Decent strike from Kompany. That was the one time out of a hundred he would do that. And that’s the title for City.

Is it me or isn’t the crowd a bit quiet for such a big game?

City have so much quality not to make it count, IMO. And with a guy like Aguero you can be crap for an entire game and create only half a chance. And that could still be enough.

What a save from Schmeichel on Aguero’s header.
And so far City haven’t been that good, Even if they did establish a pressure the last 10 minutes of first half. Leicester have done well. I truly hope they can hold on the rest of the game. I find it unlikely though. We’ll see…And how extraordinairy crazy is the run in of this season??? Bat shit crazy. That’s how crazy. Good entertainment though.

I have No doubt City will win. United are in poor form and City are just a better team. Sadly.

What an embarrassment against Everton. Ever since OGS was announced as the permanent manager it’s all gone tits up. I must admit I was one of those who were blinded by his great start and history with the club and wanted him to get a shot at managing the club.
Now I think he’s a dead man walking. United really has become a poisoned chalice it seems.

Of course I would have loved it if United won the CL, but the way the team perform, it’s more than ok they crashed out.
I’m happy to see City out as well. I’d hate it if they or PSG had won it.On the other hand I think it’s fantastic to see Spurs and especially Ajax in the semis. Spurs have spend peanuts compared to the likes of City, PSG and United. And Ajax? An average age of 12 or something like that? Knocking out Real and Juventus. It would be a win for football itself if Ajax win the CL.
Liverpool and Barcelona are great clubs as well. Should be two cracking games. I think Liverpool can beat them over two legs, but there’s always Messi.

I’ll move away from the argument, and I wasn’t being sarcastic when I congratulated City on their win, even if I rooted for Schalke.
I’m not German, but I know German people having studied with quite a few, and I’ve travelled their country a lot as well. They are in general extremely aware of their past, and it’s just unfair to keep dragging it up. You can’t blame a kid for his father’s sins, right?
I have relatives who had to flee Finland during WW2 because of the Red Army, but I’m not going to trash talk all Russians.
Realizing I already broke my promise made in my first sentence of this post, I promise I’m done now! π
On the football I think City are through now. No way they’ll trip at home against Schalke. And with Juventus on the brink of going out as well I think this season is City’s best chance probably also looking forward of winning the CL. In the next few years they’ll have to offload a few of the ageing stars like Kompany, Otamendi, Aguero, Fernandinho and David Silva. And clubs like Real, Bayern and Barcelona are surely going to spend in the summer. But for know they are the side looking most complete and still at their peak. Now or never, so to speak?

Congratulafions to City on their win. They are basically through now.
On another note, how come it’s okay to state hatred for the Germans in general, calling Them krauts and nazis, but it’s not okay to point out that City’s owners are from a despotic, human rights violating country that floggs who are deemed to be offenders against the Faith of the ruling class (which the City owners are a part of)?
Why wans’t the “don’t mix politics and football card” waved?

When did Chelsea last lose by five goals? Must be literally ages ago. Bloody City.

What the hell are Chelsea doing??? Surely this will be the end of Sarri if the spanking continues.
I was hoping for a Chelsea win, but that seems perhaps a bit unrealistic now.
Crap.

Speaking of dwarfs…
Q: Why do dwarfs laugh when they play football?
A: The grass tickles them in the arse.

I’m pretty sure Guardiola bought Lewandowski. He turned out pretty good. Other than that it’s actually an interesting point about him not buying all that well in general. Buying well is definitly something that should apply to someone mentioned in GOAT conversations.
I know someone like PG with his profile would never go to Leicester, Porto or Aberdeen. Why would he? But he could go to an underachiever with cash and a great history. Someone like Arsenal or AC Milan. I bet they’d have him in a heartbeat too. If he went to a club like that, won the league and made some good European Cup runs that would be something.
As it is I think he’s the equivalent of a tall guy holding a dwarf at arms length, hand on head and kicking the dwarf in the balls. It looks convincing, but it really says very little of his actual strength._____________________________

999, agreed. And even at a disjointed Milan he averaged about a goal every two games.

Moos: Agreed. SAF and Mourinho had financial backing. But quite a lot of young players were brought through the youth ranks by SAF. He also won the Scottish league with Aberdeen and won a European trophy with them as well.
When Mourinho won the EL and CL with Porto and the CL with Inter he simply couldn’t buy as expensive as many other clubs. His financial advantage has been at Chelsea, Real and United.
Klopp deserves a mention too. He’s excellent at Liverpool. But to win back to back titles in Germany with a club that isn’t Bayern – and reaching a CL final as well – that is just extremely solid work. And on a tight budget compared to most too.Fact is Guardiola never did anything like that.
