The National Leagues have now been suspended indefinitely, the powers that be are now talking to stakeholders and taking specialist legal advice on how to conclude the season.

This could be a good barometer for the leagues above them…..Pagan

Not the biggest country fan, but it was the choice of my dad so got to hear quite a bit of it, Marty Robbins was probably one that stuck out, not only for his music but also for the fact he was a performer.

Chuckles, contracts run out either the end of May or end of June, will be a few lawsuits if a player gets injured and can’t play for his/her new club.

On another note, most grass roots footy has had the season voided, one exception locally has decided to finish the season as it currently stands, coincidentally the bloke that runs the league also supplies all the trophies…..Pagan

The only way to avoid law suits is to void the league. Paraphrasing the rules

A season consists of each team playing every other one both home and away, that’s the rules, and if that doesn’t happen then the league is not completed. All teams signed up to those rules and as such can’t really argue against them especially as there’s a caveat that says the league has the final say.

Maybe the top bods at FIFA & UEFA should be looking at the way they could help the fans that contribute to their massive salaries rather than talking about things the vast majority of fans have now put in the unimportant file. Italy and Spain are really suffering, a high density of population in small areas and the infection spreads remarkably fast, London and New York are becoming infection hotspots. The fatality rates are shocking and these are in what we consider developed countries. If this spreads to the shanty towns of Africa and similar areas of other countries it’s going to be devastating……Pagan

It’s ok for us grown ups, we can see the sense of the lock down and for some of us that have to still go to work there’s still at least a bit of normality and social interaction.

For me I don’t have any grass roots footy or cricket which I miss.

My eldest has been laid off from his engineering apprenticeship for 5 weeks, his workplace is shut but he gets 80% of his wages. He seems to be doing ok at the moment but it’s early days. His refereeing at the weekends has stopped as has his cricket practice and coaching that he does.

The youngest is going to find it hardest though, was in her GCSE year, 2 days notice and that’s school over, so all that social interaction has gone, on top of that her prom has gone (not going into the cost of the dress) She’s also quite talented sports wise, plays ladies footy both Saturday and Sunday, that’s gone as have the associated practices. She also had cricket practices for various clubs, they’ve gone, she represents at county level and has to go through selection every year which finished just before lock down, so all her hard work in getting selected again was probably in vain. So she’s gone from all that and doing revision to nothing.

We are fortunate in the fact we have a treadmill and cross trainer in the garage which they are now using, but it is really tough for the kids that have gone from a really full schedule to nothing, so I can understand why some of them are going down the park for a kick about. It’s not right and mine won’t be doing it, but we all have to realise it is a difficult time for them, and when you add in natural teenage rebellion you can see why so e are doing it……Pagan

I’m quite lucky as I get a company car, currently a diesel Passat estate, great car as I can get all the footy practice kit in it and also 4 cricket bags and passengers if needed.

What would I like as a car, well for everyday use I’d have an RS6 estate

Last car I had was a hybrid, absolutely hated it, admittedly it was very economical round towns, but god awful when you were out of town, the lag when you put your foot down was awful and when you did it was like slipping the clutch on a 2stroke to keep it in the powerband ….Pagan
