For myself it’s all a bit surreal, this time of year it’s usually trying to maintain interest in footy whilst really looking forward to the start of the cricket season. To be totally honest I have no interest in footy at the moment, and I’m just hoping at sometime in the summer we get to play a little bit of cricket.
Obviously there’s more pressing things happening in the world, and sport has had to take a back seat, let’s just hope the Footydebate family can come through this unscathed….Pagan

Adlab, frankly it’s embarrassing, hopefully clubs will have a good look at themselves and realise the absurdity of the amount they pay players. As for the players, well it shows the lack of respect they have for the lowers paid people in their clubs which work hard to enable them to play.
Wait till their grand kids ask them “what did you do in the coronavirus outbreak?” And they answer “counted my money”……Pagan

442, the wife hand makes everything barring the cobs and sausages, it’s a massive undertaking but she loves doing it.
As for the kids drinking, well we’ve never stopped them and they’ll have a drink, but they are fairly sensible about it.
The youngest, well she was asked to trial for a ladies football academy with one of the local professional teams this season, to be honest they’ve been trying to get her to play for the last few seasons. She turned up and they spent half an hour telling her how it was a 6 week trial process and they’d evaluate her against the other girls, Well she Trained and played for an hour and they asked her to sign, when they told her what was expected of her and she’d have effectively drop her cricket she turned them down…..Pagan

According to this UEFA are urging leagues not to abandon the season, apparently they may ban teams from leagues that do from entering the European competitions the next year.
I’m sure that if there’s no Italian, Spanish, French, German or English clubs in the competitions they’ll still be able to charge the broadcasters the fortune they currently do…..Pagan

9, to be honest, it’s not the fact that she’s the wife that keeps her loyal to the thirds, that’s just me trying to make myself feel better, it’s more the fact that both our kids play for them, I’m sure that when they make the step up to the seconds she’ll go with them……Pagan

I don’t think the problem is specifically Liverpool being made champions, it’s the fact if you do that then everybody else has to be given the finishing place they currently sit in in order to treat everyone the same, and that means relegation for the current bottom three….Pagan

442, I’m based on the Notts/Derbyshire border, the kids play for Sandiacre Town CC (est. 1877) who have been the most successful team in Derbyshire this century, two national cups, one at Lords the other at Bristol. My two have been there since Kwiks and are both playing for the seconds/thirds at the moment. The youngest also plays for County at her age group and an open age Women’s team.
Teas in the league are also very competitive, but as a club we tend to be at the top of that as well. The firsts and seconds keep trying to poach our tea lady but she’s staying loyal to the thirds, it helps that she’s the wife though.
As for tours, the youngest was meant to be off to Sri Lanka this winter, that’s probably not going to happen this year now, so hopefully they’ll try again next year…Pagan

442, cricket looks unlikely this summer, was particularly looking forward to it as I won’t be playing anymore as the club has plenty of juniors now wanting to play senior cricket, so days sat in the sun watching a game, usually with one or both of my kids in was something I was looking forward to.
So where’s your home club based?
