Cricket is starting to take over my life to be honest, the youngest is quite good at it, playing county age group and now practicing with the nation age group squad. They were meant to be going to the age group World Cup in Australia this year, but it seems that this will now be next year, still on the bright side it gives me a lot more time to get the cash together to send them…..Pagan

Nil, for two seasons we’ve had “Johnny Big Potatoes” Liverpool fans banging on about how good they are, not specifically on here but in general, some even suggesting because the only lost one game in 18-19 they were the better team. Unfortunately Liverpool are having a bit of a bad run at the moment and they’re getting a bit of pay back, it’s a bit reminiscent of when the Pool fans gave Jose some stick at Anfieild when he went there with Chelsea, then got a bit upset when he put his finger to his lips for the old shhh gesture. With the pandemic, people have had more time to sit and reflect, we know he’s lost his mother, is his father alive? He has the money and if he’s seriously reassessed his life and come to a decision to leave football then all you can do is wish him well. Sean, he’s also the type that will see out his contract, he’s a genuine all round good guy, but he won’t outstay his welcome and will always do what’s best for his current club.

Can’t se him going to Bayern, think that would rankle with his Dortmund adventure, likewise I don’t see him at another prem club…..Pagan

Sean, I don’t think Klopp’s been sacked, he’s walked after the seventh season

So he’s in season 6, by the end of this season the players will have had the same regime for nearly 6 seasons.

Not sure national management is the way to go for Klopp, he seems to enjoy footy everyday, Spain, Italy, France, there’s no shortage of places he can go.

I don’t think it’s an over reaction as I don’t think he’s the type of manager to get the sack, he is the type to know when it’s time to move on and leave an untarnished legacy, he is the Nanny McPhee of managers…..Pagan

Sean, he’s in season 6, he missed just over a quarter of a season. I’m not saying Klopp is a bad manager, but all managers nowadays have a shelf life, Klopp’s is quite long in comparison to most.

Most of your first 11 have been there a while, there’s no pressure on them, you may have bought players in to try and challenge them, but you do need to sometimes replace one, just to stop the players becoming comfortable.

The other consideration with Klopp is there’s two big Spanish clubs that need a rebuild, and he’s proved that he can do that, which most of the other “big names” haven’t….Pagan

Who should he get rid of, well that’s the easy one, one he can replace with a player of the same qualities, it’s all about keeping the squad on their toes. As I’ve said before all managers nowadays have a shelf life, you can only read the same motivational speech a certain number of times before the players get bored of it, so you have to either change the speaker of the listener…..Pagan

I would suggest Klopp’s 7 year cycle starts in year 1 where he starts to build, by year 6 it starts to wain at the end of year 7 he leaves. Ferguson was ruthless he got rid of top players at their peak to show you couldn’t rest on your laurels and complacency wasn’t an option, Klopp doesn’t have that degree of ruthlessness.

Football like all top sports is all about now, not history…..Pagan

Nil, a truly shocking run of form, you’ve not won at home for 2 months, for me it’s a psychological issue, possibly part of the Klopp 7 year life cycle. Klopp is too nice for long term success, Ferguson would have moved some of the squad on and brought in new faces to keep it fresh, he was ruthless.
