Well it was the West Ham fan in the offices birthday yesterday, so we made him a card with a football theme and put a picture of Dele Alli on it, we thought it would be interesting to see his reaction when he came in, but every time we put it on his desk it fell over…Pagan

Next you’ll be telling me that it a myth that kit manufacturers don’t influence who teams buy, and as such are willing to include a higher percentage of shirt sales with that name on. And it’s s myth that they will contribute to the transfer and increase the amount they sponsor the club by.

15% of the best part of 2 million shirts a season is still a awful lot of money…Pagan

How much a season do Adidas pay Manchester United a season to wear their kit, somewhere between £50 and £60 million, or doesn’t that count, they wouldn’t spend that amount if they couldn’t recoup it in shirt sales.

The amount of shirts you sell is directly linked to the amount a kit manufacturer will pay you to wear it.

Dennis Law is half myth, but had he stayed at the red half of Manchester they may not have gone down,l.

Still not up to old Meaty’s standard…. Pagan

Shirt sales play a major part in transfer fees, the bigger the club the more shirts they sell, the greater the 85-90% the manufacturer gets is worth, that’s why the top teams get £40-60m a season from Nike/Adidas and Scunthorpe don’t.

As for Dennis Law,he did actually play more than the one game for Man City, their gains for the last couple of months of the season was Man United’s loss, the effect was cumulative.

As for India, the expense side is incorrect as the organisers wanted India there as the sole Asian representatives, and were willing to pay most of their expenses, however they deemed the Olympics more important as you say and concentrated on that.

So in summary, not quite up to Meat Loaf’s standards as he got two out of three, and that ain’t bad….Pagan

9, the majority of the rules in F1 are not safety related, they’re car specification, often referred to as the blue book. Safety does come into this, but this thread is about gaining advantages by interpreting the rules to your advantage, F1 teams push the specs to the limits and very often the rules are clarified and altered when loopholes are found (think ground effect and ride height, variable down force etc) however the teams tend not to compromise on the safety side, but ask a driver if he’d swap a little bit of safety for a performance advantage and the vast majority of them would….Pagan

Taking a medicine/drug under the guise of needing it when you don’t that may increase your performance is not against the rules if you get permission to do so, however it’s not ethical to do so, and in some eyes the actual request to take the medicine if it’s not required is actually lying and as such could be classed as cheating. It’s a murky area and as such it is open to abuse within the rules…Pagan

The great North/South debate, well let’s put it perspective, in 1888, the first football league was formed, this consisted of teams from the North and Midlands. At the same time the Southerners were developing serial killers, and although serial killing still has a limited following, football had become very popular….. Pagan

Adlab, the rules state no political or religious statements, so the Star of David was used to highlight religious symbols. Mentioning it in the same breath as a Nazi symbol was not the best thing to do. Had he paused and said the same applies to religious symbols such as the Star of David and crucifixes etc then I think that would have been ok.

As I’ve said before, religion and politics shouldn’t mix with sport, the afore mentioned can be decisive where as sport should be unifying….Pagan

9, I don’t think Conte stumbled into the 3 at the back system, I personally think he always wanted it, so played that way in training, and then played the matches with 4 at the back. Our defending last season went down hill as the season progressed as the players became less comfortable with the old system and more with the new. I think we would have gone to 3 after the Arsenal game, but circumstances meant we had nothing to lose changing at half time and the rest is history…..Pagan

The fuss the FA have made has raised the profile of the Catalonian cause far more than the wearing of the ribbon had done up until that point.

As for politics in sport, it’s a big no for me, as is religion in sport, sports about coming together to compete, not highlighting divisions….Pagan

Drogba was 26 when he played in the UEFA final, Lukaku will be 25 when any finals come around this season, which conceivably Man U could feature in, so if he gets to a final either this year or next he’s on par, and if he wins he’s ahead. As I’ve said judge him at the end of his career. Out of interest how many senior goals had Drogba scored at the same stage of his career as Lukaku?…..Pagan
