Adlab, I’ll answer for 999, this is a manager who has taken the best defensive midfielder in the world and in nine months has turned him into a bang average box to box player, he has a multitude of youth talent at his disposal but brings in a washed up centre forward, he has probably the most in demand 18 year old on the planet and thinks him sitting on his arse for 90 minutes is aiding his development and nurturing his loyalty.
In short you can’t quite see any reasoning in the team selection today
Still Colin’s post match interview should be somewhat entertaining…Pagan

Appalling decision or lack of it for the goal, however the reaction from Colin towards the 4th official was equally as bad…..Pagan

Well that was a pitiful first half of football by Chelsea, how many £0000s a week for players going through the motions…..Pagan

I know international football may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and I get Mr. Balance’s annoyance at the interruption to the domestic league, but it’s happened for decades and teams have still managed to win the league, in a similar vein the same could be said about the Champions League, but the pay back there is the vast cash the clubs get.
As far as national teams go, it’s a good barometer of the state of player development in individual countries, it is probably the closest professional football gets to the grass roots game in so far as you can’t buy players and to coin a phrase “you can only piss with the cock you’ve got”…..Pagan

Mr. Balance, UEFA/FIFA have to put the qualifiers in the domestic seasons, it’s the same for all the countries, maybe suggest to Klopp that he doesn’t buy any international players that way all your players would be fresh after the break giving you an advantage…Pagan

Over the last twenty odd years English football seems to have followed European fashions in the buying of players for the domestic league, which ever nation was doing well or were deemed to be developing the best youth products we bought their players, some years it was French, then Portuguese, Italian, Spanish etc. well now the Europeans are looking at our youth, hopefully we’ll follow that trend and retain our own youth in the teams that have developed them, we can only hope….Pagan

A large company, let’s say Samsung, pays a player to change his surname to Samsung, Samsung is then written on the back of the shirt and commentators have to refer to him as Samsung. Great advertising…..Pagan

It’s not unheard of in sport to name something for a sponsor, or to get round sponsorship rules, it’s already happened in motorsport….Pagan

Chuckles, Mr Balance, I don’t want VAR, but I do want to eradicate diving, exaggeration etc. The only way to do that is make the punishment fit the crime, so diving 5 match ban, however no matter what you say it is still opinion based when it comes to diving/exaggeration, as for offside VAR is flawed due to parallax error and the fact the line they use is along the ground and doesn’t work for knees and heads etc. In addition to that the resolution is poor when looking at an inch either way.
Cricket uses it best in my opinion, but the decisions are black and white in the main and are backed up with the snickometer and hotspot. The only really contentious decisions are whether catches are grounded, added to this is the fact that stigma surrounding cheating in cricket makes the punishments very severe….Pagan

The question is, would you rather have wrong decisions go for you sometimes and against you others or VAR?
For me I’d sooner not have VAR, but if we have to have it it needs to be competition specific so all matches are played on a level playing field….Pagan

Going over with minimal contact was definitely coached in this country in the late 70s, we had a lad at school who was in a division one teams academy, he was unstoppable on a rugby pitch, touch him on a footy pitch and over he went, diving was just the next step in the evolution of cheating…..Pagan

Mr. Balance, yep I see where your coming from now, the same could be said of diving/exaggeration etc. As well, until players are called out by their team mates and pundits we have a problem.
For me diving is blatant cheating, as is ball tampering in cricket, the punishments and stigma in the different sports is somewhat different though….Pagan

Mr. Balance, take social responsibility??? As an individual your responsible for your own actions, yes their can be things in your life that affect you, but the blame society card gets vastly overplayed…Pagan
