999, had a discussion about VAR with some rugby and cricket fans, they both said the same thing, when VAR was introduced into those two sports it wasn’t done under the intense spotlight that football is trying to do it under, they had problems but there weren’t the histrionics we’re having with football…Pagan

Chuckles, at the moment it’s not uncommon for a VAR review to take between 4 to 5 minutes, that’s 5% of the game, if you have multiple instances in a game for penalties, goals etc. It’s going to be a long old game. How that will impact on the evening matches when fans rely on public transport, or have specific trains to catch to cut down on cost, it may drastically cut down on attendance by fans….Pagan

Mr. Balance,
If an opposition (away) fan runs on the pitch, who do you deduct the points from.
What’s to stop a fan from another club running onto a pitch to get the other club points deducted?
Is it fair to punish a whole club, for the actions of one idiot?

999, can’t believe you’ve posted a link to what a wanna be pundits opinion is, of what he thinks a player is thinking. Absolutely no facts, no evidence, just Teddy trying to justify his lack of loyalty to Spurs. Teddy Sherringham, a poor mans Robbie Savage, and that takes some doing….Pagan

Stunning miss there, that will get more replays than Gerrard’s slip if Liverpool lose out by by one on goal difference….Pagan

Mr. Balance, the problem you have, and it’s the same when any fan watches his/her own team is you don’t watch it with impartiality, therefore there’s always more decisions that go against you….Pagan

There is no conspiracy against any teams, however mistakes are made, every goal you see you can go back and at some point a player has made a mistake that in some respect has led to the goal. Players when presented with goal scoring opportunities don’t always score, they make the wrong decision. Without mistakes every match would end 0-0. So if we want goals in games we have understand that players,no matter how talented will make mistakes, why then are we up in arms when a ref makes a mistake?
Get yourselves on a Referee course, ref some matches and see how difficult it is. When I watch my two kids ref at, the end of the game I won’t say “you got that wrong” I always ask “when xxx happened, what did you see?” and the decision they gave is correct for the incident as they saw it.

Mr. Makaveli
“I thought Liverpool would be beyond this. It is the action of the small not the big.”
Or “I can’t believe a club of Liverpool’s status would lower themselves to do this”
From how I read it there was no slur on Liverpool, however I don’t believe that statement should hold water, as it shouldn’t be below any club to report cheating or insist on it being investigated, in fact it should be applauded……Pagan

Chuckles, Oz, Mav, I’ll always be a Chelsea fan at heart, but I got disillusioned by prem footy a few years ago now. A lot of that was the stupid money involved it became a profession rather than a passion you got well paid for, I also became more involved in grass roots footy and cricket so had less time. I decided if I was going to go to a pro match it would be lower league and as I have friends that follow Millwall home and away I’d watch them. Unfortunately in some respects they got promoted to the Championship but I did get to see a team win a play off final.
For me I love watching my kids play, win or lose more than pro footy, both of them now ref when they’re not playing so I sometimes get to see kids footy as a neutral which can be a fantastic watch. Also there’s a couple of local non league footy teams, which although it can be a good watch at £10+ a game I’d prefer to watch a park team.
I love footy, and I don’t think you can ever really lose that, I just find that watching the game in its purist form, where it’s all about the game rather than the players celebrity status is far more rewarding…..Pagan

Mr Balance, and an unbeaten team can get relegated on 38 points, that’s why they changed from 2 points for a win to 3….Pagan

Mr. Balance, have Liverpool played their strongest team available in every match in every competition this season? Or have they rested key players in some games to prioritise certain competitions?…..Pagan

Well, having seen the incident on MOTD, yes there was contact, and yes it was outside the box, however, if you were to go to ground with that amount of contact in real life, there would be chaos at bus stops, carnage on the tube and the January sales would be a blood bath.
But Football isn’t real life, and players going down with minimal contact is now the norm, is it right, no. Maybe there’s an operation where we could fit footballer with gyroscopes….Pagan_____________________________
