For me 9, they make them play all their games away, not at neutral venues, but proper away games as it would be unfair to punish the players by banning the country from competition. It’s very difficult to vet the fans, so unfortunately the decent fans would have to miss out……….Pagan

MistraMoos, the laws of the game are not black and white, they are open to interpretation, and refs are instructed on the current interpretation of the laws. I have absolutely no problem with a penalty being given as it probably did stop the ball going in the net, I just think the sending off was a bit harsh considering the double jeopardy law for fouls and this may be up for debate prior to next season.

I think there’s a debate because of the ball to hand/hand to ball thinking, the deliberate hand ball argument, however accidental contact is not taken in to account when a player runs across the back of a player and contact brings them down, it’s still a foul deliberate or not. For me the only debate is round incorporating the double jeopardy rule to instances like this……..Pagan

Sean, I wouldn’t say he moved his arm towards the ball, I would say his arm moved towards the ball, it’s a subtle difference but it still resulted in possibly stopping a goal. It’s just another anomaly of the current interpretation of the laws, where not every eventuality has been considered. I’m sure there will be a rethink and the double jeopardy rule will apply to situations like this……….Pagan

To be honest I think it was the best thing that could happen given it’s timing, it allowed the players to vent their anger and then calm down and galvanise during half time and come out focused for the second. Be interesting to see how much the one point we got is going to cost us……Pagan

Lucky, they are creating their own culture, our generation was always controlled by the record companies and the music media. There’s a big difference between “the public gets what the public wants” and “the public wants what the public gets”

As for there’s no counter culture, that’s again our generation’s fault, we created too many of them and they became a much of a muchness, so much so that the youngsters don’t want to be pigeonholed, their counter culture is no tribalism………Pagan
