9, the premier league champions is probably the least contentious, they’re miles out in front, and the title was always going to be theirs. It’s every other important position in every other league that’s the problem. Promotions and relegations are all about money, and that includes the play off positions, the premier league can’t work in isolation, it has to be joined up…..Pagan

9, you missed 4) Void the season

One other thing to take into consideration is that teams rip up their pitches and relay them in between seasons, so something needs to be sorted.

To be honest I’m not fussed whatever happens as long as it’s consistent across all our leagues, you can’t declare a champion without having relegation.

As long as it’s consistent and they make a decision I think the vast majority will take it on the chin…..Pagan

Joking aside now, we all have our thoughts on what may or may not happen with the leagues, but currently this virus is just talk to us all, it’s just a story on the news, it happens to other people, but, IF it takes hold in a mass infection and the people around us we know and love get seriously ill we won’t care about the footy. I’ve heard that if the League is voided that no trophies will be handed out, and no promotions or relegations will happen, however due to the fact that Liverpool are so far ahead the Premier League are going to going to make a one off trophy to recognise the victory they should have had. 9, what about the play offs? They surely have to happen, so that’s 3 up. Then the Liverpool’s, Chelsea’s, Manchester Clubs will bang on about too many fixtures and still want a winter break.

If the league never happens the league cup can’t have happened either.

For me if the hand a title out without completing the season the it’s a bit like an actor getting an Honory Doctorate, yep he’s got it, but we know it’s not a proper one…..Pagan

9, that may be true for the shareholder meeting, but this is way beyond that as taking the league as a snapsshot or extrapolating doesn’t take into account a team going on a winning run, like Leicester did and getting out of trouble, and we all know what happened the next season…..Pagan

9, the rules are in place, you have to complete all your games, even if you have amassed enough points so it’s mathematically impossible to be caught that doesn’t take into consideration potential point deductions for rule breaking.

Yes it’s very unlikely that any team would have points deducted, but that’s why you have to complete the whole of the season. I also think any rule changes have to have the backing of all the clubs, so the bottom 3 will definitely be going for the league being void….Pagan
