9, that’s down to the catchment regulations, players have to live within an hours travelling time, so the teams you play have to be a minimum of two hours away to stop them poaching your players.

Try cricket, every match is in a different county, that involves a bit of travelling, and the games are longer.

The whole of football knows how poorly the kids are treated, but no one will do anything about it as the rewards for both the clubs and the 0.012% that make can be phenomenal.

I suppose the trick is to work out which is the kid that might make it and if it’s not you or yours are you happy to be fodder….Pagan

Mav, trouble is the mediocre overseas players are better than we have produced ourselves.

The whole grass roots system needs overhauling, starting with the youngest ages (soccer schools) where the parents are educated as well. You spend all your time telling kids to control the ball look up and pass to a team mate, only to hear parents shouting “not there, just boot it” during games.

This is something that has to be actioned bottom up with the help of pro teams and the FA…..Pagan

Personally I think he would be a better fit at Chelsea, but I think Liverpool are trying to raise their profile by showing they can buy big, however if you’re going to spend big you do have to deliver….Pagan

NB, neither Jose or Pep have stayed anywhere long, but that obviously suits their managerial style. A lot is said about Jose instilling a siege mentality, well if you’ve ever read any accounts of a seize, there’s not many people that have been in one that want to be in another, as for Pep he’s another high intensity manager who probably is a perfectionist who burns out players with his style.

This style of management does get spectacular short term results, but doesn’t seem to be sustainable. Klopp seems to stay places longer, and has had some success, but not on the scale of Jose or Pep, so you pay your money and make your choice…Pagan

NB, over the same time period of Jose being a manager, how does Klopp fair up in comparison? I’m not a Jose fan, thought he was fantastic when he first came to Chelsea, very Cloughie like, great sense of humour etc. but that has been replaced with what we have now, which is a loss to football as as a coach he is obviously fantastically talented….Pagan
