Many good points on both sides lads & ultimately I think Klopp has earn’t the right to do what he likes in regards to transfers.
That said my opinion is this, c$ty will strengthen & considering I believe it was their superior depth that eventually wore us down last season I don’t see how we will overtake them this coming season. As for no top player wanting to come to be involved in rotations with our current players, c$ty seem to handle it ok & they have worldies on the bench so why couldn’t we give enough playing time considering the amount of games we are likely to play. I predicted c$ty to win it again & still fully expect it to happen, once again cups will be our best chance of winning something.

Small club with money ?, sadly Sean I think all the money they have spent has made them a big club. It’s just what sport has become these days mate, it’s all about the money. Can you imagine 15 years ago a top player saying city was their “dream move”. All they give a toss about is money these days & it’s nothing more than a job, hence the reason I don’t get overly involved any more.
I must say I can’t stand city either, they are like the rich kid at school that’s parents bought everything & made them spoilt brats that think it’s ok to belittle others. Adlab trying to compare anyone’s spending with city is quite comical.

I agree Sean, it only takes an injury or 2 to 1 or more of our front 3 & we lose a lot. We will have plenty of games for another quality attacking player to get a lot of game time so I can’t see that as being an issue.
We are chasing the holy grail & the most expensive squad ever & they will spend again & improve so whilst the theory of improving what we have on the practice pitch is noble & no doubt we will improve, IMO the reality is we will slip further behind if we don’t buy some more quality. Just my opinion & I know some won’t agree but it’s how I see it.

Couts is no doubt a quality player but IMO doesn’t really fit in what I think Klopp is doing. He’s a type of luxury player that will come up with a bit of brilliance on occasions but doesn’t really fit the “team” aspect in that all the parts need to work together rather than relying on that bit of brilliance. I’m mumbling this up a bit as I’ve been on night shifts & I’m not functioning properly but I think you get what I mean

Threeps I often pose the question to the feminazis why is there no women playing in the elite rugby league competition in Oz (NRL). Now I’m not sexist at all, I have a daughter & a wife that I expect to be treated fairly in life but in the real world there’s just some things women can’t do as well as men. I say put 7 females & 6 males in every 1st grade team in the NRL, as well as local club competitions, & see how it ends up. I guarantee there wouldn’t be many females wanting to play after 1 game. I’ll get put on the sexist for saying it but I’m just being realistic.

Mav I hardly watch cricket at all mate, just get the results on sports news. I’m with you mate in regards to the money in sport these days, it’s out of control. As an old timer said to me many moons ago “it’s no longer sport, it’s business & if there’s money in it, there’s corruption in it”. Seeing players betting on games they’re playing in etc just turns me off it. I look at city now & pretty much know they’ll win the EPL before the comp even begins. We are spending massive money just to try keep up and the smaller sized clubs have no hope of competing over a full season.
An ex pro rugby league player here in Oz said he doesn’t like how “chummy” players are before games nowadays & there’s no real rivalries in it any more & I agree. Players laugh & joke before & after games like they couldn’t give a toss if they win, lose or draw, it’s simply a job for them these days with zero loyalty from players or the clubs.
I don’t watch much sport at all any more & certainly don’t get caught up with the emotion some fans do. I take it for what it is now, a bit of entertainment.

Speaking of unpopular opinions, any cricket buffs on here. I’m not really a cricket fan but do keep an eye on the one day matches ( test cricket is definitely a test that I lose trying to watch it, like having teeth extracted with no anaesthetic, whilst twenty/20 to me is just swing at everything & hope for the best), at least players have time to build an innings but still have to go relatively quick.
I thought you poms would beat us with your swing bowling home advantage but jeez you were pretty average (from the highlights I seen anyway). No sandpaper required this time round, I think we’re saving that for the Kiwis so we can add it to the underarm disgrace ?.

Said it before that I look at a penalty &ask myself how would I feel if that was against Liverpool, my answer to this penalty is I think it was soft as f*** & shouldn’t have been given. Yeah going off the rules it’s a penalty but for me it’s like a diver hitting the deck with very minimal contact in the box, a penalty by the rule book but shouldn’t be given. Either way I was still very confident we would have won & we really just sat back & countered, which probably ruined the game as a spectacle but was effective.
Anyhow all in the past now, time to move on & look forward to another city EPL title & another cup coming to Anfield (hopefully).

Nil hope your right mate, we are definitely more balanced now & have a bit of steel about us that we didn’t have previously. As for the title thread I don’t think it really matters how the season ends with fixtures, we all go to play each other twice & injuries etc can occur at any time. It could be seen as better to play the top teams later if your in contention for the title, depends how you look at it. I wish the FA Cup was still seen as a big trophy, I have a soft spot for it so hopefully the youngsters & fringe players get us close to the final & we can snag that.

Haha Stevo I predicted it last season mate & expect the same this season. The only way to match them is to spend big, which we did & almost got them. Don’t expect another 1 loss season from us again but as they’ve shown their depth enables them to repeat massive total points per season. No sour grapes, just saying what I think will happen again.
Wow chuckster you certainly hate our lot don’t you. I actually said before the final how your mob massively exceeded my expectations by getting to the C/L final with such a small squad in comparison to the big guns & that I’d certainly respect you winning that more than city winning the EPL. Ah lads we can put whatever spin on it you want & dream up a myriad of scenarios but in reality I think deep down in the cockles of your stomach we all know c$ty will win the EPL again next season. As I’ve said time & time again it’s all about squad depth & they have more than anyone. Yes I hear you Liverpool pushed them close last time round but I’m certain they won’t get that many points again but as the moneybags proved they can repeat such a high tally with all their depth.
Cups are what the rest of us can hope to do well in.

The thing I like about this site is you don’t have others lecturing to you if you have a different view, unlike TT where the likes of ginger & a couple of similar ilk belittle anyone that has a different view, they are always right & if you don’t agree your wrong. They love thinking they are some smart & berate others from behind a keyboard knowing full well they will never have to face those they berate. That’s why I don’t go on there, there’s some good posters there but the knobs were overrunning it.
As for Adlab 9 I’m just saying it how it is, chopping LFC because the players say they want to win the EPL, no “macho” stuff there like he tried to make out. Conveniently he forgets those c$ty grubs singing on the plane. I think Sean’s right & he hates it & is bitter that Liverpool won the C/L.
Anyhow lads enjoy the summer & we’ll catch up in a month or so.

I think most will be biased with the best manager thing, I mean how big a feat is it Rafa keeping Newcastle up, Spurs getting to the C/L final & finishing behind teams on 97 & 98 points, they are pretty amazing accomplishments for me.
Could Klopp manage all the quality at c$ty & keep them keen & professional, could Pep build a club without massive money, who knows as your comparing apples with oranges. One thing for sure, I wouldn’t want any other manager at Liverpool full stop.

Adlab I seen a hell of a lot of interviews etc & the closest I seen to what you said was we really want to win the EPL & will aim for that next season. No “macho” stuff what so ever & I certainly wouldn’t be bragging about next season in any case as my early tip is c$ty will buy more players & will win it again.
I get what you mean about cocky loud mouthed players though, like those classy players singing songs about a fan that nearly died & other terrible events after just winning the EPL, you’d think they’d just celebrate winning & sing a victory song wouldn’t you. They will have to change one of their songs though cause Mo Salah hasn’t won f all, he’s just won ol big ears ?.
As for next season your right, the sheikh might get sick of his plaything & sell up, FSG might pull the plug & we get another Tom & Jerry, Newcastle might get taken over & they go well, spurs might finally spend up & push c$ty all the way, hell manu could spend big & improve (we both hope that doesn’t happen). Who knows, I’ll just enjoy winning no 6 & worry about that in August.

Just finally great respect to Spurs, what an unbelievable effort to get all the way to a final with such a thin squad, blows my mind thinking of the money other clubs have spent (LFC included) and how close they came to winning the title. Can’t say I’m upset they didn’t do it but respect what they’ve done this season. Hopefully they’ll spend a bit of money & will do a Liverpool & back up a 2nd place with the title (provided we don’t get there again) next time around.
