Real need to spend this summer. Bale is an injury waiting to happen. Ronaldo, Ramos, Modric, Benzema and Marcelo are all 30 or older. They might have won the CL the last three seasons, but that won’t continue. They’re an aging team that needs new blood. Perhaps Zidane knew that and that’s the reason he left?
Real were never really a threat in the league and perhaps that old squad of theirs is more suited to cups rather than the league.
Slowly but surely they need rebuilding, and looking at the names above that might be a difficult task. But no doubt they’ll spend soon, and when they do they usually look to the PL._____________________________

Anything but Alvin and the Chipmunks. Their voices!!! They drive me mad! My five year old loves them. It really does test my patience.

I did see Dogville once. It was with Paul Bettany and Nicole Kidman. I think it was meant as a piece of art as it was made to look like it was on a stage.
It was the most mindnumbing boring piece of crap I ever did see. It made my love for fake buckets of blood even greater than ever.

Moos, I get to be serious at work. At home I like my movie entertainment to be the opposite. I hope that’s ok.

Yaya is a tool. It’s as simple as that. I’m far from a fan of Guardiola, but I really don’t think he’s got a problem with Africans. Didn’t he buy Keita at Barcelona? He was a first choice midfielder for several seasons. And he’s from Mali. I don’t think he had problems with Eto’o either. I think he bought Benatia from Morocco to Bayern as well.
And Yaya comparing himself to real legends like Iniesta and Buffon? How full of yourself can you be?

Mav, mate, I’m such a modern man that I can multitask. I often eat bacon and read at the same time. Sometimes while on the toilet too. I like to think of myself as a very gifted human being 😀

Worth a watch, mate. Especially if you liked the old Evil Dead films.
Also on Netflix, the Last Kingdom, the screen adaption of Bernard Cornwell’s excellent books. It’s quite good as well. Not as good as the actual books, but still well worth spending time on.

No I haven’t. To be honest I haven’t heard of it. But I’ll definitly look into it. Always good to have something lined up for when you eventually are done with what you’re currently watching.
I don’t remember if I recommended Ash vs Evil Dead on the old thread, but just to make sure I’ll do it again. Stupid, fun, buckets of fake blood and guts. Gotta love it!

I’ve begun to watch Peaky Blinders on Netflix. Seems decent so far.

Facing Belgium, Panama and Tunesia should almost guarantee England going through to the knockout stages. Panama and Tunesia ought to be six points without getting out of second gear. Belgium I’m just not sure about. Didn’t Martinez leave out Nainggolan and keep Fellaini? And bring four keepers? Strange selection.
I’d say the pressure is still on for England to perform with a draw like that.
Good luck to England in any case.

Most of us have interacted with Nil on different forums over the years. It has always been the same. He can be a good guy a lot of the time, but he can also go way too far with his million threads about all and nothing and his almost agressive style when he feels something related to Liverpool is under fire. Most of the time it’s in his head.
Posters have left because of him, which is a shame. Nil’s been handed so many chances over so much time, but he hasn’t changed. His obsessive approach to forums like this just isn’t healthy, and perhaps the best for him is not to be a part of these forums. Perhaps if he doesn’t return others will.

Does that mean that your real name is just nine? 🙂
I know it’s the facts. But United and The Oil Firm, especially the baby blues (that’s City), will spend big this summer. Arsenal will probably back their new big cheese financially. Liverpool will strengthen. So Spurs will need to spend as well. If they have a bigger ground, they might be able to spend bigger this summer because of future higher income.
But we’ll see.

But since Spurs get a new and bigger ground, they’ll also in the long run have a bigger income. How that affects their spending this summer is perhaps beyond any of us to say? I’d say it is.

Not compared to United and The Oil Firm. But historically Spurs probably never were closer to the real top than they are these last few years. And to stay there, they need to spend more than they have done. So what has been the case historically doesn’t count for that much, I think.
And surely Spurs are able to spend more than what they have done these past few years.

Wouldn’t it be a bit of risk to buy Modric and Bale? Modric is turning 80, and Bale hasn’t played anything like a full season since 2014-15 mainly due to injuries. So that’s him struggling with fitness the last three seasons.
Both would still cost a fortune, even Modric at his advanced age. Modric is also a playmaker, and so is Eriksen.
I know Eriksen plays in a more attacking role, but can you play both without limiting them at the same time?Wouldn’t Spurs be creating their own version of the Lampard-Gerrard problem?

@Brian Blue
I do enjoy the game. Not as much as I used to though. I agree politics shouldn’t be a part of any sport, but it is. going right back to the 1936 Olympics.
Personally it matters to me who clubowners are and who they are connected to. That being said I think City fans do deserve to experience some succes. They haven’t had much of that for years.
