
Curly
Mo
WernerI still come up with Werner whichever way I look at it 442. Maybe I am being a little harsh on Tammy though but not the other two.

All or nothing. Not a great start Spurs 0 Everton 1. Everton the sort of side that would probably benefit from playing away matches with zero crowd pressure. You wonder what effect that has in influencing performance and subsequent results moving forwards in respect of both sides in a match. I would think that whilst it is the same for all sides through a home and away season, the benefit lies more with the underdog sides. Maybe I’m talking a load of gibberish but the Everton win suggests otherwise. Would Everton beat Spurs on their home ground with a full house of mainly Spurs support? I say most probably not.

This side should be able to account for B.H.A.
Caballero; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger, Chilwell; Havertz, Kante, Kovacic; Ziyech, Werner, Pulisic.

Rather watch a couple of editions of Coronation Street than some of the crap being dished up. Bring on the weekend matches.

Mourinho losing quality in Eriksen to Inter Milan and now they have decided he doesn’t fit the plans of Conte playing 3-5-2 and “want to cut their losses” and move him on. WTF maybe I am missing something but they got him on a free and now want to flog him off for 35 mil.

Pulisic and Werner may well be a lethal combination. Let’s hope that Chelsea and most likely also United close the gap a bit on the top two which will make for an exciting run in. Noted that two City players have been diagnosed with Covid-19. How does that impact on things. Do they and the rest of the squad have to self ilolate for 14 days? Will that cause a delay in City’s season starting and therefore also that of their proposwd opponents?

Posted on the other site on the transfer thread 999. Hopefully someone comes up with their strongest new look Chelsea team, formation and subs. I thought it would be interesting.

Approx 800 million buy out for a player approaching old age in footballing terms. It makes what LA Galaxy paid for Beckham look like chicken feed. They got value for their money and then some. I’d be disappointed if Abramovich went down the Messi path to be honest.

Didn’t like devil yet accepted the description of pest. That tells me all I need to know about his intentions. My cross referencing has substance too considering the speed of reaction. 999, I am more than comfortable posting here and here only for the time being in particular. You summed him up to perfection and, yes, nothing has changed and it is all done on purpose. Highly depressing human being that I can do without, especially these days with where we are all at.

I also note 999 that both Mighty Moos on here and our friend on the other site have called Thiago Silva ‘Uncle’ in their most recent posts both here and there. Is ‘uncle’ a known nickname going around that I am unaware of? Just an observation.

I note that the devil is back over the ditch on the other site. He has not changed one bit, still taking swipes at Willian notwithstanding the guy has left. Kovacic also on his radar again even though he was one of Chelsea’s best last season. Two of my favourites and hammered by him at any opportunity. Then the attack on Thiago Silva even before he has kicked a football for the club. Simply got no time for the lad and will not post there anymore.
