Just seen the game on MOTD, penalty incident, there was contact and then the player threw himself to the ground, unfortunately in this day and age in pro footy that’s a penalty, while you have players, managers, ex players, pundits saying there’s contact he has a right to go down, then it’s always going to be a penalty.
The tackle on Salah, the laws need changing, professional/cynical fouls should be a straight red, it shouldn’t matter where on the pitch they occur, whether there’s covering players or not. I sometimes think players are hard done to when they get sent off for getting a tackle wrong (not the studs up lunges), yet cynical tackles/blocks/shirt pulls only get a yellow….Pagan

Mak, my understanding, and it may it be correct, is that VAR can only check red cards, either after it’s been shown, or if the ref asks to see the incident prior to making a decision. If the ref issues a yellow straight away then it can’t be reviewed….Pagan

Mak, this “red card offence” I haven’t seen any footy today, did the ref show a yellow card? If so I don’t think VAR can be used…..Pagan

Sean, there are a few unwritten rules of footy, some are grass root rules some are prem rules.
The kid with the ball is captain.
The fat kid goes in goal.
The teams at the top always feel that they’re hard done to, and all the decisions go against them.

999, I think you’ve misunderstood my sentence, to many hims in it so I’ve put the names in
“The trick though would be Levy wanting Poch to go and but making Poch think Levy wants Poch to stay, and obviously Poch having a team to go to”
Think Levy would be glad to get away with a mutual agreement if he wanted shot of him….Pagan

999, I suppose that depends on if Levy wants him to go or not, if he wants him to go I’m sure he’d gladly save himself ÂŁ32m. The trick though would be him wanting him to go and but making Poch think he wants him to stay, and obviously Poch having a team to go to….Pagan

999, or he leaves by mutual consent, which could suit all three parties….Pagan

Chuckles, glad you’re in the IN camp, there’s obviously something amiss in the camp, personally I don’t think it’s the manager that’s the root of the problems and getting rid of him doesn’t necessarily solve the problem at source or long term and it also strengthens the player power that we now have at a lot of clubs. I hope the owners back the manager on this and Spurs can move onwards and upwards…..Pagan

As far as the site goes, the more posters we can get the better, however when in Rome and all that, Ed and 999 need to make sure that the standards that we have on here are maintained…..Pagan

I saw a bit of the Leicester game today, being a little pedantic Vardy seemed to have blue tape covering his wedding ring. Just seems odd that he was allowed to do that…Pagan

28th September 2019 at 9:09 pm in reply to: Isn't it time that we stopped supporting terrible companies? #48745Obviously some sports need different things, drag is more relevant to sprinting etc, at one time they were trying to develop a material that changed colour when stretched, the idea being based on shirt pulling….Pagan

28th September 2019 at 8:42 pm in reply to: Isn't it time that we stopped supporting terrible companies? #48743Mikus, I know someone who works in the development of the material used in sports shirts, the material used in the actual players shirts is different to the ones we buy, when they pitch new materials they include coefficient of friction through air…..Pagan
