I think what we’re seeing at Man City is the downside of the modern short term manager, most of these impact managers come to a club, invest in the team, have success, and then it all goes tits up and they get sacked. Pep has done a brilliant job and as such will not be getting sacked anytime in my opinion. However he has outlasted his initial spending, and the players he bought, trusted in, and, probably now has a bond with are getting older, approaching the tailing off of their career and in some cases probably becoming a bit complacent and more difficult to motivate.

Clearing out those players that he has probably got a bit of an attachment to and have been loyal servants to him is something most modern managers never have to do. For me it will be interesting to see what he does, and what Klopp does a few years down the line, they both come across as decent likeable characters which will probably make the task difficult for them……Pagan

I’ve not seen the game today but I presume we had loads of possession, pushed forward and although had the ball in their half fail to really create much, and then got hit on the break. This seems to be a pattern of the season, we can’t break down organised deep seated teams, hence we need a very creative player to do something a bit different and special….Pagan

Amz, for me we need a player that is more creative and can do something unexpected, defence is all about positioning and discipline and as such is relatively easy to coach, creativity on the other hand is a totally different kettle of fish….Pagan

Interesting that Jose appealed the Son red card, apparently he blamed Rudiger for overreacting and feigning injury, this the same Jose who effectively sacked the team doctor for running onto the pitch to treat the at the time a seemingly mortally wounded Chelsea player…..Pagan

For me it will be interesting to see if Klopp can sustain success, he has put together a fantastic side, however in the years to come as the players age and maybe get a bit comfortable it will interesting as I say to see how ruthless he will be with the players that have served him so well, that was Ferguson’s strong point, no sentimentality….Pagan

Sean, personally I don’t think there’s too much discussion about Liverpool, I think it’s just the only ones that don’t think you’re nailed on to win it are the ones that should be. You’ve got a really good team going on there, so start enjoying positivity.

I’m off to watch Millwall on Saturday at Derby, I started going to watch them as I am a bit anti PL due to the money, so went with some friends, that was when they were in div 1. Now they could start pushing for a play off place, I’m hoping they’re not too successful….Pagan
