102 years ago we had the Spanish Flu, which killed between 20 to 50 million people, it’s believed it started in the USA late in 1917 and ran until the end of 1918 and was spread around Europe by American troops towards the end of WWI, oddly the least affected country was China, possibly because they’d suffered an outbreak of a milder strain of the same flu previously and so had built up immunity.

Thankfully we now have a better health care and medical knowledge, so although it may spread easily hopefully the mortality rate will be vastly less.

Not trying to be morbid, just putting into context how unimportant sports and entertainment are in comparison to the current situation…..Pagan

During the recent England cricket tour of South Africa Ben Stokes had a few choice words for a fan who passed comment when he was out, a couple of the pundits we’re talking about the incident a few days later and the basic thread of their conversation was, just because you’ve paid a few quid to get in, it doesn’t give you the right to abuse anyone, why can’t you just appreciate and feel privileged that you’re lucky enough to see some of the best players on the planet……Pagan

Chelsea at the moment are producing quality youth players, some of which hopefully will become long term first teasers, others will move on and again hopefully make a career in football. The credit apart from the youngsters themselves has to go to all involved in the youth and academy set ups, these people need to be valued and rewarded appropriately before they’re be tempted away by other clubs…..Pagan
