So ESL is currently on hold, but that wasn’t the big picture or a plan to save football, that was the starting point of the current bigger clubs taking over football for their own ends. The ESL was there to form a closed shop in Europe whilst still dominating the domestic leagues. So that will happen, then what? well I would suggest that once they have their own league they will add to it, so we Have ESL1 and ESL2 which effectively then knocks out the Europa League. The next step is the ESL Leagues become the Saturday games and we then get a World Super League.

It may seem far fetched, but it’s all about money, and a global league brings global money.
The European game was scoffed at by England when it started, and it was English teams that pulled out of the ESL, but like the European Cup, English teams will go into a form of European football that is controlled by the teams not by UEFA, once that happens, the global game will follow…..Pagan

9, but when the prem goes back to the 4 games or so a week on the TV, that gives free days that can be used to screen ESL matches. Footy 7 days a week…..Pagan

Bottom line, UEFA weren’t upset by the ESL proposal because of the effect on integrity of the game, or that the fans weren’t happy, they were upset because the clubs were taking their piece of the financial pie. Do you really think they care what the fans of Burton Albion or Mansfield Town think?…..Pagan

9, yeah, but it’s not really saving football, which is how they tried to sell it. For me we’ve already reached saturation point with live footy on the box, I don’t watch so much now as it’s just boring, and if it is on it’s in the background.

All great ideas, but they all are based on the idea of devaluing the domestic cups as there will be too many games to play, the result being all but the top 4-6 clubs lose money keeping them in their place, disgusting abuse of power…..Pagan

Let’s be totally honest, it doesn’t matter how much money the clubs get from all their various income streams, the vast majority of it goes out on players wages and agent fees. Very little of it stays in the game, so even if they manage to set up a Super League, once the players and agents have caught up with the new money then the clubs wil have to have to set up now that’s what I call a super league 2……Pagan
