Good effort from Chelsea on another day they could have got something from that game.
Indeed Nine. The old tale a game of two halves. That tackle from Stones saved a certain goal
for Clelsea.I thought your No 20 was outstanding.Driving forward from midfield. It
was almost Lampardesque from days gone by.Be interesting to see what two teams are selected for the FA Cup game on sunday?
Big win for City I think they may begin to reel Arsenal in now.
Hopefully we can go on a run now. Some really big games coming up over the next few months for us

Looking forward to see how Chelsea’s model runs under the new owners.Roman’s hire & fire policy worked a treat for Chelsea during his tenure by the amout of silverware Chelsea won.I’d like to think Potter will be given at least a minimum of 2-3 seasons to get his philosophy/ideas across?

5th January 2023 at 11:03 am in reply to: Weekend Part Two: Week 1: Or maybe 17: Don’t really know anymore… #202300Nine Ed et al.Has Lampard actually been sacked then ?
The papers are part of the problem for me nowadays.Speculation.Speculation.Clickbait etc ๐
Plus all the sheep who follow social media (espcially twitter) is actually worse imho.I’ve got talksport on right now and the presenters are talking about Nathan Jones getting the sack
after four losses.Loads of fans rang in last night saying he needs to be sacked. No doubt some of the same fans who wanted Hasenhuttl gone.Madness!! Be careful what you wish forKlopp’s the longest serving manager in the Premier league (7 years last oct 22) next I think Pep
(6 years last june 22) When you think about the amount of time that Fergie & Wenger spent at they’re respective clubs. How long would they last nowadays if they were just starting out?The problem with this sacking culture we have is the we have no up and coming managers in the system.Potter being the only one I can think of atm.Whenever any prem team pull the trigger it’s the same old names being touted Allardyce etc.
I can’t believe Alan Curbishley never got another prem job after the miracles he did.

came in with plenty of cash at the time.Appointed Shankley and the rest is historyIn 1975 (or poss 73) Liverpool and City had both won the same amount of trophies in their history

29th December 2022 at 7:27 pm in reply to: January Transfers 2023 (All I Want For Christmas is….) #201960Man City have basically brought in the dream team that helped create Barcelonaโs success. Ferran Soriano, Txiki Begiristain & Pep Guardiola. It wasnโt rocket science in that sense. The risk for City is when Pep does leave, will the others follow?
All of our teams down to under nines are coached the same way Mikus
PG’s legacy will be around a long while after he’s gone.I can see him
maybe in a DoF role after he’s tried international football?I hope Vinnie keeps up his good start to management at Burnley.I would
love to see him in the hot seat if he continues to progress._____________________________

29th December 2022 at 7:15 pm in reply to: January Transfers 2023 (All I Want For Christmas is….) #201958Some excellent points Ed ๐
My reply to these
PPT, whilst you could say Liverpool were lucky to get that for Coutinho which massively skews their net spend, you could say the Haaland transfer was equally lucky. But for his release clause, what would he have cost? ยฃ200mil?
I would hope that City wouldn’t go anywhere near that figure. We didn’t have a centre forward for two years earlier. So we could of gone for him then maybe? Our staff were probably tipped off about the clause for ยฃ50M possibly
Utd are going to continue to struggle because, while I think weโve got the coach right, I think weโre still massively lacking in the second point above (structure) hence why the fans are so eager now for the ownership of the club to change hands as weโve been criminally mismanaged for years. Fans pointing to net spend are completely missing the point. Weโre just throwing good money after bad. We wonโt compete until we get owners who genuinely care about the club.
The thing that amazes me about all this is Fergie has to take some of the blame for this. His greed over a race horse (Rock of Gibraltar) forced the then United owners to sell to the Glazers

29th December 2022 at 7:03 pm in reply to: January Transfers 2023 (All I Want For Christmas is….) #201957Can I be the Arsenal that points out MoneyCity have only got away with their flagrant breaking of the rules due to a combintation of clever lawyers and technicalitiesโฆ and it should also be mentioned it was only UEFA that have cleared them for European compition and they are still under โinvestigationโ from the FA (although when you have unlimited funds and a desire to piss all over the rules, Iโm sure that โinvetigationโ will be continually delayed as it currently is)โฆ
Money City basically cheated the rules as their owners were depserate for the good will (which unfortuantely only comes from the blue half of Manchester) and we all know it. Weโve all read the e-mails!
Banjo. You’ve obviosley didn’t read or understand the report when it came out
CAS declared that anything that happened prior to 2014 was time-barred but not anything after. So they could examine the sponsorship revenues that were paid after 2014 and found those were properly paid and weren’t disguised equity funding.
That clearly implies that had the other payments not been time-barred, they would also have been found to be properly paid.
Therefore anyone claiming MCFC got off “on a technicality” is completely wrong.
Also regarding the e-mails.They were thrown out as fakes.
If the Premier league had anything on City they would of charged us by know

29th December 2022 at 3:13 pm in reply to: January Transfers 2023 (All I Want For Christmas is….) #201943Sean.You didn’t answer my original questions
Iโm told our revenues are fairly
similar. So why canโt John Henry & co put it back into the team ?
Itโs probably going in their own pockets instead? Our owner doesn’t take a penny out.Yours do
Paul why are you going back just 5 years? Are you seriously comparing man cities spending to liverpools?
Sean the facts are Liverpool have spent more in the last five years net then City
have.So you HAVE been competing. It’s a myth to say you haven’t been.If you want to compair value for money. How much have Liverpool spent since the premier league
started to win a league title?Even though you were part of the sky top four coining it in with european money pretty much every year from 1992 till 2008 along with United Arsenal Chelsea
Our owners had to invest massively in 2008 before the above clubs tried to move the goalposts with
a new version of FFP.Plus the prices back then.In 2002 Rio Ferdinand cost United around ยฃ25-30M
How much would he of cost in 2019 easily ยฃ120M ? when united signed Harry Maguire for ยฃ85M big onesLiverpool were lucky that Barca sold Neymar for ยฃ200M.Hence getting nearly ยฃ150 for Coutinho. He wasn’t worth even a third of that imo
Sean how do you explain the fact that United have spent more money than anyone else in the last 10 years and are still in a mess ? (Getting better nowadays Ed)
It’s easy to answer really. We’ve got Pep.He’s a genius. To win two league titles without a recognised striker against a top top Liverpool side was immense.
I have no doubt when he leaves we’ll never see the amount of success again.Yes we’ve spent money. But anyone who’s ever been champions has (maybe except Leics in moderation)

Likewise Nike.I’d be happy if Amazon bought the whole lot.
I liked the interview with both managers on the pitch before the game ๐Sky has come to it’s end of life as far as I’m concerned. They’re reporters are
more concerned with stoking the flames before the game(espeically before our games
against livarpool)Also the after match interviews are pure clickbait.Trying to get the manager in trouble if
there’s been a contested decision during the gameSpecial mentions for Guy Mowbray,Peter Drury & Jon Champion who imho are at the top of their game. Also Ally Macoist & Nedum Onuha probably the better pundits.

Spot on buddie Benfica were smarter than anyone signing Fernandez for ยฃ12m in the Summer whilst anyone who wants him now will have to pay his buy out clause of ยฃ105m.
I don’t know if it’s common knowledge or not?
We could of bought him along with Alvarez last january for ยฃ40M
But to be fair I couldn’t see him starting over Rodri. Most underated
player for us imho._____________________________

If Klopp wasnโt supported he would walk
I think fans want to see us spend like city and utd which is not realistic.
First off Sean.I can only speak for my club.I’m told our revenues are fairly
similar. So why can’t John Henry & co put it back into the team ?
It’s probably going in their own pockets instead?Klopp spouts off in the press about not being able to compete with City (Newcastle & PSG)
When if you checkout the excellent Swissramble www it confirms not only has
he had your boys competing in the last five years. You’ve got a higher net spend
over the last five years. One of my mates who’s a big Liverpool fan tells me Klopp wanted more control over
transfers that’s why the DoF leaving? Only hearsay mind_____________________________

Good morning Sean et al
re : He is certainly not one our biggest problems at the minute .What do you consider these to be ?
My take from the outside looking in
Player burnout. Most of the players have played a
lot of games over the last 5 yearsIf you want to look at individuals
Keita – Not good enough for Liverpool anymore
Oxlade – Not good enough for Liverpool anymore
Milner- – Not good enough for Liverpool anymore
Fabinho. His form has dropped of a cliff this season especially
VVD bang average since he came back.Obviously it’ll take time
to recover after such a bad injuryYou have been unlucky with injuries granted.I agree with you that
Liverpool needs at least two world class midfielders asap to get
up there again.Just my thoughts chum
Merry Xmas & HNY to all

Sean. Can you add context to the KdB comment ? I agree if your compairing his club form to
his world cup performances. But you need to take into account the squad he’s inHow many of the ones below would you have in Liverpool’s first team (or even squad?
I’d only take Trossard and punt’s on Doku & Onana for our matchday squad
The Ed also touched on a big part of the problem earlier.Martinez being out of his depth
Edin Hazard has been shocking since he left Chelsea.I know he’s been injured a fair bit though
Same for Lukaku. He’s turned into shit since Chelsea bought himNine “How the hell did Chelsea get ยฃ85M for Hazard when he only had 12 months left
on his contract”?Belgium 2022 World Cup Squad
