Why would anyone bemoan 3 points instead of 2, that’s the same for everyone. It’s the swooning over city & Pep that I don’t get. Yes Pep is a very good manager but it’s a hell of a lot easier managing 1.2 billion dollars in talent than it is to be managing a squad built on a budget. It’s like me driving a ferrari around the block a couple of times then my brother driving a datsun around & everyone saying I’m a heaps better driver than my brother (which I am) cause I got around faster. If it were LFC that got the rich owners I’d love the titles it brings but I wouldn’t expect others to get on their knees & hail the great Liverpool side. I think Klopp is a great manager as well but reality is if LFC didn’t offer big bucks top players would go elsewhere. I think it would be a great achievement winning the C/L as your up against other rich clubs in real etc that have spent far more money than LFC have. Same if spurs win it, unbelievable considering their squad depth. Everyone expects city to win pretty much most of their games so no big deal but 9 swooning over them is what amuses me.
Anyhow, I think the best ban on any side breaching FFP is a maximum spend of 50 mil for 5 seasons, then you’ll see teams sticking to the rules.

Haha all good 9, because it was within the rules we just forget how Chelsea & city built such big squads & why no one can go better than city over a season in the EPL. Let’s just pretend Santa clause answered a little kids prayers & all the top players magically appeared in their squad, then the evil boogey man (FFP) stopped them from getting too far ahead of the rest. Pep don’t need money, he’ll Leeds spent more than them due to that evil boogey man but Oep is that great he still won the EPL. Good overcame evil despite the massive mountain they had to climb (the boogey man) & will dominate for the foreseeable future. We should bow down & say how great Pep & city are.
Ahh I feel a lot better now, I’m a converted city fan, they are all that & a bag of chips. Thanks 9 me ol mate.

9 objective & sensible, your making out city are achieving unbelievable things after only spending under 7 mil. You conveniently don’t mention the 1.2 billion they’ve spent before that. So we now should bow down admire them because they’ve not spent a fortune for a change. As chuckster says they’ve simply stockpiled top quality players & everyone else is playing catch up whilst they make a couple of top quality buys here & there. What a surprise, they’re winning titles as a result.
I’ve never questioned yours or any city fans loyalty & going through hard times not winning anything but I just don’t see them as doing amazing things like you do, for me they simply outspent everyone else over numerous seasons & effectively bought titles. Yes it’s been happening for decades but they’ve taken it to another level.
If found guilty of breaching FFP how about a maximum spend of 50 mil for 5 seasons, that’ll encourage clubs not to break the rules because your wealth won’t matter.

9 are u a c$ty fan deep down. You hope they get recognition they deserve for winning a treble and now trying to make out they’re struggling due to FFP as they have only spent just under 7 mil haha. Yeah we should just forget the BILLION plus dollars they spent previously, the poor buggers must be really hurting & it’s not fair they or chelsea can’t just outspend everyone anymore. It’s taken a while but now other reasonably financial clubs are slowly making up ground, Liverpool have admittedly spent a fortune but are still playing catch up.
Rest easy though mate, I’m sure they’ll buy another couple of worldies and will struggle to another couple of titles haha.

Sadly HH that’s probably to be expected mate, bloody BS mate. I’d love just to be in Liverpool to watch it. As ak says that Barca game was incredible & your one lucky SOAB to have been there.
As for the game, surprise I’m not oozing confidence. I think we’ve struggled v spurs & I don’t like playing them. I do think if we went heavy metal they wouldn’t be able to go with us but I think we’ll play it cagey & it’ll be a tight affair. Hopefully Mo, Firmino & Mane have their shooting boots on & we can break this bloody finals hoodoo.

Going through courts with player apparently voiding his contract due to breaching a declaration or something similar in Oz now Nil, in a nutshell a devout Christian Rugby Union player voiced his religious opinion on social media about homosexuality & got a warning about it from rugby authorities & apparently got a clause put in his contract not to post similar things on social media again. Fast forward a year or so & he once again posted something similar & rugby has sacked him. He’s appealed claiming he only posted what the bible says but by the look of it he’s gone. Due to it being a very high profile player it’s being played out in the media so if interested in such clauses it’ll be interesting to see where this ends up. Israel Falou is the players name.

Jeezus the way comebacks are going this season maybe it won’t be so bad to go down & couple early v Spurs, although I’d rather be up by 3 or 4 at some stage. Disappointed for Leeds, on top at different stages throughout the season & looking really strong but ultimately like N said they chucked a Liverpool & fell at the last hurdle, or 2nd last hurdle anyway.

Limiting spending sounds like a good idea in theory, would certainly level the playing field but I doubt it’ll ever happen, there’s way too much money involved & you can see the restrictions in trade argument from different countries coming up.

Apologies mate, thought you were taking the P, certainly don’t put you int the category of some on TT. I do believe Liverpool have closed the gap but city only have to buy a couple of players & they’ll stay ahead regardless of what we do.
The best thing both us & city have going for us is stability in all areas, in particular manager. Whilst we can’t match them financially we are a well run business & indeed are heading in the right direction under Klopp. Unfortunately we are the best we’ve been for the best part of 2 decades in the same era as the most expensive squad in history. Ah well still got the C/L to look forward to.

Looking forward to it Nil. The only time I didn’t like Leeds was that game years ago where Viduka ( and his Aussie partner in crime Kewell) got the better of us in a thriller, 4-3 I think it ended up & from memory Viduka got a hat trick. Cracking game to watch that was, except the final result.

Cmon 9 don’t just pick 1 part of my post out to suit you, conveniently leaving out where I said for whatever reason Chelsea have dropped off the pace. This is the sort of shit that annoyed me on TT, smart a’s on there picking little pieces out to suit their argument but leaving out stuff that didn’t suit them. I’d hate to see this site go down that path.
As for banning city, dunno if that’s warranted, maybe a transfer ban, but that’d just see them loaded with extra money when the ban ends. Tough call to make, the only thing we can hope for is consistency but I wouldn’t swing by the plums waiting for that from those in charge.

Yeah Nil we have developed some good players into top players, Mo being the perfect example. To be honest I didn’t think Sterling would become the player he has either so credit where it’s due, Pep has done a great job with him. I hope your right on winning trophy’s mate, hopefully it’ll start with the C/L this month. I must admit I’m not overly confident (surprise surprise haha), I thought spurs bettered us at Anfield & they’ll be a hell of an opponent again. I’d love to see us go full on heavy metal against them, it’s the last game of the season & IMO it’s the best way to play them as I don’t think they could go with us if we played that way. I do think if we play it cagey they can match us & give us problems with Kane & co so I say lets go at them & bring the trophy back to Liverpool.
