Paul, why you feel the need to go over the top like this regards stones just because someone, canโ€™t remember who, once said years ago that he didnโ€™t think stones was that good, I donโ€™t know. Seems petty to me.

Lucky are you taking the piss ? I’ve wasted my own time replying several times when you jumped in on a question for Sean.Me and Sean used to have banter with each other on the old TT forum over plenty of stuff ๐Ÿ™‚

Last time I reply on this topic. You’ve worn me out

John Stones has been at a very important member of our squad for the last 5 or 6 years and still is.Not the automatic picks like Aguero David Silva Fenandinho Kompany were back in the day.My basis for this ? I’ve been a season ticket holder since 1984 so nearly forty years of following them home and away.I like to think I know a little more about my team than you do ๐Ÿ™‚

FYI Stones has been deployed in Midfield before this season. So it’s not new.
He’s also played at rightback several times as part of a three back line.

Ed any ideas why my reply to nearly 12 hours to hit the group? At least 4 msgs posted after mine were on there when I logged on earlier?

17 prem appearances this season and 12 each for the previous two seasons

        https://www.whoscored.com/Players/101374/History/John-Stones

Lucky.John Stones has made more appearances in four of the six seasons that
both him and Aymeric Laporte have been at the club

In the three years Ruben Dias has been at the club.RD has made more in all three

Nathan Ake leads by two to one.But if you take into account John Stones injury record
He certainly would overhaul Nathan Ake’s total or at least be similar JS 24 NA 35
JS has missed 13 games this season due to hamstring injury’s

So? Pep hadnโ€™t been that much of a fan either since stones been there he harldy played half the games before this season.

Nope.Pep was/is a massive fan Lucky. As when we bought him he was one of the few centrebacks who were comfortable on the ball and playing out from the back.As for the games he’s played since he arrived. Here’s the appearance stats of the CB’s in all comps

Stones LaPorte Dias Ake KDB For balance Zinchenko
          41 in 2015/16
          2016/17 41 49 0

          2017/18 29 13 52 14

          2018/19 39 51 32 29

          2019/20 24 20 48 25

          2020/21 35 27 50 13 40 32

          2021/22 27 44 40 27 44 28

          2022/23 24 16 33 35 39

I know Stone and Laporte have had quite a few injuries as well.So no doubt
would of got more playing time

If zinchenko stayed he would have likely remained as the full back that pushes in to midfield, stones would be benched and walker would play the defensive right side.

Maybe ? In his last season Pep played him mainly as a Midfielder as Cancelo played LB

Since Cancelo went out on loan.Ake has stepped up.Plus it’s allowed Grealish to shine further up the pitch

          I hope the formatting holds

I agree with all that Lucky. One thing I’d do is try and get people in from somewhere who’s got a good track record in that.Like Brighton the amount of gems the turn into rough diamonds is second to none?

He was no where near as bad as he his now imho. His problem was he wanted to start every game and that’s not Pep’s way.I thought that given he went to Chelsea he’d start every week ?

His intensity is way below what it was at City.Probably down to Potter ?

True Lucky. If they win all their games they will of deserved it.My team have finally found a rhythm
the last ten games.First half yesterday was as good as I’ve seen us play in the league for ages.If Haarland wasn’t grabbing all the media attention.Nathan Ake would be my player of the season. He’s been amazing. ( Was it you Sean who said they didn’t fancy NA? apols if not pal) I remember on TT you were quite adamant that John Stones was bobbins ๐Ÿ™‚

Did the football genius that is Todd Boehly predict another 3-0 win for Chelsea Lucky ?

Personally for me he’s up there with Ed Woodward as one of the most clueless people ever associated
with football. Both are very smart businessmen though.

Having watched the highlights, two clear penalties for Brighton, the foul on Mitoma and the pull on Dunk. Also, not sure the Brighton goal disallowed for handball, touched the playerโ€™s hand.

Certainly not clear and obvious. Disgraceful really that Atwell and his var team, who backed him to the hilt, are able to influence a game with a lot riding on it.

His incompetence has been plain to see all season. Capped it off by sending the Spurs caretaker-manager off, who was the only one who steered clear of the melee.

Absolutely disgraceful.No-one won’t convince me that VAR isn’t bent.Ref’s need to be microphoned up like cricket and rugby are.One decision yesterday perhaps? But to get four massively wrong.Shocking end of,

Haha Chuckles ๐Ÿ™‚ Trouble is nowadays there’s a we want instant success now.

Wouldn’t it be better if the up and coming managers ala De Zerbi, Kompany, Heckingbottom & Carricks of this world stay 3 or 4 years with there clubs before jumping into the unknown.

Palace bringing back Roy Hodgson smacks of desparation to me.

I’m suprised none of the big boys haven’t gone for the Brentford manager. He’s proven himself enough
in the top league in the world for me.

Getting back to Spuds. If Conte walks I’d be tempted to give it to Cristian Stellini till the end of the season. When Conte was in Italy recovering from his operation.Stellini was outstanding.Did they even lose a game?

Another option possibly the River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo? He’s highly thought of.I can only see him replacing Carlo Anceloti at Real Madrid atm

Innocent until proven guilty. Thing is City have already been found guilty, CAS overturned the punishment on a technicality. City were never proven innocent despite what Pep says.

                                      Not true threeps

                                      https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-cas-verdict-ffp-18678521

The award said the sponsorship agreements were โ€œfair valueโ€ and there was no evidence City had tried to cover up any alleged violations or that they had actually gone through with some of the arrangements discussed in emails

They concluded that โ€œUEFAโ€™s theory on disguised equity funding remains unsubstantiatedโ€ adding the โ€œtheoretical possibility that this may have happened can certainly not be excluded but that is not the standard to be applied.โ€

City were eventually found guilty of failing to cooperate with the investigation by the semi-independent Club Financial Control Body.

Cityโ€™s legal team had, CAS award, refused to cooperate because the evidence on which Uefa were proceeding was based entirely on hacked emails.

It said they โ€œdecided not to answer any questions on the authenticity of the criminally obtained documents or to produce any of the documents requested, suggesting that the request had not been made in good faith by the Chief Investigator.โ€

Uefa insisted they were relevant saying โ€œIndeed they are at the core of this case.โ€

The panel found City should have cooperated with the investigation, and fined the Blues 10million euros.

That’s the only thing City were found guilty of

                                            Wow.

That press conference from Pep has completely undermined all the scheming from the slapped arses and their Premier League puppets over the past four years.

The premier league and their cronies have set themselves up as bastions of justice and all things fairness.

It has never been about that. It’s about eliminating the threat of a real competitor. Manchester City FC have not only demonstrated a clear and present threat on the status quo of the division, they’ve irrevocably broken it up.

These charges (smear campaign) have been leveled at MCFC not to maintain fairness and integrity but to unsettle Pep, the players and the fans in the hope they all bugger off.

All it’s done is galvanise everyone associated with MCFC and bolstered Pep’s resolved. So much so that he’s told them outright “I’m not going anywhere”.

That’s not the response those mard arse club’s and the Premier League wanted to hear.
