Let’s just skip the whole next goal Thing. 0-2 is fine.

How the hell could the guy have done more to prevent his arm from causing a penalty? He clearly tried to keep it as much as possible out of the way. N. E. V. E. R. A. P. E. N. A. L. T. Y
Still I wouldn’t be surprised to see City pull back an win 3-2.
They are poor at the back at the moment, they are an ageing team, but they still have shedloads of quality._____________________________

Adlab, that has got nothing to do with this incident. Fred’s arm is attached to his body. Clearly he tried to keep it behind his back as he went down. Walker passed the ball poorly. Not a penalty.
This is by no means over though.

Absolutely not a penalty for City. It’s not against the rules to have your arm under your body. It even looked like He tried to get it out of the way. He can’t cut off his arm, can he?
Correct call not to award a penalty.
Come on United!

It’s quite amazing that Liverpool finished last season with 75 points. 25 less than City. So this season City have gone slightly backwards even if 98 points still is quite impressive. But Liverpool finished second on 97 points. They bettered their season with 22 points. To close such a big gap in just one season is simply mindblowing.
Surely Liverpool should go all in next season for the PL. If they can keep their core players – and why shouldn’t they do that? They play good football, have a great manager, are progressing on the league and now winning stuff – as well as adding a few new faces, they should perhaps be favourites to win next season’s PL.
City are ageing a bit. It’ll start to show at some point. They can’t replace all the ageing players at once. City may be champions, but Liverpool look better set for the future right now, I think.

After winning the CL I consider Klopp to be a better manager than Guardiola.
Guardiola is good, no doubt, but he managed Barcelona which at the time he got them were build on proven CL winners and their version of the Class of ’92 with Xavi, Iniesta, Messi etc. And Barcelona were not short on cash either. He won the Bundesliga with Bayern. You’re kinda expected to do that. He failed miserably in the CL though. With City you could say the same as you could of his time in Germany.Klopp won back to back titles in Germany with a club that isn’t Bayern. He took that club to the CL final as well. He took over a Liverpool side when it was midtable. He build this team and won the CL. He makes players better and he has build title winning squads in two leagues with less financial backing than his rivals.
Even as a fan of United I must admit that Klopp is one hell of a manager. IMO the best around.

999, what are you afraid of? You really don’t need to tell grown men not to speak their mind. Football is more that what happens on the pitch. That’s why Barcelona say “more than a club” and Liverpool say “YNWA”. Where money come from matter. How fans act matter. How players conduct themselves matter. To downplay it is plain stupid. I train my own son’s team. We try to teach the kids about winning and losing with respect. That’s important. It doesn’t help when City players who are idolized by kids sing a rotten song like that and grown men defend it or downplay it.

Stuff like that shouldn’t be ignored. It’s just disgraceful. So bad taste.

Mav, buying deadwood like Vidal is something United would do. Like buying Schweinsteiger. By the way, when will clubs learn that Bayern only sell players not good enough for themselves anymore? Barca have been great, but this is the second year in a row they throw away a three goal lead in the CL. They need almost the same rebuilding job as United.
What’s “annoying” about Liverpool is that they are winning in style with a few homegrown players and some really good buys – someone who THEY make worldclass like Salah, Firmino, Mane, VVD. It’s almost as if the United way is now the Liverpool way. Fuck me that’s depressing to let sink in! 😀
And again: Well done, LFC.

What a game Liverpool! Fully deserved. I even metioned last night that I believed they had a fighting chance if they scored within the first ten minutes. I should have put some money on it! 😀
Congratulations to Liverpool and their fans here. Well deserved.
Mav: Barcelona do indeed look fucked. They need a major overhaul. So many over the hill players. And the worrying bit for any Barcelona fans must be buys like Vidal. Why buy a midfielder on the wrong side of 30, when you already have older guys like Pique, Busquets, Messi (even if he’s great), Alba, Rakitic and Vermaelen? Not taking anything away from Liverpool, but it looks like the end of an era for Barcelona.
Who would you Liverpool guys prefer in the final? As a neutral I’d say Ajax would make the better game, as Spurs seem to be a tired team by now.

Sean, you’d think Liverpool would have to be very attacking pretty much from the start. Of course that might mean opening up too much and allowing space defensively. But I really think you have the players to overwhelm most teams. And even with Messi, Barcelona are not quite the force they once were.
Stranger things have happened even if the odds are against yo. Fingers crossed, mate.

The difference between Liverpool and Barcelona is Messi. Without him you’d even be the better team. If you score within the first ten minutes or so you’ve got a fighting chance IMO.
Best of luck.

As a United fan I’m very dissappointed that the club has spend so badly. We have no leaders in our team. And the club have no strategy or real aim. After SAF we’ve hired Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho and now OGS. Four managers with different profiles. And they all bought/ are going to buy their own players. It’s like insisting on putting together a jigsaw with pieces you know are not going to fit together. It’s simply bad planning, bad strategy and short term thinking.
I was one of those blind enough to get caught up in all that nostalgia about OGS, the link to the past and the United way. Now I think it’ll end in tears at the end of next season at the latest, and then it’ll be swings and roundabouts once again. When you plan that badly no amount of money will save you. That being said I’m not too impressed with City. Yes, they’ve bought well but their owners have more money than basically anyone, so it’s hardly a level playing field. You should expect City to win with that kind of financial backing. If anything it’s pretty poor that they’re not performing better in Europe. Perhaps Gullit was right when he said Pep can’t do it without Messi?
(https://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2019/04/19/5cb9ec1022601dbd338b4577.html)I think Liverpool (and Spurs for a long while) have done remarkably well pushing City to the limit considering they both are a league below when it comes to being able to spend money. With that in mind I would really like City to slip in the banana skin and lose out to Liverpool. If not for anything else then because it would be epic to see Nil’s reaction on here if it did happen 😉

Nil, it probably was. But there’s still one game to go, so there’s still a chance. Who knows?

You couldn’t make it up. City really created very little, Leicester did everything right. It took a goal from the distance from a defender who almost never shoots or scores to decide the game and probably the title.
Too bad for Liverpool. Even as a United fan I could have wished for a better fate for them. Next season it is then._____________________________
