The main problem as you say is platform sharing or not as the case may be. It just encourages people to stream the footy from the web. No matter how hard the providers try you can always find a stream somewhere, the only way they can stop the end users doing this is taking their service away, which of course they can’t do as that’s their revenue stream.
It could lead to less TV money, which would be catastrophic for the PL.
Incidentally I had a good chat with Virgin, they up graded me to 3 V6 boxes and 1 TiVo in the house, and they also cut the monthly bill by almost £25, which was nice

NB, why are there so many overseas players in the prem, well there’s two reasons
1. We don’t produced the quality of player in this country as we don’t develop the technical side of the players preferring to concentrate on blood thunder, and playing offside. I could write about this all day.
2. To compensate for our inability to produce our own players we pay astronomical wages to overseas players which overrides their preference of playing in a nicer environment both in weather and culture
Yes I did watch wish you were here, and the places they went to looked fantastic, somewhat better than the set locations on The Liver Birds…..Pagan

NB, Spain is a foreign country to us English, food, customs, weather, language all are alien to a certain degree.
To the those from the South America’s it’s a spiritual home.
Footballing wise the history of the Spanish sides is vast, Liverpool bang on about having won the EC five times, Madrid won it five times on the bounce.

c.m, I don’t know, but as a club Chelsea need to start going in a direction, if we now start doing that and attracting managers that have a shared philosophy then there will be the trust. I personally would not be keen giving a manager £200-300m if I’d been bitten as many times as Chelsea have. In short it’s a trust issue.
Keep bringing in successful managers is all well and good if you happy with a boom and bust philosophy, but I think Man City are showing how to invest in a long term strategy…Pagan

c.m, I think you’ve missed my point, Man City have employed managers who have a similar footballing ethos, and they have bought the players they want, but the direction of the football has always been going in broadly the same way.
Chelsea on the other hand have employed managers who have pulled the club in different directions, and as such they have learned from that and are now trying to buy players to go in the direction they want the footballing identity of the club to go in.
They also now need to follow that through with the managers they employ…Pagan

9, as in all contracts you have to take into account the golden rule, he who has the gold makes the rules.
Conte has taken an improved contract, but not extended it, which was his chance to show a bit of commitment.

Why would you let a manager have total control of transfers, their shelf life is very short and the club then flip flops from ne style to the next. Man City seem to have bought players to take the club in the direction they want and the managers also seem to be of a certain style cut, hence the squad they have now, suits the style they want.
Conte cannot moan about the club dictating to him the players they want when he won’t himself commit to the club, he signs a new 5 year contract, he may get more say…Pagan

9, nothing new there though is there, he likes to say he’s staying, sign a new deal, engineer his own downfall and take a bit of a payout. Maybe a bit cynical of me, but it does seem to be his modus operandi….Pagan

Just watching the Fleetwood game, had a close up of the ball for the second half kick off, the ball had FTFC written on it with a felt tip, can’t see Leicester trying to nick the ball after the game….Pagan

Barkley is a great deal for Chelsea, £15m is nothing today (more on that later) a couple of seasons at Chelsea with a chance to either impress or just be on the periphery. If he impresses it’s a great deal, if not there’s no way we’ll lose money.
Spend most of my spare time round grass root sports, you see teams struggling to buy kits, as they try to keep the cost to parents as low as possible, teams in a mismatch of kits, poor facilities etc. then you see transfer fees and player salaries at what they are and you think where’s the connection between the two ends of the spectrum.
I’d love to see a % levy on transfer fees going to grass roots facilities, none to be spent on the FA admin, they waste enough, they have to show where the money goes and make sure it makes a difference…Pagan
