9, I think all dives need to be looked at, a dive on the edge of the area that leads to a goal from the free kick goes unpunished, that can’t be righ. For me a dives a dive, if found to be guilty 3 match ban minimum, it has to be a more severe punishment than a genuine mistimed challenge.

Maybe a team penalty (point deduction) if a team gets a certain amount of offences, that way the emphasis is on the clubs to stamp it out not the authorities to try and catch it…Pagan

We have that already with the two extra assistants in European footy, I don’t see that as too much of an obstacle providing individual competitions are governed by the same rules, everything switched of for cup games….Pagan

9, I was referring to the successful bit, if the ref books a player (and I think it should be a straight red) then that also should be reviewed, not really on that there’s a different punishment for the same offence….Paganand

Personally NB, I think the VR reviewer shouldn’t be able to overrule, but may suggest that the on field ref may want to have a look at the video of an incident, otherwise your just one step away from the game being reffed in a room full of monitors and a tanoy system.

Obviously the on field ref should also be able to ask to see video if he wants as well.

The only downside to this is the cost and manpower it requires as it would need to be done at all pro levels. Alternatively it’s not used for cup competitions to make a level playing field….Pagan

Successful deception of a match official, so if it’s unsuccessful it doesn’t get reviewed, that’s the problem straight away, all attempts at it need dealing with in the same way…Pagan

whether a goal should stand, to see if there are any infringements leading up to it

Mistaken identity for cards both yellow and red

Red cards, this is only for straight reds, not second yellow offences

I also think it can only be used if it’s something really clear cut and obvious, not something that is debatable

9, only in certain games though, which will be harsh on a team that goes out to cheating at a ground that doesn’t have the facilities, and somewhere else the VR saves a team.

I believe it’s also being used in the carabao cup semis, but not at Bristol’s ground..Pagan

You can’t condone fouling opponents, but you have to accept robust challenges, some of which will be mistimed, the tricky players also make sure they get fouled, and are then prone to rolling round on the floor as if shot.

As Chuckles says, adrenaline also plays a big factor, as the de Bruyne shows, you miss a penalty, the last thing you want is to concede from the break.

Tactical fouls is another hot topic, taking one for the team as they say, for me any cynical foul should be dealt with more severely….Pagan
