Alfie, all clubs work on total cost, not just initial cost, quite often the media refer to the cost over the contract, they don’t usually then break it down to weekly cost though.

Alfie, Chuckles worked out the ÂŁ577k not as wages but as cost per week taking into account transfer fee, signing on fee, agents fee, wages over the length of his contract, so not wages there.
But you seem really happy with him going to Man U, just hope Lukaku is as delighted….Pagan

Alfie, maybe Man C didn’t bid because of his excessive demands, I can’t see the transfer fee being a problem, I would suggest he tried to call their bluff and lost. The real question for me is does Jose want Sanchez for his footballing talent, or just to get one over on a Pep?
Maybe it’s a bit of both, but for the reported cost of the overall package, there’s better value for money out there…Pagan

Big Jim, back to the conversation of being able to afford Sanchez/Hazard, think your game today shows the financial plight your club currently faces, no proper black armbands, and only enough insulating tape for a few of your players, times are certainly hard at the moment on the blue side of Manchester….Pagan

20th January 2018 at 3:40 pm in reply to: Latest Title Odds – Is it still a foregone conclusion? #13135You’re right there NB, I go to games when I can, any game really, but it’s usually at short notice when grass roots footy is off. Would like to have gone to Leeds today with the Millwall lads I know, but it’s sold out.
To be honest I prefer the atmosphere at T20 where all the fans sit together having a beer, great nights out, if you get a chance to go, go, you’ll enjoy it…Pagan

20th January 2018 at 1:33 pm in reply to: Latest Title Odds – Is it still a foregone conclusion? #13124NB, you confuse me, one post you want individual forums for teams where only supporters of that team can post as you feel you get stick off fans of other teams, then you’re up for in unsegregated seating, they seem quite opposing views….Pagan

20th January 2018 at 12:03 pm in reply to: Latest Title Odds – Is it still a foregone conclusion? #13121Brian, Cricket and rugby don’t have a problem, the atmosphere at T20 matches is fantastic, fans of both sides sitting side by side, having a few beers, exchanging banter.
Unfortunately we won’t get that in football because the tribalism is accepted and encouraged….Pagan

20th January 2018 at 11:31 am in reply to: Sanchez: layed all eggs in one Basket – Fundamental problem in English Football #13116NB, unfortunately we’re stuck where we are, unless the whole of football dictates a maximum wage for young players related to their age. Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, the Manchester Clubs will overpay for potential fearing they may miss out to a rival.
Being a success is now secondary to wealth and celebrity status, players walk off the pitch having lost, laughing and joking, quick shower, jump into their exotic supercar, drive home to there multimillion pound mansion and trophy wife…Pagan
