Mikus, academy players having loyalty and fighting for you like no other may have been true in the past, but may not be quite the same now. If he knows no other club, in that he hasn’t been out on loan then yes I would agree, but if he’s been out on loan a couple of times then maybe not so much as it then just becomes another team he’s playing for…Pagan

Ed, great post, a wonderful example of overvaluing your assets and undervaluing your targets.

Pogba, although talented comes with baggage, the other two vastly overrated, not good enough for Man U, so what top notch club would they be good enough for? the whole world knows you want rid so they’re going to expect to pay well under the odds.

Your targets are blue chip players and as such will command top prices and wages to prise them away from their current clubs.

Add to this Man U don’t have the pull they used to have, but they still do have the finance, so the financial package the players will demand will have to compensate for the possible lack of prestige. Not knocking you, but that’s the reality of the moment….

Mr. Balance, whilst I agree that you can’t just throw the best players in their respective positions together and expect to get the best team, you have to get the correct blend of personalities as well, and then the manage has to get them working for each other. A managers job is to make his team win, it takes a good manager to get all his players doing their job, but an even better manager to get all his players to do his job for him.

However I can’t agree with your music analogy, you’re not meant to like modern music, it’s part of getting older……Pagan

Well, let’s start with getting the names right, it’s Nottingham Forest, they get ever so touchy about being called Notts Forest.

I live roughly in the middle of the 3 larger cities in the East Midlands, and in my work I have staff in all 3, and there’s a central office with people from all 3, so there’s a hardcore of East Mids footy fans.

Ask a Derby fan who their main rival is, and they’ll say the Red Dogs, ask a Forest fan who their main rival is and they’ll say the Sheep Shaggers, Leicester will say Derby but that’s not reciprocated in any way. Notts, well most have a bit of a soft spot for them, me included.

Do I dislike any of them? No, Do I enjoy the banter between them? Yep.
