Yeah 9 I think your right mate, that early pen destroyed the game as a spectacle, as you say we are now confident enough in our D to hit on the break, knowing if we do concede we can up the gears & attack when required.
As Mikus said though that’s a credit in a way to Klopp, we were once all out attack (which was great to watch I might add) but we are a hell of a lot more balanced now. I suppose we done what we had to to get the trophy & whilst it wasn’t pretty it was bloody effective & at the end of the day it’s all about the trophy’s you win, not necessarily how you play (as much as I’d love to see us going at everyone like we did last season). I still think we have that attack in us but only where required ie v Barca.
Anyhow here’s to Smiffy & Warner leading the way in bringing the world cup of cricket back to Oz. Who knows with a bit of sandpaper anythings possible :>))

Soft as f*** penalty, yeah maybe by the rules a pen but I always look at a penalty & think how I’d feel if the same thing happened against us & being brutally honest I’d be filthy such a soft penalty got given, especially in a massive final.
That said we’ve been on the wrong side of the coin ourselves & it went our way this time. TBH they didn’t really create great chances either & it was a pretty dull game, I certainly hoped it’d be an entertaining attacking game but knew it’d be cagey.
Love we broke the finals hoodoo in the biggest club competition around & another major trophy on the shelves at Anfield. Cheers lads, enjoy the summer.

I honestly think it’s fair to say Liverpool are slight favourites but Chuckster you know full well your lot are in with a big chance. I’m not falling for this Liverpool have their name on the trophy rubbish your coming out with.
I predicted c$ty would win the EPL all season long as they had the biggest squad & I honestly believe Liverpool have more quality than spurs BUT in a 1 off game it only takes a bit of brilliance or a mistake & it’s all over. Maybe 55/45 for me but it certainly wouldn’t surprise me to see spurs take the cookies.
Hopefully the better team wins in regulation time as I hate penalties & the ref plays a minor part.
I do believe if we go heavy metal we would have too much for them but it won’t be like that. I’d take a 1-0 Liverpool win with a deflected own goal but with a bit of luck it’ll at least be an open game & good to watch.
I won’t see the game so here’s to a LFC win, Cheers lads, have a good night.

I think a ban is not enough of a punishment for breaching FFP. Say city get a ban from Europe, all that means is it’ll literally be impossible for anyone to compete with them in the EPL. Should be like Chuckster said or at least 50 mil max spend per season for 5 yrs. It needs to be a deterrent.

Yep Stevo, stand still in the EPL & you fall behind. That’s why I’m a bit concerned with Klopp saying we won’t buy anything major. You know city will so you have to just to try keep up.

I might be a bad omen to have on your side Stevo, I think I’ve put a curse on Liverpool when I told a young fella we were going to win the EPL with a couple of weeks to go in the Gerrard slip season. I was wearing my Liverpool top & a bloke in the supermarket said he’s youngster was nervous & didn’t want to wear his top. I said we are going to be the champions young fella, wear it every day. We’ve f’d up every major thing since.
So on that note chelsea and spurs to win.

Sorry 9 I hope the cannons win this one. Loved watching them during their successful seasons & haven’t won a major for a few seasons.
For me Hazzard is the best player in the EPL but he’s won enough at chelsea so here’s to a cannon win.

Grandfather actually chuckster, used to get me up to watch FA cup when it was a big thing & when Craig Johnno scored in a winning final me ol pop said “ he’s an Aussie mate”. I’ve followed that red team since.
If u chickens win it I won’t be heard of till next season so u can crow all you like. If we finally break the hoodoo look out.

If they keep Rafa & he gets money to spend they could become a major force once again. As 9 says FFP could limit expenditure though. This is what I’ve been saying about FFP, it’s stopping anyone else doing a city or chelsea & has made city pretty much out of reach of everyone else ( chelsea for whatever reason have dropped back to the pack). Either way I hope Newcastle make their way up the table again, I have a bit of a soft spot for them.

Oh Jeezus lads do you not get what ? means. I was fishing for a reply from Chuckster who is continually saying we’ve got it on the bag. Believe me I don’t like saying this as the favourites tag sits uneasy with me but I actually think all things considered it’s fair to say we are slight favourites, but only very slight. These 1 off games are a pretty even bet when it comes to a final especially considering the threats on both sides & it could come down to a refs call or a simple slip (don’t we scousers know about that) so I wouldn’t be putting any money on it either way.
You’ve wrecked my fun as I was hoping Chuckster would read the post & give me a gob full. All in good fun lads, just looking for a bit of a laugh.

The chickens should have beat us at Anfield & are favourites for this game, esp if karry Hane is playing. In form & desperate for a big trophy. Pressure of losing so many finals will be a massive burden, 2-1 for the chickens. ?

Chuckster not just wee Phil mate, we’ve sold a few but we aren’t the only club that’s had to sell players. The whole points was city didn’t have to sell anyone, they just kept buying players. Adlab you do indeed have to put the pieces together mate & to be fair to Pep he’s done a great job there. It is easier when they are the best at what they do but as your noisy neighbors have found in recent times splashing cash isn’t enough. To be fair it took your lot a few seasons to figure it out & they finally signed a top quality manager.
Nil I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we lost this final as well mate but who gives a toss what others think. Hopefully we break the hoodoo next week but it’d be a hell of an accomplishment if spurs do get over us & I’d certainly respect that a lot more than city winning the EPL all things considered.
Pagan very true mate, even if the Datsun did break down you’d be a good chance at getting it going again with a few tools & not need a f’ing computer to do the job. As my father in law says ( he’s a retired mechanic) “ they’re not mechanics these days, they’re technicians”.

LFC needs a playmaker & quality striker that isn’t a poacher but a worker. Easier said than done. I do think we are good value to finish 2nd again as we have stability in management etc but city only need a couple of buys & they will win the EPL again, especially if they cop a C/L ban. The only way I don’t see them winning the EPL is if they cop a transfer ban, even then they’ll still go close.
We seem to relish the C/L format & I’d expect to see us go well in that again. If we don’t buy as Koop is hinting at, we will struggle to maintain a top 2 finish.

9 truth be told for me city were better to watch than Liverpool this season as they just go at pretty much everyone & it’s good watching the best of the best strutting their stuff. I know we were more balanced than last season & pushed them all the way but I enjoyed watching us just attack everyone last season, win lose or draw we just went for it & I for 1 loved it.
It’s the way some portray them that amuses me, all the “ oh they’ve done what no other club has ever done” stuff. Well no other club has spent 1.2 billion on a squad in such a short timeframe either so you’d question the club if they didn’t win a shed load of trophy’s.
